Hey folks!

So when I first began watching Daredevil, I assumed it was like any other show in that I could just watch all 3 seasons and move on to another show. However, some folks have mentioned to me that it's better to watch the Netflix marvel shows in a particular viewing order for things to make the most sense.

So let me know your thoughts right here and now in this poll. Do you think I should go with the order listed below or just watch seasons 1-3 of Daredevil in one go and then move on to other Netflix shows in the future?

I'll admit that if the answer is to stick to this order below, then I will probably have to take breaks to watch other things in between certain seasons. This list is a lot longer than I originally thought I was signing up for and, although I am happy to check this stuff out, there are A LOT of other shows and things I want to check out as well. Not just shows in the Marvel universe.

Here is the suggested order I've seen:

Daredevil (Season 1)

Jessica Jones (Season 1)

Daredevil (Season 2)

Luke Cage (Season 1)

Iron Fist (Season 1)

The Defenders (Limited Series)

The Punisher (Season 1)

Jessica Jones (Season 2)

Luke Cage (Season 2)

Iron Fist (Season 2)

Daredevil (Season 3)

The Punisher (Season 2)

Jessica Jones (Season 3)

jeremi

skip daredevil and watch the peak show that is the boys!🤭

Corissa K

I did Daredevil 1-2, Defenders, then finished DD. Then watched everything else after. But 1 is solid to get them all in before Defenders

Florian Hoyer

while i think watching daredevil season 1 and 2 is fine, season 3 would spoiler shit and its never fun getting stuff spoilerd xD they all amazing so watching them in the right oder just gives you more fun and u undrstand stuff better also i think having change is fun for watchers and doesnt fetige you as fast for a show

Shurikinney

If you do want to have all the right context, that order would be best, yea. But take your time with it all, nat!

Irrelevant Productions

Honestly, if you’re interested in the other shows, go for it! But my very first time watching, I watched DD season 1 and 2, Defenders, then season 3. Defenders is definitely required though. But you’ll meet the other heroes on that show. I later went back to watch the others (which are great, but I really just wanted to watch more Matt)

Chad Ruth

I think you should let this slow burn story build, it has zero relevance to the current phase of marvel anyways, so it doesn't matter how long it takes you! Plus I want you to watch all of them, but I also want to watch stranger things with you! So moving on and taking breaks isn't the worst thing!

Hal

If you want an abridged version thats not hard to follow but hits all the main story beats, you can safely cut Luke Cage and Iron Fist out of this order. The shows are okay, but the characters get good enough introductions in Defenders that you dont have to slog through those shows if you are looking to trim it down.

Mason32800

Just watch Defenders before watching Daredevil season 3. I wouldn’t worry about the others.

Bonzie Baker

Its only S3 of DD I think that is messed up, so you should watch DD 1 +2 first, then go the the viewer order or as someone suggested just watch DD1+2 > Defenders > DD3

Jenny Chalek

As long as you react to JJ season 1, I'm happy.

Joel

This might be controversial but I think the only stuff worth watching with the Netflix shows is probably Daredevil, Jessica Jones Season 1, and maybe Punisher. There’s a lot of filler and you for sure don’t need to watch Iron Fist lol

Jastrick

If you're not feeling the whole run (totally understandable), my vote would be to do Season 1, 2, Defenders, and then Season 3. Aside from learning who the other heroes are, there's not too much in JJ, LC, or IF Season 1 that are necessary for Defenders aside from knowing who the heroes are, but Defenders is probably necessary for DD S3.

larshans

I would watch Daredevil season 1 and 2, then find some recap of the other shows, then watch defenders and daredevil season 3. The punisher is also worth a watch

Pop Culture Historian

If you know you're gonna watch the other shows, def do a viewing order. It's like the MCU where it's going to reference stuff from the other shows and it's just better to know it when you need to. But if you only want to watch Daredevil then it doesnt matter

Tim Ostipow

Aside from knowing about it/him/the powers and the relevance to the overall story and it's side characters, I would genuinely recommend skipping Iron Fist.

elmest

Watching daredevil season 1 and 2 back to back is fine but you’ll probably be a little confused at the beginning of season 3 if you have not watch the defenders series. But most of these shows like iron fist, Luke cage are not that good and you won’t need to watch them understand daredevil season 3.

Patrick Egan

I voted for the Suggested Viewing Order, but I would make an exception. Everything after The Defenders is optional except Daredevil Season 3. If you like the other characters, by all means watch their shows. But they can each be watched independently of each other after The Defenders. For me, Daredevil was the only solo show worth following, but you may feel differently.

Lisa Tosti

I don't think Season 3 will make much sense without at least seeing the Defenders. And you will have such a better understanding of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage if you watch their shows before the Defenders. The only show I didn't watch was Iron Fist.

Jon Brown

Honestly you can stick to just Daredevil and Punisher. The others aren’t worth your time lol

Hal

Honestly, DD1 - JJ1 - DD2 - Defenders - DD3 is perfectly acceptable abridged viewing order. The rest you can pick and choose based on if you enjoyed the characters in Defenders.

Nick

You will see this with all marvel stuff. While it's cool to have this universe & a massive amount of content tied together. It's mostly packaged so you can jump in at any point & watch what you want when you want & not be too lost. Some fans will insist on it but it's ultimately not necessary. You might miss a reference here or there but most people watch one at a time & it's fine. They are good shows except iron fist but you should break between them.

Matthew Jaszyn

Brace yourself for Iron Fist. That one is a CHORE!

sugarless

DD S1, DD S2, Defenders, then DD S3. you absolutely do not need to watch them in the suggested order. i would however recommend you squeeze punisher in somewhere because that’s also really good!

Aaron Chandler

All those shows fit very well together. Even Iron Fist for as much hate as it got. I liked it. Not as strong as the other 3, but I still think a good story that adds more depth to all the Defenders shows as a whole.

Night King01

Here’s what I recommend. 1. Daredevil season 1 2. Daredevil Season 2 3. Punisher season 1 4. Jessica Jones season 1 and 2 5. Luke cage season 1 6. Iron fist if you want to because it’s really not that good and not necessary. 7. The defenders 8. Jessica jones season 3 9. Daredevil season 3 although I would say watch this last as it takes place right after defenders but it is the best way to finish off the saga. 10. Luke cage season 2. Don’t watch iron fist. Not worth it at all.

LightsCameraJake

I suggest release order of the shows. That's the intended way the producers wanted.

Chad Ruth

Also, you wanted more of Karen's back story, which you get in the punisher I believe, which is a gory, but very emotional story as well

Quinn Keegan

I think you could get away with just watching Daredevil seasons 1 and 2, then Defenders, then Daredevil season 3. But full context is nice too

Śéáń

Defenders is probably needed for context to early season3, but otherwise you don't need to watch the others before Daredevil S3 Jessica Jones S1 would be good to watch as before Defenders though, I think you'll enjoy that one a lot and it introduces a couple of people in this universe. Iron Fist could be skippable, but that's a personal choice. I can't speak for Luke Cage, I didn't watch his show, but I wouldn't say it totally necessary to understand his presence in Defenders as he's introduced to the universe before the show itself. Punisher is seperate to all the others, you can watch those at any point after S2 Daredevil, but isn't as interlocked with the others as far as his own show is concerned.

Randee Carreno

Happy Wednesday, Natalie! 😊 I voted for the suggested order viewing list. Because I haven't seen the other shows yet since they were taken off of Netflix before I could getting around to watching them. And watching them here would be the perfect time to watch them have a great day today. 😊 Stay Golden! 💛

Siti Dee

I would suggest dd s1-2, The Defenders and then dd s3. And you can check out the rest later.

Fostena

Can't wait to rewatch JJ with you, Nat

Xenic Mark

I'm just curious how you'll get through iron fist. I'm a watch anything type of guy but the reason I've not finished watching all these shows is I have to go through season 2 of iron fist.

Brian Jones

There is ZERO reason to watch the other shows other than for the Marvel die-hards. The only thing I would have suggested at all was to watch the summary for The Defenders before starting season 3. Most of these shows range from mediocre to REALLY BAD. There's no reason to waste the better part of a year working your way through what is unarguably some really bad TV, just for the "entire backstory". I get there are some real diehard Marvel fanboys and stuff, but if they are honest, even they will tell you that other than maybe Jessica Jones season one, the rest ranges from garbage to really hot garbage.

Adam Block

So to me the best shows in here are Dare devil, Punisher(which is directly tied to Dare Devil) and Jessica Jones. It's up to you if you want to watch them all but those 3 are pretty awesome

Alex James Hefner

There's absolutely no need to watch most of these. DD S1, DD S2, Defenders, and finally DD S3. Even defenders is mostly related to Daredevil

Jesse Saint

Yeah truly I’d say DD season 1&2 and Jessica Jones season 1, defenders, DD season 3 should be the viewing, the rest is truly optional and don’t truly impact the daredevil story line

Ryan B

I think this would be the best way too.

Tim Ostipow

Jessica Jones was great though.

Rebecca Solomon

I say DD2 then JJ1 then Defenders. Those are the critical seasons. Then decide if you want more in this universe, and if not, you won't be missing out.

FoH Film Club

I’ll probably be in the minority on this at this point in the mcu most of those shows aren’t necessary but I suppose if you want to be a completionist go for it. That’s a whole lot of marvel and would rather you watch other things

Śéáń

I'd agree with this despite my comment above. A summary for Defenders would expedite things a lot and cut thechaff from the wheat. Jessica Jones S1 (watched prior to Defenders), and Punisher are still well worth seeing as they're quite good.

Dave B

The standouts here are Daredevil and Punisher. Maybe watch a recap of Defenders online to pickup what they're laying down in DD season 3, but that's it. The others you can take in order later if you want more background but they're all, including Jessica Jones, hit or miss IMHO

Edward Rahardjo

I think you're going to like Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage as well. Iron Fist is universally disliked. Punisher might be too graphic (or too audial? for you) I do recommend watching them all, but we've watched them over a course of ~5 years. Watching them all at once might cause fatigue..

Michael T. Ford III @ Racial Draft Podcast

As a completist who's also a fan of your reactions, I would LOVE seeing you do the whole watch order. But in terms of essential essential for the Daredevil story, S1, S2, Defenders and S3 will do it. But I HIGH RECOMMEND watching Jessica Jones S1 and Punisher S1 before Defenders, while I'm begrudgingly willing to accept you taking a pass on the rest.

Joshua Kon

There are so, so, many shows here. A lot of these shows are bad, really bad. It would be a waste of you as a reactor to be stuck in this medicore subset of marvel shows thatll have 0 impact on things moving forward. Especially with how BAD SOME ARE!

Mr. Bundy

I’d say you could possibly give Punisher a pass. Personally I loved it, but I don’t know if it will your cup o’ tea; and it doesn’t fit in directly with the rest of them.

Danishprince

The suggested viewing order is definitely the right one to do. Yes there's few seasons of others shows that aren't the greatest and that a lot of viewers don't like but you've watched content before that many viewers dislike (Like X-Men Last Stand) that you ended up liking so I'll say go for it :)

Darryl Low

Haven't seen any of these shows, but would be happy just to watch Daredevil if it can be followed without confusion. There's just so many other great shows out there for you to watch as well. Have a great Wednesday Nattie G 💛

Ruler

Only additional show you should consider is Jessica Jones s1. I don't recommend the others.

Jason Dolan

I think it makes sense for you to watch all the Netflix Marvel Shows as they were released for peak viewing experience.

tezster

I think suggested order would be a good general guideline to adhere to, but you also don't need to strictly follow it, because some of the shows aren't as high quality. Make the decision as you go. Definitely JJ S1 after DD S1, then go from there.

Daniel Ketchum

Makes sense to break things up after Jessica Jones S1. The only one I would skip entirely is Iron Fist. There's a reason it only got one season.

Degenerick

if you really want, just watch s2. s3 will only make sense if you watched all the shows and defenders

Heretic

I suggest not watching Luke Cage and for sure skipping Iron Fist.

Brian Jones

Another point to be made was that this started because Daredevil is going to become part of the MCU. It has been officially adopted in both the films and the TV shows, and there is a planned continuation for the show on Disney+. There are no such current plans for any of the other Marvel/Netflix shows or characters at this time.

Evan Padgett

If you go with the suggested order, I think that will be too much time spent on shows of such mixed quality. It is not as important to watch the TV shows in a particular order as it is to watch the movies in order. There might be some shows you aren't into, or that just aren't as good as they need to be, and having to sit through them might be a drag for both you and the audience. I'd rather see you watch the shows that are exciting and interesting to you, like Daredevil, in addition to reaching outside of a Marvel-heavy playlist that gives us all more variety. I personally loved Daredevil and Jessica Jones, but tried and gave up on the rest from that list above.

Jonathan Giles

As long as we get Daredevil Jessica Jones and the Punisher I'm happy lol. The rest are meh in my opinion

JayyDTR

IMO, it's really not worth watching it all. I'm stunned people want reactions to everything on this list... Apart from Daredevil, Punisher and JJ, the overall quality significantly drops.

Eve

Since you mentioned you want to watch other shows (and I think that is also the best for your channel to avoid marvel overload), I suggest the shortest route: DD1, DD2, Defenders, DD3.

calum1

Oh GOD I knew this was gonna happen when the marvel fans went crazy for daredevil that it was just a ploy to trap you in this predicament. Let me tell you that some of these other shows are actually terrible watches, please please just watch daredevil 3 seasons. There’s so many better shows out there that i think most people would rather you get to watch, than slog through some absolute ass marvel content that pretty much all got cancelled just to completely understand a pretty average storyline.

Chen

Daredevil season 3 wouldn't make sense without watching The Defenders first, so my suggestion for finishing the Daredevil Saga would be watching DD S2, Defenders, DD S3.

Ren

Daredevil Season 3 is a direct sequel to Defenders, unfortunately you need to watch this one. I also recommend watching the first season of Jessica Jones to obviously meet Jessica and also Luke Cage, two of the main characters of Defenders. Iron Fist is garbage, you don't have to watch this The order i recommend is: Daredevil Season 2 Jessica Jones Season 1 Defenders Daredevil Season 3

Christian Fierro

It appears the people have spoken. Good luck Nat, you've bitten off quite a bit more than anticipated it appears. But it will be a fun journey nonetheless. Cheers and have a great day

R. Chang

Daredevil is great, but there's a lot of mediocre to bad stuff in all of the Netflix/Defenders stuff. I wouldn't go too deep, personally. Maybe just Daredevil and Jessica Jones

Jordan Love

Everyone is doing The Boys right now. Personally I can watch only so many reactors watch the same thing at 1 time, and as she's already late to the game, why rush to it now?

Fred Aczon

This. Luke Cage is introduced in Jessica Jones season 1, so you don't have to necessarily watch his show before Defenders. Like everyone else says, Iron Fist is not good.

Ian

Personally I didn't like the defenders at all perhaps that's because iron fist was in it 🤷 I dread the thought of watching iron fist again lol but Jessica Jones season1 , all three daredevils and both seasons of the punisher would be great the rest not to bothered about tbh but if you watch then I watch . Looking forward to the finale tomorrow and the surprise on Friday 🥳

Josh Hess

If you do decide to watch daredevil seasons back to back you have to watch defenders in between otherwise you might be confused at the beginning of season 3 Go season 1 then season 2 the. Defenders then season 3 then watching defenders yiu can see which characters you like

Philip Davetas

Iron Fist? Poor, poor Natalie. Who knows? Maybe you'll dig it.

Trevor

If you want to watch everything, that order is great. In my opinion, you can skip some stuff as these are big watches (all but Defenders is 12-13 hours). To hit the really good stuff i would do the following: DD S1 JJ S1 DD S2 DEFENDERS PUNISHER 1 DD S3 Depends on how much time you want to commit. John Bernthal's Punisher and Daredevil season 3 are peak television for me. PUNISHER S2

Jhon Doe

People really want her to react to iron fist lmao

Garrett Henderson

Do not watch Iron Fist or Defenders. In fact drink heavily until you forget they exist. Irredeemably bad.

Chen

I also only like those shows you mention, but I can live with Nat only checking out 3 seasons of Daredevil first (maybe add Defenders to understand Daredevil S3).

Kev Martin

There's some haters out there for some shows but I feel like you wouldnt be among them. I kind of feel the hate feeds off itself, with some people's beefs having their origins in the complaining they've heard from others. I'd suggest following the listed viewing order till youve done Punisher S1. Then decide which of the shows you want to continue with beyond that, as the intershow continuity is not really a big deal from that point on.

Ortizmo

I’m in the obvious minority here in saying that pretty much all the Marvel Netflix shows were top notch. Defenders was a wonderful payoff. 👍

Travis Starnes

I disagree with people telling you the other shows are terrible. Jessica Jones is great. Even before the defenders, you're going to start getting crossovers that will need the other shows to all work out (without defenders, for instance, DD season 3 will be confusing, especially at the start)

Peter Yocum

I'm in favor of skipping IF/defenders, also maybe skipping JJ season 2 and/or 3. For that matter, only watch the first half of luke cage season 1 and remain in love with the show. Long live the chief! But I think if nat's going to watch some and skip others, she'd need to either read a summary/recap, or watch a recap, of each show/season she skips, since they all intertwine and are interdependent. Just skipping w/o any idea what happened will be confusing for someone really trying to track the characters and stories. I guess I'd recommend watching these and watching recaps of the others: DD1 JJ1 DD2 LC1 P1 DD3 P2

Steve SG-1

I love this era of Marvel Shows but It's ok to take breaks between seasons and check out other shows.

Benjamin Guan-Kennedy

As mediocre as Iron Fist and Defenders are, it'll be disorienting to watch Daredevil S3 without them. I'd suggest watch the viewing order up until Defenders, then Daredevil S3. If the other shows held your interest enough, you can continue them after finishing Daredevil at whatever pace you want.

Rey

Oh God this is my worst nightmare

Just Shelve It

I’ll second this order. I enjoy all of them, but that’s going to take a long long time to watch.

Kev Martin

And yet there's also plenty of people who dig it. Shockingly, different people have different tastes!

Lobstar

The other shows aren't terrible, it just seems like a little overwhelming with all these shows

Ken W

The problem is most of the other Marvel Netflix shows just... aren't good. I'd rather have you watch better stuff than slog thru those shows just for continuity.

Rey

Please consider taking a break between seasons these shows get more tedious than they do good

tezster

I agree Nat should follow DD S1 with JJ S1. After that, she can reassess how to watch the rest. So many people just want Nat to skip JJ I definitely disagree with - I actually think she'll enjoy it more than DD due to its subject matter.

Lobstar

Just watch Daredevil in order, you won't miss a ton, It would be designed horribly if you wouldn't understand one bit if you haven't watched other shows.

Rey

Fr I never wanna see the hand in any iteration again

Steve J

too many shows. Even averaging 2 a week puts us somewhere in 2024... DD 1-3 & move on. Put the others in a poll later if you're interested in seeing them.

Art_Donaldson

You could literally just watch Daredevil season 1 & 2, the Defenders and then season 3 of Daredevil You won't be missing much out of the other shows TBH

Rey

So much good TV out rn too with steanger things the boys better call saul just to name a few

Erik Stevenson

Oh jesus, if we end up having to sit through all of the rest of the mediocre-at-best Marvel Netflix shows just because Daredevil won a poll... just insanity. The shows are mostly bad. It would take a year to work through all of this. Why would anyone prefer this over just watching other, better, shows?

BoogieWoogie30

Jessica Jones was a pain to sit through. I didn't even bother with the other shows other than Daredevil and the Punisher season 1.

Nocthul

I would suggest to watch the following: - Daredevil S1+S2 - The Punisher S1 - Jessica Jones S1 - The Defenders - Daredevil S3 - The Punisher S2 Optional: - Jessica Jones S2+S3

Rey

Honestly

Matt Gwinn

I'd stick to the suggested viewing order, but you can probably skip Iron Fist and the Defenders and not miss out on anything

Spencer Thurmond

In my opinion Daredevil is the only Netflix Marvel show worth watching. Luke Cage was alright, and I may be in the minority but the rest of the shows are just okay but not really great. Well some of them are just bad to be honest. *cough*Iron Fist*cough*

Ken W

I agree with this 100% It is just too much mediocre TV to hit the couple of high points.

Kev Martin

Agreed. And without the other shows beforehand, I think enjoyment of the Defenders would be significantly lessened. Treat the whole saga as 1 show is the ideal approach. "I only liked this show so YOU shouldn't watch the others" is such an arrogant attitude. People can make up their own minds.

Ferco

I'd suggest to watch the first season of Jessica Jones so you give it a go (I really liked it) and then finish Daredevil Season 2 and 3. I liked Luke Cage, but not that much, I hated Iron Fist and I didn't even tried to watch The Punisher. Right, and the Defenders was... meh.

Steve J

just wait, the Agents of Shield faction is waiting in the wings... SO many amazing shows on the poll(s) that got us here, lets do those instead of slogging through to season 2 of Iron Fist...

jamie jones

Definitely watch them all in order. Its worth it. Theyre all very good. And take whatever breaks you need.

Jordan Love

Season 2 of Iron Fist is in many ways a huge improvement over S1, and has some of the most interesting antagonists of the run after Fisk and you know who.

Rey

Whoever suggested that viewing order might not like you

Geeked Out Nation

Natalie should watch Jessica Jones Season 1, Luke Cage Season 1 and Punisher Season 1 along with Daredevil Season 2 & 3. Anything else would not be worth it. I think most people would really tune the other shows out.

Walter Lopez

I'd say you should watch the first season of all the shows then watch The Defenders. After all that, you should choose which character you'd like to move on to watch in Season 2. Or make another poll after The Defenders, ask us if you should ditch a character's show. I'm really just looking at Iron Fist Lol. I'm just looking forward to watching you watch Daredevil. I've seen it a thousand times so it doesn't matter. It just feels like it might take half a year to get through. LOL

Katie Kiesel

Only the first seasons of jessica jones, luke cage, and iron fist are needed to watch defenders and daredevil s3, but honestly, a two sentence synopsis of matt's part of defenders is really all you need for daredevil season 3

Gerard

You should watch Daredevil season 1 and 2, The Defenders, then season 3 of daredevil. After that you can maybe watch The Punisher season.

RebRox65

I know I've been vocal about these shows but I really do have Natalie's interest here and you guys, I've watched all these shows many times, and some seasons are not great and be honest don't motivate the storyline much. So it's for this reason I say just keep the core timeline and watch shows that keep everything moving along so I suggest DD :S1 JJ:S1 LC: S1 DD: S2 DEF, P:S1, DD:S3, P:S2 and leave it there, that way the FISK and KAREN storyline plays out and hopefully everyone's happy (like that gonna happen!)

Ilsuk Yang

I voted for the entire Defenders Saga (suggested viewing order), but I would add a caveat. I would say take a short break from the Defenders Saga after you finish Daredevil season 1 and do a short show before you go on to the next thing (Jessica Jones season 1, which has a great villain) in the suggested viewing order. That's just my suggestion, though. If this option wins the poll, you can dive right into Jessica Jones season 1 if you want to

Jason

I think you can follow the viewing order, but just skip Luke Cage and Iron Fist (especially Iron Fist....waste of time lol )

Geoffrey of Monmouth

This poll is insane. It would take well over a year to watch all of these, the majority of which range from less than mediocre to downright dreadful. Like, I'm sorry, but most of the shows on that list are bad.

Kyle Fletcher

I was showing these to a friend and my approach was Daredevil seasons 1-2, Jessica Jones season 1 (which introduces Luke Cage), and you can skip Iron Fist. So my order would be Daredevil 1 & 2 Jessica Jones 1 Defenders Daredevil 3 The rest of the shows in no particular order!

LeSteeler

Please do not waste your time and watch everything. To save u time so u don't have to watch every single show in the Marvel Netflix series here is a recommendation of what to watch that ppl want to see after Daredevil season 1...Daredevil s2, Punisher s1, The Defenders s1 (personally I would not react to the whole szn just the last episode or just watch a YouTube recap of the szn to know where Matt is at going into s3...then Daredevil s3, lastly Punisher s2

Jason

* Daredevil seasons 2 and 3 are getting better and better.

Vincent Valentin

this is my vote as well. The only show thats as good as daredevil is punisher anyway.

Tony Sanson

Honestly, you're done as far as I'm concerned. You've watched the relevant season of Daredevil, time to move on. If you want to watch the rest, then watch the rest but please, PLEASE, don't get bogged down in this mess. Mix it up, take a long break. There are so many other worthy projects out there worth a watch.

Arronax06

According to the schedule posted in the Daredevil S1E11 post, episode 13 will be on Thursday :)

Frankie Crews

Iron First is not worth the watch. My order would be Daredevil seasons 1, Jessica Jones season 1, Daredevil 2, Luke Cage 1, Defenders. After that, decide if you want to continue any of the shows and, if so, watch them in any order you wish to.

UngawdlyJish

This is difficult. I voted for Suggested Viewing. I love all these shows, except Iron Fist. I feel Nat would love Jessica Jones. And I think Luke Cage is fun. Punisher is amazing, and I feel would get some great reactions from Nat. But its A LOT to commit to and I don't want it to eat up all your reaction content. But yes, if you do plan on watching more DareDevil, I do suggest watching all the shows in order. They do play off each other and sometimes characters do show up in other shows.

Anthony Baker

I would suggest Jessica Jones S1, Daredevil S2, The Defenders, and Daredevil S3. Luke Cage and Punisher are introduced in this order and everything you need to know about Iron Fist is summed up in the beginning of The Defenders.

Jordan Love

Oh come on, i can kinda understand people not liking Iron Fist S1 (personally i love most of the supporting characters in that show way more than the lead, but whatever) but on the whole they are way better than Inhumans, and I'd argue supperior to most of AoS, Runaways and Cloak and Dagger, all of which are all fun and creative shows.

David Crabtree

The suggested viewing schedule is fine, although the only non Daredevil show I watched was Jessica Jones season and I followed along just fine. Defenders is a must before Daredevil season 3 though.

John

I would say suggested viewing order but with a caveat. Thats ONLY up until the Defenders, After defenders I wouldnt say you need to follow the viewing order anymore unless you show an interest in the shows. I would PRFER you get through Daredevil first, but Defenders is kinda needed, and Id rather you atleast get introd into all the characters so you have a better chance of liking and reacting well to the Defenders . (I dont even know if youll want to react to JJ, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage, maybe just watch them in your own time if you dont think theyll make good content?)

Albiezushi

Suggested viewing! Buuuut skip Iron Fist, its so mid

Nizawach

I totally agree. For full understanding of Daredevil you should watch 1 - 6, then 11 on your list. Plus Jessica Jones season 1 is a nice change of pace and tone between season 1 and 2 of Daredevil.

Nathan Smith

Maybe take a break between each? That’s a lot of tv and not everyone loves these shows.

LeSteeler

The Punisher is too good to skip

Kyle Fletcher

Only suggestion is that Punisher is optional and can be watched last since he isn't in the Defenders

Jacky Liang

Yeah agree with many other comments on here - watching everything on that list is too much. Iron Fist in particular is not very good. Just Daredevil or a shorter list that skips mediocre seasons would be fine

jamie jones

“Jamie, if you want to pretend the shows are "exceptionally great" nobody is saying you can't live in that fantasy world. We'll see if the crowd actually agrees with you when this is put in a poll, LOL.”- LOL indeed.

Joshua Kon

Poop better than shit isnt exactly the comparison thats good for a reactor. These shows got cancelled because of HOW BAD THEY ARE!!! There is so much better tv content out there for natalie to react to thats not these turds. it would be a waste of time and her money potential to react to all of these

Dennis Macko

Most of the other shows are just a waste of time.

Kyle Fletcher

I think Jessica Jones season 1 was phenomenal and better than Punisher overall, but I enjoyed both. Ultimately nothing outside of my list is essential if she just wanted to watch these and call it quits. At that point she could look into individual shows if she was interested in learning more about a particular character.

Tay Schumaker

Yep, there is so much you can skip

Tay Schumaker

Yep, DD and Punisher are about all that's worthwhile

Brian Kidling

I am happy daredevil won over Arcane but I would rather see you watch arcane than slog through these bad netflix marvel shows. It would be a waste of your time and potential revenue to do more than daredevil IMO. Especially with bigger shows out there that have actually positive qualities about them

zehloani

I voted for the suggested viewing order because its the the best chronological experience. That said, I don't think you have to commit to the whole saga. Iron Fist S1 is the least admired of them. And Defenders is mixed. I'd say go through Luke Cage S1. Make a separate decision about IF1 and Defenders. And then see if you want to continue. I think you can divide it into "Volumes" with DD1 through Defenders as Vol. 1. (w/ or w/o Iron Fist). If you decide you like the Punisher character (who we meet earlier) you'll know if you want to continue with that season.

Erik Stevenson

Yeah way more people in the Patreon seem to want to kill Nat's Youtube channel. Can't wait to see her views tank when you've forced her to post First Time Watching Iron Fist. Congrats.

Brian Kidling

Seriously. Its also a bunch of storylines that ended without any conclusion because their quality was just so bad it all got cancelled. That would be a huge diservice to natalie to have her watch these shows

Erik Stevenson

It's incredibly telling that in the comments, half the people saying they voted Suggested Viewing Order are also calling out seasons/shows that are bad and can be skipped.

Eryk Klukaczyński

Well, good for those who like these, but for me such a disappointment, but I knew when Daredevill won the poll it will be like this. Daredevil S01 and S03 are masterpieces, Jessica S01 I also Good and even Luke Cage S01 has some charm but the rest meh. It looks like in near future Mondays and Tuesdays won't be for me, I hope at least that Thursdays and Fridays won't be taken by those series. :(

Brian Kidling

I wish there was just a "stick only to daredevil option".

Jordan Love

Tell me about it. And since when did people hate Luke Cage? Sure it's not quite as good as DD1 or JJ1 but i don't remember anyone hating on it at the time like the internet did on Iron Fist S1, but now there seem to be many people telling her to skip it. Like Nat isn't going to enjoy Mike Colter taking his shirt off over and over?

KoolKamal

Very difficult to suggest because having watched it all you know which shows aren't that good but at the same time even with hindsight, reflecting on it and with the way MCU is pretty much all the same, having something different, I don't regret watching all of them. Daredevil 1, Jessica Jones 1, Daredevil 2, Luke Cage 1, (some of Iron Fist lore needs to be known to understand Defenders but maybe you could just watch a youtube series overview of Iron Fist to understand how he ties into it.), Defenders, Punisher 1. After that you can decide how much you enjoyed Jessica Jones and Luke Cage to see if you're that vested in watching the rest of their shows but Daredevil 3 and Punisher 2 I'd definitely recommend.

Nocthul

Yes but Karen is in The Punisher + it is to good of a series to skip imo

Brian Kidling

Atleast we arent watching arcane

Andreas Froby

Do what people that have watch it before think is best. But I voted just watch DD becasue I watched DD with for the first time now with you and I really watch to watch some more DD!

Mikkel Juul Thomsen

That viewing order is fine, but stop as soon as you don't feel like watching any more. Personally I would only watch the first 4 points on that list. It gets pretty mediocre after that (it actually starts halfway through Luke Cage S1 :) )

Rime Pendragon

Just watch Daredevil, Jessica Jones and the Punisher. You can skip the Defenders, Luke Cage and especially Iron Fist.

Erik Stevenson

That's Option 2. "Check out the other shows later" is extremely noncommittal and implies those would also be up for a poll.

Mastervodo

I have a feeling that if you do end up slogging... and I mean SLOGGING through every season of every show... you are going to end up regretting ALL the time you could have been spending on other shows. But, if you insert other things in-between some shows, might be OK. Maybe get ARCANE (only 9 episodes and all great) out of the way before starting another season? I love MARVEL too - but lets be honest - A lot of these people voting for more and more marvel series haven't seen ARCANE.

Daniel McGuinness

You can really just skip Luke Cake, Iron Fist, and Punisher. Their plot points are explored in other shows (Jessica Jones, DD S2, The Defenders) and it’ll help you speed things up for the best viewing experience

Brian Kidling

Most people who've watched it are incredibly biased and dont think about the reactor. 70% of these shows are bad, really bad. But fans will excuse it because a logo that says marvel

Brian Kidling

This 10000%. These are D level shows that got cancelled mid story. There isnt any final pay off and id say outside DD and S1 JJ the quality is outright terrible. You'd attract no new viewers over time let alone personal enjoyment

Mike Arrison

Daredevil 1-2 Jessica Jones 1 Luke Cage 1 Defenders 1 Daredevil 3 Punisher 1&2 Iron Fist is white-washed trash. Don’t even bother. If you like Luke & Jess, do their 2nd seasons after or before Punisher. Punisher’s two seasons are the least connected, but you need the context of Daredevil S2 before you start

Erik Stevenson

SouloBoy143 - what is it about me saying "in the comments, half the people saying they voted Suggested Viewing Order" that you do not understand?

George Baxter

In all honesty I would suggest just watching Jessica Jones season 1, the rest of Daredevil and the two seasons of Punisher. But everyone has their preferences… frankly it’s too much to watch ALL this stuff!!

zehloani

except that it got 2 seasons. The second was better than the first (but so is a colonoscopy)

Jordan Love

Can a poll go badly? You might not get what you want but the whole point of a poll is to see what everyone wants. Just because you're in the group with the loudest voices doesn't mean the silent majority shouldn't get their say.

Kevin Mowery

I voted for the suggested order because it's more or less release order, and that'll probably be the best experience. But I also voted for it because my "other" option would be "skip Iron Fist and Defenders, and when you see Matt in a different place at the beginning of season 3 than he was in at the end of season 2, just assume it was because of Defenders," and I know that one isn't going to happen.

Nic Benham

I will say though you could swap Jessica Jones and go straight into DD season 2 I believe. It would be well worth it as season two for me is a highlight season of all these shows.

Aaron L

You can hop in to season 2. You have to watch defenders before season 3 though.

john collins

I'm in the camp of only watch DD Jessica and Punisher. As long as you kinda know who the other characters are it won't make a huuuge difference and the other shows were just bad, IMO, they felt like filler. I feel like you could be spending that time watching other things that are much better, even if the heavy marvel fans aren't as happy.

Stephen Ray

I couldn't finish season 1 of Luke Cage or Iron Fist. I don't think I missed anything significant.

Erik Stevenson

I'm literally talking about the comments - people are saying they voted for Option 1 and then also saying Iron Fist is terrible don't watch it. If you don't want to read the comments, thats fine, but what I've said is objectively accurate.

Ryan

The best viewing order is DD 1 JJ 1 DD 2 LC 1 Watch an Iron Fist recap video Defenders Punisher 1 DD 3 Then just move on to new series from there, honestly past DD3 your viewership for these videos will fall off a cliff, hell it’ll fall off a cliff with Luke Cage but DD3 is worth pushing through for. If you’re really into JJ, and I think you will be, you can just watch her final seasons in your own time (their not terrible) and focus on shows that’ll get you some views, I vote for Arcane.

Ste Rawlings

Outside of Daredevil a few episodes of Punisher and a couple of episodes of Jessica Jones the shows are really not very good at all.

Eryk Klukaczyński

Well it's just your opinion BRO :) In great calculus of multiverse it doesn't matter. You can like bad scenarios like in 50% Netflix marvel shows (not including D1, 1/2 D2, D3 and JJ1) and I'll like one of the best written animated TV series of all time :) But you know this is also only my opinion that you can disagree with and it will still doesnt matter to me :) ps. sorry for my grammar, I'm not the native user of english and don't have time to check it out.

Kev Martin

To the folks saying its all too much, it will take a year and a half to get through, I respectfully disagree. So what if it takes a while? I'm sure Natalie would intersperse it with plenty of other reactions. It's a saga and I see Natalie as someone more attuned to continuity and crossovers than most. Watching effectively just the highlights (according to your personal tastes) is never the same as watching the whole show properly.

Alvin Baca

When will you get into DC stuff? Marvel is my favorite but DC has some of the best comic book movies in my opinion. Would love to see your reaction to man of steel or watchmen

K.N.

Well this was what I feared would happen when Daredevil won the poll. That somehow 10 other seasons of Marvel shows would be shoe-horned in.

Erik Stevenson

Because it will take years and is also mostly bad TV.

Marc Ammundsen

I voted for just Daredevil, with a caveat that you should watch The Defenders too. That show isn't brilliant, but necessary to Matt's plot and character arc across the Daredevil shows is all. The rest is middling so while a fan, not sure I'm keen to rewatch it all tbh. Bit too much of a big commitment for you too. Let's avoid as reckon there are other things we can all enjoy?

Keeks

Nah don't skip Luke cage. Iron fist yes skip maybe lmao

PandaLeHey

Give the marvel fans an inch and they take a mile. Daredevil can be watched without swapping between the other shows. Plus the other marvel shows after their first season are trash.

Richard Maurer

So the poll is going badly because you don't want it to happen. Got it.

Ryan

Other than DD and the first season of Jessica Jones, these really aren’t good shows and seeing her get bogged down in them like countless reactors before her would be a waste. It’s a known fact that past DD2 these shows don’t bring in the views.

Keeks

Take Iron Fist off the list and you'll be good. It's seriously bad

Mike Hell

I think it'll be easier if you just go through the whole Netflix MCU shows (slowly) than trying to jump around skipping certain shows. It's just going to be confusing. But it should be understood by all viewers that this is going to be a years-long endeavor; like you say, there are more shows you'd like to watch that aren't MCU. Just watch at your own pace and eventually (in 2025?) you'll be all caught up!

pedantech

Just insert Arcane between Daredevil (Season 1) and Jessica Jones (Season 1) and you're set. It's necessary to fully understand Jessica Jones and Daredevil (Season 2).

Richard Maurer

70% of these shows are bad is 100% your opinion.

Sean

So Daredevil just expanded to multiple shows which will take over a year to get through, huh? That's rough.

Keeks

DD 1 JJ 1 LC 1 Iron Fist Recap Video DD2 Defenders Punisher 1 .....however else you wanna watch after. I just seriously advise against watch Iron Fist. It's a white washed lazy writing nightmare

Ernesto

You are fine with just watching Daredevil and Defenders. Defenders is pretty much Daredevil season 2.5, so needs to be watched. Jessica Jones has a good season one but that was about it. The other shows are not great.

The Jarl

As much as I love season 2 of Daredevil and I can't wait for you to watch it the shows do reference each other somewhat and to understand some aspects I won't mention, it would make more sense to go by release order for your viewing pleasure or at least watch Jessica Jones before watching Luke Cage

Kev Martin

Heaps of people love each of them or all of them. Just because one or some people dont like a show doesnt make it a "bad" show. And continuity is important in a saga like this.

Ziobrando

Between all of these and future Marvel series, I’m honestly getting burnt out by all the superhero content. I know it’s what’s popular and all but let’s have some variety

Eve

Since you mentioned that you didn't know you needed to watch other shows in order to finish DD, dare I say that the winning poll for that has been somewhat.. unfair? It's kinda insane how people want you to watch 10 other seasons of series you probably didn't even know about. Daredevil won the poll. Not Jessica Jones, Luke Cage or the Defenders. The fairest way to go forward might be to put DD2 with other shows on a new poll and go from there.

Troy

I agree with the first four things on the schedule. With Iron Fist, I'm on the fence, as I didn't hate it quite as much as most people, but the guy is an idiot. (There are story excuses for this, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating.) I would just worry about Jessica Jones and Luke Cage first, and then decide from there, as that's a lot to work through already.

Richard Maurer

Soooooooooo many people here with their own agendas (i.e. - to get their shows watched), so many false narratives. Like the MCU, release order, as suggested, is the way to go.

Erik Stevenson

100% agree. If people really want her to watch Iron Fist or Luke Cage or the Defenders, those should each have to win an individual poll.

anthony

Suggested viewing order seems highly unnecessary imo. There is really NO NEED to watch those shows to understand DD in the later seasons, this is kind of overkill.

Troy

Hmm. I never watched it because I wasn't super enthused about season one, but maybe I'll give it a go; though I may just wait and see if Nat watches it or not. Some of these TV series I'm finding more palatable if I just watch it first alongside her reaction.

Daniel Molina

Its sort of depends on what you want to get out of the viewing experience. If you want to get everything this part of the universe has to offer (and sadly not all of the shows are as good as daredevil) then yeah you have to watch all of if. However, if you just wanna follow matt’s journey, you can get away with Daredevil seasons 1 & 2, Defenders, then Daredevil season 3. I prefer the 2nd options just because the other shows can be enjoyed at a later time and you can steer clear of the bleh ones :)

simon.shoots

Only Jessica Jones though, the rest were awful 😂

DDK

Soo, I’m a fan of the MCU and most of the Marvel Disney plus shows, and I’m enjoying Daredevil so far, but I do worry about you getting burned out on Marvel content, especially since I’ve heard mixed reviews about the later seasons of most of these shows, and even the first season of Iron Fist. I lean towards just doing Daredevil and seeing how you feel, or at the very least breaking these shows up over a longer period of time. I’m biased because I haven’t seen all of these, but…I feel like there’s a reason for that? I love Marvel stuff in general but I need solid writing and character development to get engaged and I’ve heard iffy things about like seasons 2 and 3 of a lot of these shows. Hope that helps a little, either way really been enjoying your content!🙂

John Hoffler Jr.

I’d watch DD S1… DD S2… JJ S1… Defenders and then DD S3. That’ll give you an overview of most of the plot and is all the good stuff

Rich House

Even the entire MCU up to this point is half the viewing time as these 13 seasons. Honestly don't know what people are thinking voting for this much of a commitment.

Richard Maurer

While IF is probably the least of the Netflix shows, that doesn't make it bad. I found it to be watchable, with season 2 being considerably better than 1. The main weakness of the show is the actor who plays Iron Fist. With a better actor the show could have been really good.

Ryan

Honestly I just want you to watch Jessica Jones season 1, the DD series is great and I’m happy to watch with you. But anything past DD 1-2 and JJ 1, is a big meh from me, I really wouldn’t care if you dropped the Netflix series completely after that. But I am very much looking forward to watching JJ with you.

Faith

Follow your heart! I’m down to watch what YOU want to watch. Personally, I hope you stick with DD, watching all of the shows sounds like a huge time suck and it’s not necessary to understanding DD’s plot

Eduardo

Lmao. This was the obvious result of what was going to happen when people voted to have her start Daredevil and now the people who voted are complaining that it's happening.

Essero Eson

If you're gonna watch the Mini-MCU, you gotta watch it in order.

Ryan

Agreed, Arcane then JJ then DD2. It’s the only approved watch order.

Ilsuk Yang

I wouldn't say they were all top-notch, but I enjoyed all of them. I would actually say the worst of the bunch is Luke Cage (don't like Luke as a character and there's a huge drop-off in quality after the first half of season 1). I do agree with others that say that Iron Fist is a huge mess, but it was an enjoyable mess to me (and that's kind of the point). Also, I think a lot of the people who don't like Iron Fist don't like it because they don't understand the character of Danny Rand. Daredevil and Jessica Jones are easily the two best shows of the Defender saga and the Punisher is a mixed bag (season 1 is great and season 2 is the opposite). The Defenders was a missed opportunity, but still enjoyable enough. I do hope that Nat takes a break after each season, though. I think if she just pushes through all these seasons (in release order), one after the other, that she will get overwhelmed. A break between each season will allow her to do other shorter shows, or a season of something not Marvel-related.

Rob

Seems like such a time commitment just to watch the show Daredevil.

Richard Maurer

I believe Natalie can handle Punisher. It's not horror movie torture porn, after all.

jamie jones

People love to complain. However 90% of people do not participate in comment sections. The negative comments do not represent the majority. Just the angry.

Joshua Milus

Nat - you're big into character stuff (so am I), so I'm here to warn you: you're gonna feel a big "meh" out of Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Defenders. I watched all the way up to the second-to-last episode of Defenders and quit (with ONE to go!) because I just didn't care. Watch DD1, JJ1, maybe Punisher 1 (though it's pretty violent, and you don't like breaking bones, of which there is a lot). If you like them, maybe come back and try season 2, but beyond that I think you're wasting your time.

j4zmon

Honestly just stop now, those storylines will never matter to the main MCU. For all 150+ more hours of meh TV you'd have to watch to catch up, the only connection they've ever bothered with is a 1 minute cameo in Spider-Man No Way Home and a 3 episode guest spot in Hawkeye, neither of which required watching the Netflix shows in order to understand. The people on here voting for the entire run of shows are sadists.

Richard Maurer

Operative word here is currently. They are probably testing the waters with DD, if it goes well they will consider the others. And I heard somewhere they are definitely interested in doing Punisher.

Ilsuk Yang

From what I can see, Agents of Shield has done very poorly in previous polls, so I doubt that Nat will watch it any time soon, or at all.

Brian Kidling

No that fanbase was way too toxic during the last vote to be given a reaction too.

Patrick

Here is the order you should go with. -Daredevil Season 1 & 2 -Punisher Season 1 -The Defenders -Daredevil Season 3 -Punisher Season 2 Then you can go back and watch any of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist if you are interested in them enough from their appearances in The Defenders

Richard Maurer

@JayyDTR - Yes, it's shocking that people like shows you don't like. How is that even possible?

Brian Kidling

The shows are horrible outside DD and JJ s1. Not to mention all of them got cancelled mid story so at the end there isnt happy pay off but more of a incomplete mess thatll annoy someone spending so much time.

Joshua Milus

Also: don't worry about the poll (looks like most people want you to watch EVERYTHING). This is your channel. It's successful because we enjoy watching you enjoy stuff. I'm pretty confident you're not going to enjoy even half of the suggested viewing list.

Ilsuk Yang

I don't know. She can barely handle Daredevil at times and the Punisher is way more gruesome than Daredevil. I can just imagine how much screaming she'll be doing when watching the Punisher! There'll probably be a lot of looking away from the screen and/or covering her eyes, too

Richard Maurer

I want her to react to it just to annoy all the people who don't want her to react to it.

Brian Kidling

It represents the one with respect to the reactor

Danishprince

Or perhaps because a lot of people actually like the other shows? Imo Both Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are more enjoyable than Daredevil. Only Iron Fist is meh

Onno Smits

I agree completely with what Joshua has said here.

Brian Kidling

The actual audience review scores and weak viewership leading them to get cancelled says otherwise. There are people that like them, but people also like obi-wan and riverdale. People like shitty content all the time, but why pidgeon hole a reactor to it?

PrayTellCaesar

Honestly... I've only seen Jessica Jones s1 and I'd love for you to check that out but honestly none of the other shows besides dare devil actually interest me

Hairy Potter

As others have said, DD1->DD2->JJ1->maybe defenders->DD3. Jessica Jones season 1 was pretty good on its own. It also introduces some characters on the defenders. Defenders was kind of a typical superhero trope show. The ending ties into the beginning of DD3. But the show was definitely way too long for its own good IMO. Luke Cage and Iron Fist are pretty much skippable. You might be wondering who some of the characters on the defenders show are from skipping but they kind of reintroduce them anyway and they aren’t super important. Punisher was good but it’s not a necessary watch for daredevil season 3. Pretty much other than DD1-3, Jessica Jones season 1, and punisher season 1, all the other ones aren’t that well received from what I’ve seen. I was okay with JJ season 2 but I definitely see why other people don’t like it. Also consider the time you want to spend on this. DD was recommended because he showed up in Spider-Man no way home directly, which makes him a canon character. And Fisk was in Hawkeye. I heard that Jessica Jones will show up in another Disney plus show soon. Overall, there’s absolutely no reason to sit through 50 hours of mediocre or bad shows just for the two seconds character development when marvel hasn’t begun trying to adapt the materials, since that was the whole reason you began on this route. There are other TV shows with better quality and wider audiences. Jack reacher on Amazon was good. Upload season 1 was fun; season 2 went to the shit but I hope season 3 will get good. I saw people recommending the boys too. But I remember seeing on discord that you’ve seen season 1, which is pretty much the only good season to me. Season 2 began to go downhill and I just straight up dislike season 3…

Brian Kidling

She said if she did the whole list she's take breaks between each season for shows she wants to do

matthew h

I'm surprised there's so many votes to just view everything. Having seen them all, Daredevil stands well above the others. I've enjoyed some of the other shows' seasons for various reasons but none are essential viewing. However, I do think Defenders should be placed in there with Daredevil.

Richard Maurer

OMG, after reading this comments section I think Natalie should do a poll with every different option mentioned here because I'd like to see a poll with 150+ options.

Brian Kidling

Now that I think about it I bet people, like arcane fans, are voting to just stick to suggested order because natalie mentioned taking breaks inbetween seasons for other shows. They think its their way to get their show after DD S1 so they'll vote the option that is fundementally worse for Natalie....

Hairy Potter

I couldn’t finish episode 2 of Luke Cage either. I finished both season of Iron Fist, and no you didn’t miss anything.

Ally Driver

daredevil doesnt get better after season 1, it gets so pointless and dumb.

Richard Maurer

That's easy, we want Natalie to watch these shows. You obviously want to watch something else, something I most likely wouldn't prefer to these shows. Is that clear enough for everybody?

Brian Kidling

S2 is pretty average. There are strong parts to S3. The major issue with all these netflix marvel shows is they got cancelled mid way through plots. So there is 0 satisfying ending

Ryan

^ bait

Richard Maurer

Glad everyone knows what Natalie will or will not enjoy.

Friendly Trumpet

I'd personally say just condense the above list down (keeping the same order, removing most of the seasons), keeping Jessica Jones S1 and maybe Luke Cage S1 but otherwise only Daredevil, Punisher, and The Defenders. Honestly maybe not even the Defenders, as much as DD3 is post-Defenders and it matters for the opening / context of the third season.

jamie jones

Ally, Youre just crying cause youve been begging for obiwan since before it came out.

Rich House

If the Arcane voters had the power to win a poll against Marvel fans we wouldn't be in this position.

Wu Sha Ling

i have no stake in this subgenre of mcu. it would not be terrible to put a pause on the whole thing for a month and watch a mini series. you will always have it in your backpocket

Friendly Trumpet

My personal recommended order (based on not finishing or even bothering to start most of the seasons listed in the full set) is Daredevil 1, Jessica Jones 1, Daredevil 2, Luke Cage 1, Punisher 1, Defenders, Daredevil 3, Punisher 2 BUT Luke Cage and Defenders are easily the weakest of those and Luke Cage at present only serves to help set up Defenders, which mostly just sets up some of Daredevil 3 and was a pretty weak show in its own right. So a strong consideration especially for that still being a lot of Marvel TV could definitely be given to skipping either or both of Luke Cage and Defenders as well and just doing Daredevil (all), Jessica Jones (first), and Punisher (all). Daredevil is definitely the best show of the group overall, but S1 of Jessica Jones is to me second only to S1 of Daredevil for the best individual season, and I hold both seasons of Punisher above Daredevil S2 (the weakest of the three IMO)

minuteforce

In my opinion, the only season you need to watch after "The Defenders" is S3 of "Daredevil". In my view, you'd only be watching the whole initial "Defenders" arc so that S3 can make sense

Joey Johansen

Jessica Jones was fun, and people seemed to like the Punisher as well. Not sure about the others but variety is a spice they say.

Bpark

Even though every fiber of my being is like WATCH SEASON 2 NOW because I love it so much - it's easier to just do the suggested order. Also Jessica Jones Season 1 is top notch and I think everyone will be excited for it.

Michael Rockenfelder

As much as I want to get to S3 of DD, it's better to watch it all.

Zairan Brown

The Defenders and Punisher are the only necessary “extra” shows. JJ, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage are boring and add nothing to the Daredevil show.

—thoughtstorms—keith—

That is a good order. Although honestly I tell people not to bother watching iron fist unless they are absolute completists. There are some good performances and a few decent story moments but the only worse marvel live action is the inhumans. My suggestion is to do the order you listed, but skip iron fist. Or not. The villains are pretty great, and I like his girlfriend a lot.

Christopher

If your plan is to eventually watch those other shows, then I’d suggest watching them in their release order, there are stories that cross between shows and it could be jarring to jump back and forth between the timeline.

Eric Janssen

Translation: "Can we skip Iron Fist?" It's the one that even Netflix Marvel fans hate, and yes, it's actually WORSE than Shang-Chi. (In fact, when MCU tried to kiss up to China, we probably would have gotten a real Iron Fist, if not for lingering producer rights on this loser.)

Jomero

Not everyone loved all the Netflix shows of the mcu. To demand you watch them all just for some minor context in a few scenes is a pretty big and unfair ask. With Deadpool, it was a bit more necessary to watch several other movies. But for this show? Not so much.

Peter Z

If you decide to continue with a focus on Daredevil first I'd recommend seasons 1 & 2 back-to-back, but definitely interject The Defenders before season 3, as the beginning of the third season can be super jarring without those events.. Then if you're intrigued by any of the other title characters, maybe go back and watch each of those story lines from their respective beginnings? It is a lot of specifically Marvel content to cover as they're series rather than encapsulated films. (this was the first response I've posted on the Patreon, thought I'd test the waters here and add; I do really enjoy experiencing all the content you share and it always seems to lift my mood with your friendly and genuine nature!)

Jordan Love

Unfair? To whom? If Natalie wasn't willing to watch them she wouldn't have it in the Poll. If you don't want to watch them, don't watch them. She'll put out plenty of other content throughout, nobody's asking her to power through them all in 1 go.

Sean

I'm more irritated that we took a vote as a community and now the winners of that vote are demanding more. I didn't vote for Daredevil but I was okay with it because I'd never seen it and it was a fair vote. Demanding more is insulting to those of us who didn't vote for "Daredevil and other shows (mostly with bad reputations)".

JayyDTR

Wow it's almost as if I said at the very beginning it's my opinion. If you like it all, more power to you... But eating up that much time that could be going to other reactions is crazy to me, again IMO.

James finneran

All the series are 13 episodes each. So depending on what you feel like doing. I would have a few weeks break between each show.

Joe M

If you want to get to Defenders but are suffering from MCU Fatigue (symptoms may vary), you COULD skip Jessica Jones S1 and Luke Cage S1. They're both fantastic shows and worth your time IMO, but the characters are introduced pretty well in the Defenders.

Joe M

Many people might suggest skipping Iron Fist S1. I don't blame them, but the entire 3rd act leads directly into The Defenders and it's overall plot.

Brian Kidling

I just cant believed there isnt someone close to natalie that will explain to her how badly reviewed this other marvel shows are. Like no research done for her benefit

Megan

I love Daredevil. I have seen all 3 seasons multiple times. I've seen the first Punisher season once and only watched it after finishing Daredevil, lol. And I have never watched Iron Fist, Defenders, or Luke Cage - and I've only seen a handful of Jessica Jones S1 episodes. I think as long as you can make inferences, you don't need to watch the other ones. Tbh I don't think most of them are worth watching. IMO they were very slow and not nearly as good as Daredevil.

History Nuggets

Some are stronger than others, but I think you'll enjoy the whole experience. The order looks good.

Travis Starnes

But, if you've never watched them, how would you know they're slow and not worth watching?

Narutoanime16

That is a good viewing order for sure I enjoy all the shows and the realism they present

Andrew Minton

I would suggest watching Daredevil, Jessica Jones & The Defenders full series in whatever order you prefer. I tried Luke Cage & Iron Fist for almost a full season each, think you'd be better off skipping them (especially Iron Fist).

Brian Jones

There has been no indication from Marvel or Disney, in any way whatsoever, that they plan to continue with those other characters. If they eventually do, then sure, if Nat wants to, watch the shows. But none of them are required viewing to enjoy Daredevil. I get it Richard, you're clearly a fan regardless of the quality, but anyone with even a remote sense of honesty, regardless of how diehard they are as a fan, would be willing to admit the vast majority of this content (outside of JJ season 1, and maybe Punisher season 1) was pretty bad, if not outright awful.....smh

Joao

You can skip iron fist lol

Jacketb

Honestly besides DD1 and JJ1 these shows were mostly crap

Ally Driver

A show far better than s2 & s3 of daredevil lmfao

Brian Jones

@Richard Maurer There's "having different opinions" regarding a show, and then there is "being in complete denial of reality when something is outright bad". For much of this content, it's you doing the latter.

Jordan Love

That's nonsense. They were cancelled for many reasons. Disney+ was about to become a thing so the shows would have become advertising for a competitor, they had a steady fanbase but weren't bringing in new viewers to Netflix anymore which is pretty much all they care about, and as the Defenders series showed, any serious crossover would be another production nightmare. It was also a statement that Netflix didn't need anyone else's IP, especially Disney's. But none of those reasons were that the shows were bad or unpopular. If they were they wouldn't be winning this poll for instance.

Narutoanime16

Did you forget about Punisher lol ? that is my fav above em all

Narutoanime16

what did you think of Punisher ? I loved it even tho it was a slow burn and it spoke volumes to war veterens like Saving private ryan did

Matthew Shaver

I would suggest including Jessica Jones & Luke Cage and skip the rest.

Eduardo

sanest marvel fan

Brian Jones

The best season of Punisher was Daredevil Season 2. Enough said.

Narutoanime16

Punisher and Daredevil are my favs and Jessica Jones. I didn't mind Luke cage especially seeing Claire in it more too

Jacob Bryant

DD and JJ are the best of them. Iron Fist is clearly the weakest. Suggested order is the best, but if its too much I'd hit JJ season 1 at the very least before going to DD2

erica

I think you should watch what you want to watch. Always better to watch a reaction from someone when they feel excited rather than obligated. Give the other shows a chance if you want because you might end up liking them. Maybe you should do a poll for each show after the last one ends. Like after JJ s1 put up a poll asking if we want to watch DD s2 or not (people obviously will vote to watch this season but might vote against IF/LC).

MovieGist

I've watched all the Netflix Marvel TV shows except Iron Fist and The Punisher. I honestly agree with Megan. You can enjoy the Daredevil series on its own without having to watch the other shows. Though I have a feeling Natalie would enjoy Jessica Jones.

Eric Janssen

They're NOT MCU. Literally. They have different producers, and as such, despite dropping a few money-lines about "What happened in NY" in the first Daredevil episode, can't tread on each other's canon. Those who gave up on Agents of SHIELD after one season or less know exactly what I mean. That's why Netflix's Daredevil isn't Marvel's Daredevil, because Ben Affleck was, and had to use Frank Miller's comic-deconstructive version instead. If, and I repeat, IF MCU uses Charlie Cox for the new MCU-approved Daredevil (that actually adheres to the comics), then, okay, maybe one out of five dreary, downbeat Netflix shows will retroactively be worth the time and effort spent to try and pretend story connection with actual theatrical films. Anything else is just binge-streaming fandom, and speaking as a male...life's too short.

MovieGist

If she's gonna watch Defenders, then she's better off watching according to the order above.

Saifu

Aside from Defenders, Just watch the other Netflix shows on your own time. It's too big of a commitment to react to all of these.

Joel

I suspect a large number of people (both on Patreon and Youtube) will stop watching after the good seasons of these shows and I just think Nat could be using the limited time she does have to watch much more varied shows/movies. I think everyone would hate if Nat started watching all of these shows and felt obligated to finish them. I know BrandonLikesMovies pretty much got rid of polls to watch more of what he wanted to; sure, it alienates some people, but the important thing is Nat enjoying what she's watching. Recent picks of hers like Euphoria and Ted Lasso have been some of my favourite series she's done

jamie jones

Youre wrong. A) charlie cox is confirmed to return as daredevil. B) krysten ritter is also returning as jessica jones. C)despite having different producers- it was confirmed to be mcu cannon by fiege. Fiege and russos even said the only reason they didnt appear in endgame was logistics. Fiege said it was too hard to incorporate into movies because while they made a movie 2 seasons would go by causing a continuity nightmare. Also you saying they only referenced the MCU in the first episode of daredevil tells me you haven’t watched all these shows as the hulk, thor, the raft and the sokovia accords are all mentioned and thats just off the top of my head.

HeyItsSuper

Honestly just watch all of it. Everyone has different opinions on what season or show is good and bad, though I think almost everyone is on the same page when it comes to Iron Fist and yet I still think you should watch it.

Jorge Alvarenga

Watch DD1 and DD2 followed by JJ1 the Defenders and DD3. That's really all you need as just about all the main characters are introduced in DD and JJ. You get a good intro to Luke Cage in JJ1 and that's really all you need. Iron Fist isn't great and he's introduced well enough in Defenders.

Eric Janssen

Oh, GREAT, so we're still going to have Daredevil trained by "Stick", instead of having radioactive sonar? We're going to be stuck with Netflix's version of the Punisher, instead of MCU canonically rebooting something closer to Ray Stevenson's from "Punisher: War Zone"??

jamie jones

Funny how on every poll people show their true colors. Every.single.time. When ever peoples desired result isn’t winning, they devolve into infants who’ve just had their binky taken away. Expressing an opinion and attacking/lashing out/crying are different. Grow up. I want them all watched, but I wouldn’t be sitting here crying a river if i was losing. Most of the options i vote for lose. Get over it.

jamie jones

It was good. Not even close to daredevil season 3.

Leslie Jensen

While this is a huge commitment and SOME of these seasons are lack luster, it's important to form your own opinion. The people I've noticed that have enjoyed the parts of these shows that others haven't are those not craving that comparison to the comics. TBH, the only seasons that really fell short in entertainment venue were Season 1 of Ironfist and season 2 of Luke Cage.

jamie jones

Not at all. If you had respect for the reactor you would respect her polls and subscribers. The majority are voting a certain way and youre throwing a hissy fit about it. Thats a complete lack of respect.

J.C.G.

Washington died in his old age from disease and medical ignorance, he didn't die "for" anything at all

J.C.G.

Netflix's Daredevil received heightened sensory capabilities from exposure to a chemical spill. Seems to be truly a semantic difference from "radioactive sonar". Training with Stick sometime after that exposure is a matter of character development and plot connectivity. The Punisher as is often depicted in comics was always going to be problematic to portray as the main protagonist in any form, and in my opinion works best as an antagonist or cautionary tale.

Chase Mayer

Idk the other shows will take a long time and aren’t as good or well known but I think either watch them all in order or watch dd s1&2 then defenders then dds3 and also punisher is the second best marvel show behind dd

jamie jones

The only shows in defenders that were reviewed negatively was iron fist season one. If you take your own advice and do some basic research youd see that

Richard Church

I voted for sticking to Daredevil. There's not much in the other series that directly impact Daredevil or spoil them and the one instance of fallout from The Defenders regarding Matt is dealt with pretty quickly in the opening of Season 3. If you want to check out another of the series, I recommend your viewing order be DD1, DD2, the first season of Jessica Jones, Defenders and DD3. But again, you can just stick to DD and you won't be lost when you get to S3 or spoiled on the other shows

Inhale Burrito

I would've went with season 2 right after since that's how we got it. Plus season 2 is great. But luckily Jessica Jones is the next best. Honestly I could do without the other 2.

jamie jones

No one hated luke cage execpt the people in this comments section who are crying that a show of their pick isnt being reacted too

jamie jones

Jessica jones is rumoured for shehulk as well as rumoured for echo. Just like daredevil was rumoured for Spiderman. Brian, youre just a hater. Point out where these shows touched you.

Tomas

I will say the same thing as some of the other commenters... Watch Daredevil season 1 + 2, then Jessica Jones season 1 and possibly Luke Cage season 1 (both seasons are pretty good), then Defenders, and then finally Daredevil season 3 (which is one of the best third seasons of television). I would recommend that you skip Iron Fist entirely as it's really not that good. Likewise with season 2 and onwards of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Punisher season 1 is phenomenal, though, so even though it's not part of the continuity of the other shows, I absolutely recommend that you watch that one as well. 😊 But watch what makes sense to YOU, Nat. Watching all these shows is - as a lot of people have already commented - a HUGE commitment.

Sam

The watching order is correct, however, I think you should decide on your own whether or not you want to react to them all or watch them on your own time. It's obviously a lot to watch and everyone in the comments seems to have their own opinion. Personally, I'd enjoy seeing you react to DD S2, JJ S1, and Punisher S1 and 2, but that's just my preference. I hope you're enjoying your summer!

Sarah P

I would stick to the viewing order, BUT as far as I (and I suspect a lot of other people) are concerned, **YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN SKIP IRON FIST** (Also Punisher IMO, but I know that one is less maligned than Iron Fist.)

N G.

If all these shows aren’t broken up by non-marvel content this would pretty much be a marvel reaction channel for…how many months exactly? Watch what you want but please break up the marvel content from time to time…

abz

I don't think it's a good idea to do all these shows - the first season of Jessica Jones is great but after that everything is seriously diminishing returns.

Captain

The other shows really aren't that great IMO (aside from Punisher) or important to Daredevil's story. You could easily skip them if you prefer. Personally, I'd like to see some more non-MCU reactions.

pedantech

At two episodes per week, it's going to take her a year and a half to get through all of this. Is that a good idea? I'm seriously considering suspending my subscription for a couple of years if there aren't enough breaks between these shows for other content.

Dylan Fee

If you're interested in a compromise between watching *all* the shows and watching just daredevil, you could try something I've done with my ex (who was mostly interested is just watching DD) You could watch DD season 2, then watch defenders, then DD season 3. Because Defenders is basically daredevil season 2.5 and directly follows up DD S2. And DD S3 very directly follows up the end of defenders. If you watch just DD, you'll wonder what's happening at the beginning of S3 and wonder where the S2 plot elements went (they went into defenders). But if you watch *everything*, you're gonna take a long time to wrap up DD (if you find yourself mostly interested in DD). So I came up with this compromise. Definitely fair if you'd rather do either all of it or just DD. Just wanted to throw this idea out there in case it interests you.

Patrick Reynolds

I recommend just watching Luke Cage and Daredevil. I tried watching the other shows, but they never hooked me in like LC and DD did from the first episode.

Ken Matzigkeit

Jessica Jones is awesome, by all means, definitely check that out. Luke Cage, especially season 2, is pretty good too. But be warned, Iron Fist is a slog. You might want to watch season one just for context going into the Defenders but I'd skip season two. Punisher is great as well, but not as good as Jessica's show. If you like Frank in season two of Daredevil it's worth a watch, but isn't really necessary to delve into to get the whole story. It goes off and does its own thing.

Ed Green

I vote for just Daredevil for now. But that should, I believe, include The Defenders, which is set between Seasons 2 and 3 and has Matt in it prominently. It's kind of like Daredevil Season 2.5 but with the other Defenders characters as well. Then personally I hope your next Defenders show would be Jessica Jones, which is my favourite. Also, if the result of this poll is that none of the 3 options get 50%, will there be a runoff or will first pass the post?

jose giron

Tbh the only netflix marvel shows worth watching imo are daredevil, the punisher, and Jessica Jones skip everything else

J.C.G.

Her post does specifically state that if the "watch it all in order" result wins, she will have to break it up to work in other non-marvel media.

Alan Kobb

I haven't seen everything, but Daredevil and Jessica Jones were by-far the best of all of them. Maybe watch season 1 of each and then decide what to do from there. Not as much of a time-commitment, and it kind of matches what the average viewer would do. Maybe you'd want to pursue the rest of Daredevil and Jessica Jones, but like many you might decide to drop Iron Fist and some of the others, or you might decide differently.

pedantech

She says, "I will probably have to take breaks to watch other things in between certain seasons." She said probably. She said between certain seasons. She didn't say how long of a break. I'm just saying, if there aren't plentiful, long breaks, then she's just going to be Natalie Marvel instead of Natalie Gold, and I'll find someone else to subscribe to.

Micah Zimmer

Good grief, Brian. That last poll argument must've really struck a nerve with you. You can let it go now.

Ed Green

6 weeks per show x 13 shows minus 2 weeks each for the shorter runs of Defenders & Iron Fist S2 = 74 weeks. Assuming a typical interim non-Marvel show lasts 1 month, that would mean an additional 12 interim months, which means not finishing Daredevil Season 3 until around 2 years from now. Whereas just watching DD1 & 2, Defenders & DD3 means finishing it in November this year, or February 2023 with an interim month after each season.

Micah Zimmer

Brian, you got into an argument with one person posting on multiple accounts and then projected blame across everyone you disagreed with. You seem to throw an awful lot of stones when you live in a glass house.

Ed Green

I passionately believe in democracy when it comes to the right way to run a country. But this is a Patreon channel, and in that case I believe in the person whose channel it is watching what they want to. So that's 2 votes against votes.

Steve J

Jessica Jones was on a poll. Lost to almost everything that was with it. Now it seems that it will be the next show we watch by default. Little bit of bait-n-switch if we're getting all of this just because DD won the bracket poll. The Netflix Marvel stuff is fine, but all starts to feel kinda... samey? Same-ish plots, same-ish characters, same-ish color palette. All have the episode 5 to 10 lull where nothing seems to happen while waiting for the main conflict of the season to resolve. If our true colors are wanting some variety then yeah, I'm down for that. Will there be stuff in-between? yes. But will still feel like a slog. Knowing we have to get through something like Iron Fist to get to an Expanse or Severance won't help my enthusiasm. For any of these I'd say they should be able to win their own poll at a minimum. Half of these would likely never even get put on a poll.

Paul R Peddy

Honestly you don't really have to watch iron fist season 2

Peter Jones

I'm good with the suggested order and taking breaks for other content. I really want to see you react to Jessica Jones Season 1 . One thing to keep in mind is Disney+ is planning on continuing the Daredevil series, either making more new seasons, or at least continuing with the same actors in the roles. You might want to be caught up with the rest of the Daredevil saga before that comes out, if you're interested.

Anton Agassi

Watch in the suggested order and watch ARCANE in the breaks plssssss

pedantech

Don't forget new shows added in the interim. Daredevil season 4 is supposedly coming out in late 2023, so that's another 6 weeks.

Valentin torres

If not release order, you can watch DDS2 next then watch the S1 of each of the rest: JJ, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Punisher, The Defenders. Then you can watch DDS3. But even if you don’t watch the others, watch Defenders S1 before DDS3. You can go back and watch the rest later

Dante

Welp. Looks like we're going to be watching the defenders saga until 2024. Hopefully, these "breaks" between seasons will be substantial. I'm a huge Marvel fan and love Daredevil and Punisher but even I don't want Nat to have to slog through all of this for years. There are just simply so many better shows out there.

Nick James

holy shit so much marvel. Poll won't exactly be fair since a good amount of people subscribed on patreon are marvel fans so of course watching other shows isn't exactly an option. Please we need a break from marvel and lets watch emmy nominated Arcane!

dieselbeast

I thought this was gonna be a movie poll lmao more movies less series please lol

Joel

This is so much work and time for what’s just like two or three seasons of slightly above average television. There’s so much incredible stuff out there, especially right now with Barry, Severance, Saul, Succession, Under The Banner, and Yellowjackets. Not to mention, the years of genre-defining TV not released in the last ten years

CyandTonic

Please, for the love of god, do not watch all of this. For both our sake and yours 😂 majority of this is mediocre at best, daredevil is great though 🤷‍♂️

jamie jones

Daredevil in the comics was trained by stick, sorry to break that to you.

Tayyib Majumder

All you have to do is watch Daredevil season 2 then defenders then season 3 that’s it defenders contain characters from the other shows but it’s not mandatory that you watch them. I think the only other show wroth watching is Jessica jones season 1 luke cage season 1 and the punisher if you do watch anything else

jamie jones

Jessica jones lost the poll cause we wanted daredevil done first, plain and simple

Travis

If it were me I would watch DD seas 1, Jess Jones seas 1, DD seas 2 and just go straight in to punisher. Punisher is definitely more linked to DD than anything else. Like Cage was pretty good but fades. Iron Fist was objectively mediocre. I couldn’t even get into the subsequent seasons of Jessica Jones. That’s the only problem with these. It’s definitely a mixed bag.

Ben Burnhill

Seems a few people worried about marvel overload. Even some of the weaker ones I feel something will be added to them with Nat’s reaction. But even then, there is Wednesday slots, movie Friday’s and then would propose interjecting a different season of something between the marvel stuff. That way keeps more happy? (never keep everyone happy).

Babawze

i personally disliked Punisher, but that's a good list if you want to watch them all

Preaching to the Horse's Mouth

I'm not really familiar with the shows other than DD. If intention is to do *just* DD then seasons 1, 2, Defenders, then season 3. If the plan is to themselves all than I'm not sure the answer.

Myles Away

You'd be so much more entertained by Arcane and/or The Boys. So well written. Great characters. And top tier production for both. Arcane is easily the greatest animated property in the last 20 years.

Mike Hell

After thinking about it and reading more of these comments, I think committing to the entire Netflix saga is just going to be TOO MUCH Marvel content over TOO LONG of time. Nat should watch the shows that interest her, and I'm sure she could watch some recaps of stuff like Iron Fist and Luke Cage, even Agents of SHIELD. The only way she could make it work is if she did 1 episode per week of Marvel content so she (and the audience) weren't burnt out, but this scenario would take YEARS. To keep up a consistent watch schedule, she might have to only watch a movie every other week, or do "Jessica Jones Week," etc. I don't know what she'll do but I'll be here for it :)

Jayson Phillips

I think its funny, I have 5 other patrons that I support watching movies and all watch the same things, Marvel, Star Wars, Saving Private Ryan...etc...Not sure if they are following some plan or its just the same guys want to watch the same thing over and over and over.

Boticus

As much as I hate to say it, its best to watch all of them. Itll be rough sitting through all of the BS that is some of those shows but S1 Jessica Jones is dope and the Punisher And Like Cage. But after you get to the Defenders you really only need to watch Daredevil S3. Ill stick through those other shows though, who knows I might find I like something I didnt before after watching you see them.

David

Seriously this is so much content and so much of it is just...ok? If they're all around 13 episodes long and we stick to two a week that's 85 more weeks of just the netflix stuff including like...Iron Fist (yawn). SHE HASN'T EVER SEEN THE BATTLESTAR GALACTICA REBOOT! lol

pedantech

Might as well start at the beginning with the 1967 Fantastic Four cartoons and continue from there. There are certainly a lot of Spider-Man cartoons to catch up on.

Jack D

Just do Daredevil, and read/watch a summary of the defenders before season 3. You probably will get burnt out if you force yourself to watch the other shows. If you do watch any of the other series i'd stick with Jessica Jones season 1.

Dissonas

You genuinely don't need to watch the others, most of the time they don't crossover there are only small references and none of them develop daredevils story, however you may only need to watch the defenders but even then season 3 daredevil's doesn't bring it up too much at all. Plus all the shows would be over a hundred hours of content to watch and you really don't need it for daredevil, that being said the other shows are still pretty good.

Kev Martin

For those saying you won't finish it for 2 years etc like its such a bad thing - as a Marvel fan, I'd have to say I see that as a good thing. Interspersed liberally with other content for those who aren't interested so much in Marvel. But I do suggest if you watch all series in order up until Punisher 1 you get a fair view of all the characters and shows and can decide for yourself if you don't like some and drop those.

Ashcroft Production-House

sorry but this comment is just bullshit, there is a lot of crossing over and all the shows help evolve and developed many great character stories such as Claire Temple ( Night Nurse ) gets a lot of great development in Iron Fist and Luke Cage.

UngawdlyJish

Iron Fist recap, genius suggestion!

Burbz

Watch in order but forget about #8. onwards (except DD s3 obviously).

Erik Stevenson

The issue here of course is that there are current, new Marvel shows coming out at a pace of ~4 per year. There was already a lot of Marvel content to react to without adding in 2 years of shows that were cancelled 5 years ago.

SilentBobFather

I found everything afrer the first seasons disapointing. Best of all of rhese IMO is Agents of Sheild.

Pierre Chavez

Daredevil - 39 Episodes (34 Hours) Jessica Jones - 39 Episodes (33 Hours) Luke Cage - 26 episode (26 Hours) Iron Fist - 23 Episodes (23 Hours) The Punisher - 26 Episodes (23 Hours) The Defenders - 8 Episodes (6 Hours) So much time for mediocre to bad shows. Aside from DD, JJ S1 and the Punisher. The other shows are average at best.

DarkLadyofSilver

I would definitely agree with watching them all in suggested order, as just like the MCU they all tie into each other. However, some are definitely much better than others, and you may spend a significant portion of time watching a show you may not even like. However, that is for you to determine when you watch them, and if you find your not enjoying yourself I would have no problem with you stopping midway.

Taff Lewis

Without the middle option, Alternate would have won. Then revote for the favorite alternate order. Watching the order above, by the time you get through Punisher, it should be easy to choose how to continue based on how vested in the characters you are by that time.

jamie jones

Sounds great, bring it on

themightyabe

I'm perfectly fine with taking a break from Daredevil. Tbh, I've been a bit Marvel'd out these last few months. Moon Knight, Dr Strange, Ms. Marvel, Thor, it's all just becoming a bit redundant.

Anthony Broderick

Stick to the order but skip Iron Fist & Luke Cage

Casey Walker

I’m excited to see your reaction to Jessica Jones season 1 but could not care less about anything else here.

Stephen Coleman

I didn't watch Daredevil until it appeared on Disney + and was unaware of any other tie-ins. There was some definite confusion between S2 and S3 as the latter picks up from events that aren't in the DD show, but after a couple episodes, it didn't really seem to matter much as the DD storyline went to a new level of awesome on its own. I'll watch Defenders eventually. As violent as DD was in the first two seasons, not sure I have much interest in watching Punisher or some of the others. (Yes, S2 of DD is more graphic than SI, but still good story/char. development).

thepooman

This is a lot of time dedicated to mostly mediocrity even if DD is amazing. Punisher, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage have a pretty solid set of first seasons but have a drop in quality afterwards and then the dumpster fire that is Iron Fist will be a complete waste of time.

Taff Lewis

very true, but as I wrote "without the middle option". I voted "suggested" not because I thought it was best but because I thought it was better than just DD1-3. I would have preferred to vote for an Alternate-watch order because I trust the collective opinion of this group to come up with a good set if that option won; but since Alternate seemed to have no chance of winning, I went with my second choice. My suggestion was that given only two choices, Alternate would have won. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Christopher Robles

Get to punisher season 1 then stop. Honestly after that pick and choose. Take as many breaks as you want. Season 1 of each character is worth watching. Iron fist is the weakest, however I think k some folks overreact when they say it's bad, it's just weak compared to some amazing season 1 shows from the rest. but Iron Fist is pretty critical to understanding the defenders plot and the team up is fun. If you skip Iron fist read a plot summary of season 1. Jessica Jones is fire and is probably my second favorite show after daredevil in this group.

Kev Martin

Its puzzling isn't it. So many reactors seem to watch all the same movies and shows. I think its great to see someone show an interest in the Netflix Marvel shows. Almost nobody does them.

Kev Martin

I know it may be considered heresy to say this on the Internet, but I prefer to leave the cartoons to the kids they were designed for. Nostalgia alone isn't a good enough reason to watch them, at least not for me.

JD Shick

I think if you're interested in watching the Defenders at some point doing the suggested order makes sense. Otherwise you could just watch Daredevil and get back to stuff like Jessica Jones later which has a fantastic first season.

Bishey

You can watch Daredevil S2 before watching Jessica Jones and then decide after if you want to watch the whole Netflix Marvel Catalogue

Kevin

you're going to HATE iron fist lol

Dissonas

Look Claire Temple really only goes down hill from here. personally I think whoever was in charge of the writing for the other shows made her a very annoying cameo character. Also in daredevil the show really doesn't reference any of the others other than the defenders. but I feel like the writers did a good job of not needing to watch the others to enjoy that series on its own. For the most part daredevil is usually following daredevils morals and understanding of his own character more than it does outside events from other shows.

Reid Ellis

I agree with the order, but also agree you should skip: Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Punisher. You learn enough about Luke Cage in Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist .. is not worth bothering about. Basically, stick to Daredevil and Jessica Jones and you're good to watch The Defenders.

Rey

These shows are so bloated and underwhelming compared to a lotnof great tv shows out there rn. You'd be watching these shows for years I promise it's not worth it

SmokeAndACoffee

I'd say just do Daredevil 1 and 2, then defenders, then Daredevil 3. Can go back and do the others later, but that will get you caught up with Matt and Fisk for whatever they might appear in later.

Justin Wall

I think the suggested viewing order is best or at least thru Punisher S1. After that, it all kinda falls off for me.

iMarks

How I watched Daredevil was, I watched all 3 seasons in a row, then realized that I was missing something at the start of season 3 so I went and watched Jessica Jones and Luke Cage and then Defenders (skipped Iron Fist). You dont really have to watch Jessica Jones to watch season 2. I dont remember JJ adding anything into Daredevil season 2 that would have left me confused or out of the loop.

Javier Vara

Imho you can take a hard pass on Defenders, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones beyond season 1, most Netflix Marvel shows other than DD are pretty much horrible and extremely overextended, ESPECIALLY Defenders, it was extremely painful to watch, only Iron Fist s2 could be even worse xD

JohnnyABC

Hello! A pleasure to share some time here. I agree with Justin, this list has a lot of sizzle and not that much steak. He thought it falls off after Punisher S1, I could see you getting restless after Luke Cage S1. There are an awful lot of great things to watch in the world. The Netflix shows were stretched thin towards the end. Do what you enjoy most. If you're high on DD watch season 2, you wont be a bit lost. Then watch Jess, then Luke and follow the one you like more. I am confident most people here would say there is a lot you could skip on this list and still be shiny.

Arts of TM

Yeeaahh, my opinion, might just be me, but none of the other shows except maybe Punisher are worth watching. They start off alright and then end up getting reaaally drawn out and stretched out. They're not terrible shows, but not worth the watch.

Michael Bergeron

I think way too many people are voting for suggested order because they want her to watch some of the shows in the whole list. Even based on comments people are saying they voted that but then say to only watch certain shows. That’s what the third voting option is for. Think a lot of people messed up this vote.

jamie jones

Or the majority just dont agree with your opinion

Michael Bergeron

I didn’t even say what my opinion is or what I voted for. You are making assumptions. I stated that people are literally commenting that they voted for suggested order but then stating only certain shows in that order should be watched. Basically saying they should have voted for the third option then and not what they voted for.

Riolkin

Looking at this list, I don't think I watched all of this. I think I quit after the Defenders, although I did watch Punisher S1. My opinion therefore can only be limited to that, but I didn't enjoy Iron Fist or Defenders. S1 of all the other shows were really good in my opinion and S2 of Daredevil is also worth it, I can't speak to how they diverge from there.

Rey

These shows should all be 8 episode seasons....too many subplots thar just waste time

James Leighton

Suggested viewing order, but skip Iron Fist because it's hot garbage

Greg Latta

... IF your going to/ wanting to watch the other shows at all... then should be in mixed air-date order. If not, you could for sure just watch all of Daredevil, just realizing by season 3 there might be a few references that your going to miss.

jamie jones

Doesnt take a genius to infer what your vote was for. People are literate. They read the options and made their choice. No need to try an make excuses for why the vote didn’t go your way.

Erik Stevenson

Don't worry about Jamie, Michael. He's desperate for Nat to be posting First Time Watching Iron Fist Season 2 vids to YouTube in 2024. Of course, Iron Fist would never win in an actual stand-alone poll because it's garbage, so he's very happy that 850 of Nats 5000+ Patrons have decided to just vote for "watch everything Marvel".

Richard Maurer

I really hate these "(reactor) won't be able to handle this!" comments I see all over patreon. It's not that big of deal, Natalie won't be scarred for life or something.

Richard Maurer

@Brian - I get it, you're a hater regardless of quality.

Mr. Bundy

Well it’s probably a good thing that nobody here said that or anything…

Richard Maurer

@Brian - And your opinion is a fact only in your mind. A opinion that changes mine not one bit.

Daine

Skip Iron Fist! its trash

Siti Dee

The viewing order is winning and it's gonna get her ages to get to season 3 and it's gonna KILL me slowly lol but I'm gonna suck it up and wait patiently cuz it's worth it!

Byron

To be honest, I’d just recommend watching season one of DD and season one of Jessica Jones and season one of Luke Cage. They all (except Iron Fist) have strong first seasons and then kind of taper off. The rest isn’t BAD (except Iron Fist), but it doesn’t really live up to the promise of the first seasons.

Byron

Oh and Punisher…

Byron

I would second this. NONE of the shows live up to their first seasons. I might throw in first season of Luke Cage to round things out (Iron Fist doesn’t count), but I wouldn’t complain if it were skipped… and that’s about it.

Ortizmo

All this talk prompted me to go back and listen to/watch the Defenders opening credits. Goose bumps. Still my favorite opening theme of the Marvel shows next to Punisher.

Eric Janssen

“Eveything” Marvel?? Even that cheesy syndicated non-canon “Mutant X” series that Marvel had to do when Fox contractually forbid any spin-offs of the ‘00 X-Men movie? 😂 (Speaking of which, when WILL we see a rector do the X-Men ‘92 cartoon?)

Ortizmo

I'm gonna stick up for Iron Fist. True, it was the least desirable of the shows but I still enjoyed it immensely.

Zachary Gaudreau

I think maybe you should take a break from the netflix marvel shows to watch Ms Marvel, I thought it was phenomenal and it is only 6 episodes.

Rev.J

Yep Ms Marvel next with 6 eps. Much like Moon Knight, learn about a particular culture, along with the story.

jamie jones

I feel most people heard it got worst reviews of defenders shows and jumped on that band wagon without actually having seen it cause they’d prefer reactions to something else. Sure iron fist was the worst of the defenders, but the other shows set a ridiculously high bar. Iron fist is still a great show.

Joshua Milus

I'm just loving that you somehow found my comment in all this mess.

Matthew

I knew the was a Punisher series but I only watched the shows up to the Defenders. All the shows up to that are such a high bar for most television, I'd be interested to see how these second and third seasons are.

Micah Zimmer

And yet, by just observing your own true colors jamie, it seems all of these descriptions also apply to those who have their option winning. You seem to obsessively lash out at about half of the comments here.

Kevin Mowery

Season two of DD is uneven but it gets us to The Punisher, which is great (and perfectly cast). Though since Nat isn't a fan of wet noises and breaking bones it might not be the show for her.

Brian Kidling

Bad, they all got cancelled because their quality was bad. These arent good shows and natalie shouldnt feel forced to take in mediocre content

Julia

I've been watching Daredevil with you, mostly bc I enjoy watching things with you and this takes up your Monday/Tuesday for the last few weeks. I would never unsubscribe, but I think its a lot to put yourself through to watch 13 seasons of shows just to go along with the 3 season original. With that being said, I support whichever you do, I just think that is especially a lot of marvel and you'll be watching this entire series and limiting yourself for 2+ years

Zander

In my opinion I would like to see Jessica Jones then the continuation of daredevil followed up by The Punisher. Daredevil and The Punisher are some of my favorite shows ever made, Jon Bernthal's performance as The Punisher is incredible. Jessica Jones is also really engaging and definantly worth a watch. Iron Fist & Luke cage are in my opinion not worth it. They feel like they are made to "expand the universe" and not much else. And if I remember right I am pretty sure you can watch the 2nd season of daredevil before you watch anything else and still not miss anything significant outside of a few throwaway lines here and there.

Orion Skies

If you wanna stick to Daredevil specifically, I'd say watch Daredevil S1 -> S2 -> Defenders -> S3

Kevin Bartelen

I think what is probably the suggested viewing order is best but strictly speaking, for continuity sake you need to watch Dare Devil 1 and 2 before Defenders, Jessica Jones 1 before Defenders and before Luke Cage 1, Luke Cage 1 and Iron Fist 1 before Defenders, then Defenders, then the rest don't really matter as the characters don't really interact much after Defenders.

jamie jones

They were cancelled because disney launched a direct competitor to netflix in disney plus. Marvel television was then shut down so marvel studios could take over and make shows for disney+. It had nothing to do with quality you tool. You'll really say any lie you want to try and make a point. Seriously pathetic.

jamie jones

Look at you erik, still crying up a storm cause things haven’t gone your way. You simply cant handle that not everyone shares your shitty taste. Hopefully you stocked up on tissues during prime day.

jamie jones

What you define as obsessively lashing out is adorable. Also, Half? Your math skills aren’t too good now are they? Im allowed to defend against negativity. You dont see me on other polls bitching up a storm when i lose. Thats what you children do. You all have serious akiro arcane vibes. Posting down right insults, to conspiracies, to trying to shame natalie, to threatening to unsubscribe all because you cant handle what the vast majority voted for. If people wanna express their opinion about not winning, thats fine. Devolving into whiny, insult hurling a-holes is another matter all together and its quite frankly pathetic.

Brian Jones

@Richard Maurer Quite obviously not Richard, as I'm here advocating for her to watch the rest of Daredevil. If you must know, I did enjoy Jessica Jones season one, and even part of the first season of Punisher. But I also realize none of that is required viewing to simply enjoy Daredevil, nor is it worth the year plus of time it will take to slog through the bad just for a little bit of good. I'm just realistic Richard. I'm willing to admit when something is objectively bad regardless of branding. Even when it's a brand I generally like. You don't seem to be capable of that.

chico

id say watch daredevil season 1, 2 and 3 and then punisher season 1 and 2 and leave the rest alone...

Steve

i'm fine with breaks from marvel content, though that is the stuff i personally like most. the thing viewers may forget is that we enjoy watching reactors be really excited about what they watch so we get a good reaction, even if it's negative. i am voting for a specific, different viewing order. it's just important to factor that the netflix shows aren't actually the MCU, so while some of it is great, and much of it will inform other things, none of it is necessary for the larger MCU stuff. Daredevil season 1 Jessica Jones season 1 Daredevil season 2 The Defenders The Punisher season 1 Jessica Jones season 2 Daredevil Season 3 Jessica Jones season 3 (if you liked the first two) The Punisher season 3 Yep, it leaves out luke cage and iron fist entirely. when it comes down to it, while watching every show in order could be fun, not all of it will be and i can't imagine anyone is honestly excited to watch reactions to iron fist season 1. the above gives you the big beats and all the best shows (though i really want you to watch luke cage season 2, so if you end up going with luke cage anyway, i'd certainly be there for it. i'm just trying to give the best of both worlds in terms of content and trimming where it can be done for your sanity.

Micah Zimmer

I rest my case, thank you for that. I haven't voted on this poll, I haven't threatened anything, I just point out bad apples to see what sort of response happens.

RavenHairedSongbird

Stick to DD & Jessica Jones season 1. Luke Cage’s first half of season 1 is good & I really liked some of the female characters in Iron fist season 2… but can’t say it’s worth it to watch that many hours of content for that little gold. I can’t imagine view numbers will be high.

2026-09-06 12:00 Interlace Jessica Jones, Daredevil and Punisher would be my advice. There are occasional nice moments in The Defenders and Luke Cage...but overall neither are to the level of quality of the other three...and feature a lot of space filler episodes. The less said about Iron Fist the better.

Fawks

Iron Fist isn't even that bad. Obviously she's going to watch them all at this point, you don't have to keep beating it into her head that she's supposed to hate the rest of these shows. The only thing wrong with Iron Fist is that they ran out of money for fight choreography. Tom Pelphrey carries the show well just like he did with Ozark season 3. I'm actually looking forward to the rewatch for Ward Meachum alone.

jamie jones

Lol yeah ok. You accuse me of nonsense then pretend you’re just a bystander, and if I respond in a way thats not praise for you and your accusation, that proves your accusation. Lol You’re a fun one.

Heliastein

This is a really bad advice as she has not seen season 2 of daredevil yet...

Micah Zimmer

I was merely pointing out that you resemble the people you are belittling and criticizing. I understand the desire to defend the things you like, I just wish you could see how much toxicity you are adding to the comment section.

Erik Stevenson

Jamie I can't believe the dude blowing up comments on here defending Iron Fist is claiming someone else has shitty taste, lol. You're funny, bro.

jamie jones

There is crazy toxicity all over this comment section. I dont see you pointing out those ‘bad apples’. Is it because you agree with them and not me? What you clearly consider toxicity is what ever doesn’t support your pov. Again, Adorable.

Travis Starnes

They weren't cancelled because their quality was bad. They were cancelled because Disney launched Disney+ and was bringing everything in house.

Travis Starnes

Defenders without the other shows would be confusing.

Kate Herzig

I'll be honest, as long as you do all of Daredevil and The Punisher, that works for me. Jessica Jones season 1 is spectacular so that's a definite, but JJ season 2+3, Luke Cage (even though he's a good character and the first half of season 1 is great), and Iron Fist can be spread out as far in the future as you want. I'd say the Defenders too, but it's a shorter season so that's an easier one to get through. I just think with Daredevil becoming integrated into the MCU, his story is most important. Then Jon Bernthal is so perfect that The Punisher is a must see.

Ilsuk Yang

I like Iron Fist, but there's also plenty wrong with it.

Micah Zimmer

There is quite a lot of toxicity in this poll now, same as the last few. Brian even started a somewhat personal crusade over the last big one, and I have tried pointing out the absurdity of that, but he's unlikely to see it anytime soon. However, it's one thing to complain about a show; this is to be expected since not everyone will like everything and even you have pointed out that most people won't use the comments section unless it's to complain. The toxicity comes in when threads like this pop up that snipe at people personally. You yourself have seen it from posters like Brian and Erik, and yet you're absolutely dripping with vitriol in just this singular thread. I guess I just thought you could be reasoned with. Have at it then, I have a morbid fascination for this sort of thing.

jamie jones

I’ll admit i was a bit annoyed with certain people. However i disagree that alot of my posts have been dripping with vitriol.

Val Mattingly

The thing is, the other shows aren't that bad. They aren't. But they aren't all the same level of quality, nor do they REALLY feel necessary. You could just straight up watch Daredevil seasons 1 and 2, then watch the Defenders and just be kinda confused for a bit, and then watch DD season 3 and be missing next to nothing. I do recommend watching the other shows, it's just that by the time you get back to Daredevil for Season 3, a lot of the magic will have warn off. Because it's A LOT of shows and it gets a little exhausting.

ㅋ

We were so close to getting arcane

Ed Green

This is exactly how I feel. Daredevil 1 and 2 keeps the story intact and fresh, and the only reference in Daredevil S2 that you'd not get is what one new side character had been doing prior to their appearance. Plus Defenders would then be 'here's Matt and his friends, and here's 3 other people with their own sets of friends'. Then you could go to the other shows later, after Daredevil S3, and see what those 3 other people had been doing previously. Plus that would be in line with it being Daredevil that won the poll that led to it, rather than the Defendersverse as a collective.

Micah Zimmer

And I probably came in too aggressively with my post here as well, for which I apologize.

Richard Maurer

Did you read Ilsuk Yangs comment? It literally says she won't be able to handle it.

Richard Maurer

Or I just don't think they're bad? There are literally no Mcu or Netflix Marvel shows/movies that I think are bad. At worst I would call some mediocre.

Richard Maurer

He's doing the "If I say this bullshit I made up enough times maybe it will stick" ploy.

Richard Maurer

So....... it's "I don't want this to happen so ignore the majority of poll respondents and do what I want". Could you guys be more obvious?

Richard Maurer

OH NO! Not Dan! how will we go on without Dan?

Richard Maurer

It's almost as if they see which shows and movies get the biggest reaction and do them too, because they're trying to get paid. Crazy, right?

Richard Maurer

@Brian - repeating something over and over doesn't make it a fact.

Richard Maurer

All this back and forth over the Netflix Marvel shows. May be Natalie should do a poll to see what the majority want.............oh,wait.

Jayson Phillips

Naaaa more like same dudes wanting to control whats watched by each paetron girl. It sucks tho cause a lot of good movies are wasted. Everyone ive suscribed to has watched all the marvel, star wars, daredevil, spider man, firefly, everything she has watched on here except euphoria cause that was her choice.

Brian Jones

@Richard Maurer "There are literally no Mcu or Netflix Marvel shows/movies that I think are bad" Oh, I don't doubt that a bit Richard, and thank you for proving my point. Thankfully, Nat has read the comments from patrons, is being reasonable about it, and isn't going through with slogging through the entire mess of shows. So there's no real reason to keep discussing it. All I can say is, you must REALLY enjoy mediocrity as the entire current phase of Marvel films (baring Spiderman) falls into that category. As of Love and Thunder, the entire franchise is a parody of it's self at this point. The films are becoming as corny as the Netflix shows eventually did. As I pointed out to you in another post, this is what happens when you loose your key directing and writing talent. Marvel hasn't been the same since the Russo brothers and Markus and McFeely. Once they lose Gunn, it's all downhill from there.

Richard Maurer

Maybe that's what the majority want?

Jayson Phillips

I'm not saying they are not good shows at all, I love Marvel and Star Wars and Firefly its just exactly what everyone else is doing. If she does the JJ or Punisher series no one else is doing those yet.

2026-09-06 12:00 I can not stress how absolutely horrible Iron Fist & the Defenders are. Disney has not hired those actors back, has no plans on ever acknowledging those shows happened. They did hire back Jessica Jones & the Punisher.

2026-09-19 15:00 The only actors confirmed to be back by Marvel are Charlie Cox & Vincent D'Onofrio. They're both going to play significant roles in the "ECHO" series & then Daredevil is getting a new Disney+ series. Feige's comments at the "No Way Home" premiere about Netflix characters showing up VERY soon was referencing Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk. As of today, Ritter & Bernthal have not been announced to reprise their roles in any upcoming MCU series. It's all noise & fan rumors. If we don't hear anything about them at SDCC or D23, I think it's safe to say they likely won't be back.

Back in the "old days" we would have to wait a week for a new episode. You could set up something like that to help with the schedule.

Jason Smith

2. Jessica Jones (Season 1) 3. Arcane 4. Daredevil (Season 2) Then, same order as above, unless Season 2 of Arcane comes out before you manage to finish.

Kalle-Tapani Isomaa

If Daredevil is your main goal you should watch at least everything he is in. So his own series plus Defenders. He is only in Defenders outside of his own 3 season run. If you're interested on other series that is golden for me.

Kalle-Tapani Isomaa

I would love her to watch X-Files but as popular as the show was in 90s it is not that anymore and revival shows did not help that unfortunately.

Kalle-Tapani Isomaa

Tobey and Adrew appearing in No Way Home was noise and rumor but it happened anyway. Honestly i thunk MCU Netflix characters appearing would be more likely than Andrew and Tobey but i was surprised. Literally every juicy rumor No Way Home had happened. And no Kevin Feige or any other Disney or Marvel official or even Sony announced anything about them.

Rob Fletcher

I’d say if Daredevil is the character you’re most interested in, just watch his show and Defenders. Defenders happens between season 2 and season 3 of Daredevil, and does a decent enough job of introducing Jessica, Luke, and Danny that you don’t really need to watch their shows first.
