Hello! to all you lovely people :D <3

As you've all probably seen the MiNA animation is now finished! I was having quite a few technical issues with that this week and it was stressing me out but I got there in the end :)

Once I wrapped up that project I jumped straight into the Jason x MiNA one and the main thing was getting the lighting and all the environment done.

Nearly everything is done but after I modelled the cabin I was trying to improve the lighting and how the lighting effected the trees which took me a super long time to do, sadly I ran out of time to texture the cabin but that will happen next week :)

I was having some issues where this scene would crash every time I tried to render and I ended up isolating the issue which was the noise texture I had animated for the water. No idea why it did this but it's fixed now, I figured it would to do with all the foliage I have in this scene but I was surprised by what it actually was.

The final render I had yesterday was missing the water texture, the cabin hadn't been modelled yet and I wasn't happy with how the trees looked in the background at all! my lighting was looking too flat on them and I wanted a much harsher casting light and a lot more shadows below so it looked like a dense forest. I did get a nice looking fire visual created on the campfire though! it's a looping video and it works pretty well I think.

First thing I did today was modelling the cabin and I'll show some more details about below but the other areas I was looking into was adding more rocks scattered around, some more plants around the lake and the major thing of working on the tree line and lighting. It took a lot of tinkering but I finally worked out how to get the lighting effect I wanted on the trees and I also added hills with more trees at two different distances behind the main tree line so we get a nice visual showing a lot more depth in the scene.

I started looking at references for different cabin ideas and one thing I tend to do if I'm making a new building or room is I will look at floor plans and model from that. I tweaked some details in the final cabin I modelled but for the majority I used this image as a reference.

The only part of this I didn't model was the door xD I realised I was spending too much time modelling it and I still needed to fix the lighting issues I spoke about above so I grabbed one from the DBD assets I have >_< There are some interior walls in the cabin as I plan on having the lights on in it but I don't think any of this animation will take place in there.

That's all from me this week though! Next week I've got to texture the cabin but beyond that I will be setting up the first pose and start animating it! :D I've got another commission starting soon but don't know the exact date of that yet as I was fully focused on getting the last one done and haven't fully planned it out with the commissioner yet ^_^

I hope everyone has had an amazing week so far and wishing you all a lovely and restful weekend <3

Damn, sometimes I think you're too concerned with the quality of the production. You even created a whole house with rooms, wow
