When I switched Tych Maps from per-creation billing to subscription billing in May, I had to rethink the membership structure pretty substantially.

A few months in, I don’t think the pricing landed quite right.

So, I’m adjusting the current membership tiers:

AdventurerCA$15 → CA$9/month or CA$81/year

MapmakerCA$25 → CA$20/month or CA$180/year

BlacksmithCA$25 → CA$20/monthor CA$180/year

InventorCA$50 → CA$39/monthor CA$351/year

Approx USD monthly pricing: $7.50 / $15.50 / $15.50 / $30

The new prices are now live.

I’m also increasing the annual membership discount to 25% - equivalent to three months free. The annual prices shown above already include the 25% annual discount (it isn’t an additional 25% off those amounts).

Nothing about the membership benefits is being reduced. This is just me adjusting the pricing now that I’ve had some time to see how the new subscription model works in practice.

One important note for existing members:

I’m not automatically changing anyone’s current membership. A lot of long-time patrons still have grandfathered tiers, old per-creation billing limits, or other legacy pricing that I don’t want to disrupt.

Existing versions of these tiers have been marked (Legacy) and left in place to preserve those existing billing arrangements. Your benefits aren't changing.

That means some existing members may end up paying more than the newly listed price. If you’d prefer to switch to one of the new tiers (or the same tier at the new price), you can do that. Just keep in mind that changing tiers may mean giving up any grandfathered pricing or billing limits attached to your current membership. I won’t be able to issue refunds or retroactive price adjustments for the current month.

Thanks for sticking with me while I continue to refine how all of this works. The move to subscription billing was a pretty big change after years of doing things one way, and I’d rather adjust it when something doesn’t feel quite right than leave it that way.

I am still comfortable with paying the legacy tier pricing, though some maps like the "Dungeon of the Mad Mage - Foundry VTT Module" are now locked behind an upgrade paywall even though I am still paying for the equivalent tier. I have the (Legacy) Mapmaker tier, which is 19.50$ a month. It says I need to upgrade to the Blacksmith tier, which is now priced the same as the mapmaker tier. Do I need to have both subscriptions? Or does the the 19.50$ legacy mapmaker tier which should give me "Archive access - (all past maps)" enough?

I was just looking through your subscription history to try and make sure I give you the right info. Nothing has changed in terms of access. The Mapmaker tier (legacy and current) includes archive access - which is access to the map image files and universal VTT files. It also includes "mapmaker files", which include dungeondraft files and asset packs. Back in May I added the "Blacksmith" tier, which includes archive access and Foundry VTT module access, but NOT the mapmaker files. And then above that I have the Inventor tier (legacy and current), which includes archive access, mapmaker files, AND foundry files. So it depends what you need/want access to. If it's just maps and foundry, Blacksmith is probably a better fit for you. But if you are looking for the Dungeondraft source files as well, then Inventor might be a better fit. Hope this helps clarify things
