Hey guys!

I'm in the mood to watch something more light hearted this week. Help me pick a fun comedy to watch!

Comments

Patrick Mitchell

These are all great movies and you should definitely watch them all eventually, but I gotta go with topic thunder here

Longway

Hot fuzz! Awesome

beetle

Both Tucker and Hot Fuzz. They are both great movies, unless you want to save Tucker for October Natmares.

Cactus Tony

I mean, one of these movies is Hot Fuzz and the rest are very funny comedies. Hot Fuzz will win this.

Andy Crawley

Definitely got to follow up Shaun Of the Dead, and Hot Fuzz is the superior film of the “Cornetto Trilogy”!

Anonymous

This was actually a hard choice between Hot Fuzz and Tropic Thunder, but the Hot Fuzz is just too good to not choose!

Ian

Hot fuzz all day long #cornetto trilogy 🙂🍦

Tom Fehr

wait... have you not seen Dumb and Dumber??? That HAS to win if so

Joe Blankenship

Gotta go with Dumb and Dumber. That's a classic!

Chris Mick

Definitely a "yarp" for Hot Fuzz.

Ortizmo2000

Had HF recommended to me by pretty much everyone, but it was just hype. Expectations set way too high for what it was. Thunder or D&D....Probably Thunder.

Max du Coudray

Man, I love Tucker and Dale and I know Nat loves Alan Tudyk... but I can't vote against Hot Fuzz. It's just too good.

Wally Hartshorn

Uh... None of the above? None of these are my taste. Ah well. Hopefully you’ll enjoy whichever one is chosen.

Reavis Wade

Hot Fuzz is insanely funny, however Tropic Thunder is all about filmmaking and the LA culture that I feel you would really appreciate. Also seeing Robert Downey Jr. playing a non-Iron Man/Tony Stark character might be a fun change with your MCU viewing. Lastly, it has one of the best cameos of all time in Tropic Thunder. If you watch Hot Fuzz first, PLEASE come back for TT, it is the best.

Matthew Periolat

Oooo tough. I’ve seen none of them, so new experience any way we go!

Eric Janssen

Besides mindless condition-reflex fan completism after Shaun, the main reason Reactor-fans have an obsession with making EVERY SINGLE reactor on the face of YouTube watch Hot Fuzz is deliberately very unexpected, very R-rated, and rather icky. Spoilers aside, you have been warned, especially if you asked for "light". Fans’ other obsession, with making EVERY SINGLE reactor on the face of YouTube watch Tropic Thunder is more watchable (ie. language, misquoted catchphrases and goofy random actor-cameos), but of the two, I’d rather get this one out of the freakin’ way as soon as possible. So that we can get right away to fans’ obsession with making every single reactor on the face of YouTube watch Clue. :)

Jon Hoover

I fell asleep during Hot Fuzz, and my dreams were better than the movie.

Christian Fierro

Just a quick shout-out but NASA's Perseverance rover just safely landed on Mars! Otherwise Dumb and Dumber is pure silliness I'd like to see you react to!

Erik Larson

Hot Fuzz because then you are 1 movie away from finishing the Cornetto Trilogy. It's definitely the right selection for "the greater good..."

David Blake

Mrs. Doubtfire, Meet the parents, Hot shots!, Beverly Hills Cop trilogy (1&3 are the best), Coming to America, Trading places. P.S.: sorry, but I can't suggest you to watch movies like Dumb and Dumber, too much stupid for my taste.

Jim Powell

Hot fuzz PLEASE god it’s such an underrated gem

Eric Janssen
>>53916108

When one reactor was offering a Request tier, I sent him a Marx Brothers comedy for the first time, and he meant it in the good way when he laughed it was "like Dumb & Dumber, on steroids".

Edward Olson

Much better comedies out there but Hot Fuzz is the best of this lot.

Cifer

Few good choices, but I think Tropic Thunder would get the loudest laughs, by pure absurdity.

Ron K

Got to keep going on the Cornetto Trilogy. My theory is all three are the same movie just happening in alternate realities.

kikoyito

Can we add in Zombieland?

Danishprince

Hot Fuzz is the only correct choice !

Anonymous
>>53916462

I know who I am. I'm a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude!

Niklas

All fun movies, but Hot Fuzz is amazing.

This_Jedi_crafts

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil was so misleading (by the poster art and promo). I almost didn't watch it (once upon a time). Thankfully, when it arrived on Netflix, I "took a chance" on it one night and was amazed by the writing and humor - really well crafted. I may lose this pick, too but Hot Fuzz is a movie I've never seen (but heard is a comedy classic).

Darryl Low

With everything that's going on in the world, I definitely think we all need a laugh, and who better to have a laugh with than Nat. Going with Hot Fuzz as it's one we've all been talking about for a while.

Anonymous

Tropic Thunder, the quotes are none stop and Downey is pure comedy throughout!

Tiger Chu

Hot Fuzz for the greater good. Tropic Thunder is another good laugh as well

darby72

Not gonna vote because they are all great, I could be satisfied with any of them so I'll leave it to what everyone else wants. Regardless of which one wins you should do all of them at some point.

James Young

Let's be honest, just add all of these to your list. Why even try picking one of these over the other.

John Hoffler Jr.

I feel like Hot Fuzz would be better to watch after you’ve seen the movies it references.

Mark

I LOVE Tucker and Dale, and can't stand to sit through the other three. ;)

Andrew T

Wow, this is more like a "help me determine what order I should watch ALL these movies" poll.

Doug Willour

Hot Fuzz is the better comedy, but alot of the humor depends on being a fan of the genre it parodies. For Natalie, Tucker and Dale I am guessing will be much more appreciated.

It Hurt A Lot

I voted for Tropic Thunder. So I just gave it the kiss of death. Sorry

JediLounger

The first time you watch Hot Fuzz you will miss so many jokes because you will be laughing so much lol. While I like the other three, especially Tucker and Dale, I adore Hot Fuzz. I have watched it repeatedly and it still cracks me up.

Pete Bowers

This is a hard choice. I like all of these, but Tucker and Dale is a different twist on the that particular genre, so I have to pick that one. I'm hoping you put Cabin in the woods in one of these polls soon!

MattN

ah man this isn't fair! All of these are so good!!

Anonymous

I never heard of Hot Fuzz, so watched the trailer, you know, where they should put a few laughs in to get you to watch it. I guess the cold weather sucked my humor, or it just isn't my style of humor. I'm sure if my toes weren't sloowly getting frostbite, it might have registered more. My vote, Tucker/Dale vs Evil.

David Trumble

I used to like 'Tropic Thunder' a lot more before I fell in love with someone whose child was on the spectrum. Despite its good intentions to satirize cinema's obsession with reductive representations of autism spectrum disorder (similar to how it handles race), I nevertheless can't abide the frequent, flippant use of the "R" word for comedy. It's just a word I can't tolerate anymore, even when the film-makers are trying to make a satirical statement. So I'd go with "Hot Fuzz" simply for the reason that, out of the options, it is the least objectionable. But that's just me.

Christopher Robles

I'm personally not a fan of the simon pegg Nick frost duo. But it seems to be pretty popular

Michael Kemp
>>53920843

I'm 100% with you. My girlfriend's son is special needs and I just can't see the humor in it.

The Golgothan

Unpopular opinion: Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright are overrated.

Doug Schoettle

I don't believe you can miss with any of these. I like them all!!

Warren Van Wyck

Really looking forward to Short Circuit someday making a poll. It’s likely too old/forgotten about to ever win though. What a shame.

Andy Crawley
>>53922765

I wouldn’t say the Pegg/Frost/Wright team up is overrated, but as an Englishman I will admit that their humour is informed by being both very British and of a particular time, i.e late 90’s to early/mid 2000’s. So I totally get why a lot of younger people and a lot of Americans don’t get the humour. But growing up in the UK at that time, Spaced was hugely influential for a lot of people that have come since, likewise Alan Partridge, Black Books, The Day Today/Brass Eye/Jam, Big Train, The League Of Gentlemen, Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, The Office, Peep Show, and anything Reeves and Mortimer have ever done.

Kelvin

Looks like hot fuzz is taking it, nice

Alan Kobb

I'm very happy that I've never seen any of these, so I won't cast a vote, but I get to watch something new along with Natalie!

Tom
>>53925105

Hot Fuzz is great , but Tropic Thunder is next level!

Anonymous

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is awesome. Hot Fuzz is *unbelievably* awesome, and incredibly smart. You'll love both, though.

tezster

Kinda hoping for Tropic Thunder :o)

Tony Hart

I really recommend Black Dynamite

Tony Hart

On the list though I'd go with Tropic Thunder followed a close second by Hot Fuzz

Martin Heron

Both Hot Fuzz and Tropic Thunder would be absolute winners.

Baltazar Martinez Jr

This is a win, win, win, win poll. I'm about to flip a coin.

Troy B.

I'd like Hot Fuzz to win as a followup to Shawn Of The Dead.

Friendly Trumpet
>>53917325

If you've seen either of Shawn of the Dead or The World's End you've got some idea of the kind of movie Hot Fuzz is, as it's another "play heavily with the tropes of this kind of movie" comedy passing itself off as being fairly serious, this time with (British) buddy cop, mystery, and action movies instead of zombie movie or ... whatever best describes The World's End. It's VERY good. The writing is phenomenal, the cast is top notch, and you would never tell from looking at it that the budget was under £ 8 million (around $12 million USD) in 2007 and shot in three months.

Friendly Trumpet
>>53920762

Honestly the main trailer isn't great for selling what the movie really is. It's not a very funny trailer, and the jokes which are included in the trailer land way better in the context of the full movie.

Friendly Trumpet
>>53925859

Voted for Hot Fuzz personally as it's one of my favourite movies period let alone from this list, but whatever the result ends up being you're in for a treat. They're all very funny movies. Maybe a weird statement to many here but Tropic Thunder is easily my least favourite of the four, doesn't quite line up with my humour I think, and it still had me laughing a lot throughout and was generally a lot of fun.

Kelvin
>>53932101

it'd be nice if it goes on to world's end, thats my favorite of the bunch

JarHead0351

Mr & Mrs Smith & Evolution

Ron

Some comedies from your list I'd like to suggest: ● Airplane! ● Blazing Saddles ● Monty Python's Life of Brian

TamaMetalPuppet

Nat, I suggested Tucker and Dale during Halloween and I had to vote for it again. Tropic Thunder is also really funny and original. But you love Alan Tudyk so Tucker and Dale is the clear choice (I really hope Hot Fuzz doesn't win, I just didn't find it that funny). Please everyone hype up the Tudyk (and Labine) movie!

Anonymous

Once again asking for Star wars the old republic cinematic (swot cinematic) reaction. know its gonna blow ur socks off hehe. 20 mins video set during war between Jedi and sith. yes its for a game but I guarantee it looks amazing and easily is movie quality. p.s. cant go wrong with the "three flavours cornetto trilogy"(hot fuzz is technically 2nd movie but u can watch out of order)

Andy Jordan

It would make sense to do Hot Fuzz, since you've already done Shaun of the Dead, and it's the second movie in the Cornetto trilogy. Although, of these four, Tropic Thunder is my personal favorite, but I love all these movies, so this'll be a win-win.

Anonymous

Hi! First time msg, this is one was tricky as Dale n Tucker is a must see really funny but Hot Fuzz defo fits the bill on this survey.

Jayson Phillips

I will pay you to watch and react to SHAZAM if you have not seen it yet =)

Anakin Starkiller

I figured Hot Fuzz would win and since you've seen Sean of The Dead I'd say continue the trilogy

Vincent Valentin

ah man all these are great for different reasons

Wiremu Marshall

I would recommend A Knights Tale if you havent seen it. Heath Ledger, Alan Tudyk and Mark Addy. Light and fun

mrhalfbit

And a good tie in for GOT soon!

Justin S.

These choices are definitely comedy but not sure they would all be considered lighthearted! If you really want a comedy without much blood and gore, here are some ideal choices: Airplane Beverly Hills Cop The Naked Gun Midnight Run Mrs. Doubtfire The Mask Kingpin Happy Gilmore Liar Liar There's Something About Mary

Darren Withers

The "Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy" is great. Strawberry (Shaun of the Dead) is my favourite, followed by Chocolate (Hot Fuzz) As for Choc Mint (The Worlds End), well, it’s a lot of fun, but probably best you left till last in the list.

Martin Heron
>>53949826

She watched Shaun during the Halloween month, so just World's End to do after!

Andrew Howard

Absolutely love Hot Fuzz, one of my favorite movies of all time. Tucker and Dale vs Evil is also delightful. If you don't get around to it by then, Tucker and Dale could be a good October movie as it plays heavily off of horror movie tropes.

Eric Janssen
>>53948986

And if you're wondering why the heck he would talk about a comedy "without much blood and gore" while Hot Fuzz is leading the votes...Hmm.

Quarty

Hot Fuzz. It seemed to me your main annoyance with Shaun of the Dead was Nick Frost's idiotic character Ed. Obviously the actor Nick Frost is still in Hot Fuzz, and he still plays some comedic relief, but not via the bumbling idiot character Ed :)

Ian D Findlow

That is a truly difficult choice. I am a brit so 'Hot Fuzz' but all of the top 3 are great movies.

Anonymous

I voted for Tucker and Dale. I think all of these would be fine ( Not a fan of Dumb and Dumber personally) but Tucker and Dale is probably the least known of these outside of its cult following ( name recognition). Fans have been asking for the actors to do some sort of follow-up for years.

Johan Sånesson

Can't believe Tucker & Dale hasn't got more votes. It's an amazing film.

Matthew
>>53979441

It's perfect for a double-feature with "Cabin in the Woods."

ryan brooks

Can I vote for all of them?

Sarlacc1979

If you're looking for comedies... Airplane Blues Brothers Galaxy Quest Young Frankenstein

Anonymous
>>53947378

Yes! I watched Tropic Thunder and its too much, too vulgar. In particular if you want light and fun. Hot Fuzz didn't click any humor buttons. A Knights Tale is more of a comedy love action story. I wouldn't call it a true comedy. But it is Light and Fun. It certainly checks those boxes.

MC

OMG Tropic Thunder. Best comedy ever

Niklas

"Dracula: Dead and Loving It" - my favorite comedy. So underrated.

Marc Ammundsen

Really hard to pick between Hot Fuzz and Tucker & Dale! If you can, try both?

Anonymous

If you have an extra few minutes sometime it's really fun to watch Star Wars fans react to the Luke battle from the point the X-wing appears. The way they piece by piece gave certain clues, like gloved right hand, ungloved left hand, and green lightsaber, they all knew exactly who it was going to be when he dropped the hood. They get pretty emotional, and it's great to see so many people so full of pure childlike joy. One of the best ones: https://youtu.be/4qJMY73BQdA

Edward Olson
>>54043537

1) She IS a reactor. Why would she care to watch OTHER reactors? 2) Pay attention. She doesn't want to become a "Star Wars Channel."

Jobard

If you’re gonna watch Hot Fuzz, you gotta do all 3 flavors of the Cornetto trilogy

Tej Shah
>>54043537

1) Weirdly enough, people can like doing things and enjoy other people doing them. I'm pretty sure in one of her videos she said she watched ItsAPrimate, and recommended people to subscribe to his channel post-copyright strike. 2) Pay attention. Jaster didn't say 'react to', he said 'watch'.

Ben Gilshenan

you should also watch what we do in the shadows (movie)

Grumples

There needs to be "All of these" option

Anonymous

They are all funny movies, but Hot Fuzz is a total classic. Much funnier than the rest.

Alan Kobb

If you want funny, you've got to do Caddyshack. You've got to do Animal House, and for G_d's sake, you've got to do The Blues Brothers, and if you thought the music in Guardians of the Galaxy was great, you've better be wearing the wireless headphones for that because this music will have you dancing, Nat!

Matthew Duley

Dumb & Dumber is obviously really dumb, but it's so funny. Amazing classic with some hilarious one-liners.

David W Richards

None of these qualify as "funny" movies to me. If you want to see a funny movie you should check out what is pretty much universally accepted among movie fans as the funniest movie ever made Some Like It Hot.
