Enjoying watching Buffy again along with you. Yes, it’s campy, especially season 1, but it’s fun with some unexpected character developments along the way, some I liked, some not so much.

I love how Buffy has episodes where the bad guy doesn’t exactly die but just gets trapped somehow. It always feels more just instead of a swift death. And it oh leaves the door open for the occasional evildoer to come back somehow. It’s like the opposite of some shows where the take good villains off the table too early and then are left with leftover ideas for new villains.

At 2:15 Cordelia makes a comment about another student trying to be a Los Angeles Laker Girl. The actress, Charisma Carpenter was a cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers prior to working on the show. She actually auditioned for Buffy but lost to Sarah Michelle Gellar. The showrunners liked her so much that they wrote the character of Cordelia for her. You'll also notice that there is a LOT of allegory in this show. This episode was obviously inspired by stories of parents living vicariously through their children and even resenting their youth.

Yeah, it is kinda interesting to see another actresses take on the same character. It's not a good movie but it is pure early 90s silliness.

Such a fun episode, and I’m glad you got to see THE MOMENT you wanted from the opening credits 😂 and we met Amy! Actually kinda love the actress playing Amy’s mum 👀 her and her cunty bob were so fierce The statue ending was weirdly scary to 5 year old me watching this on VHS 😅 but also hilarious in retrospect bc omg
