Stranger Things will continue next week, but it's time to pick up another show to pair with it. You decide whether we dive back into Marvel or if we power through Arcane first! 

These two shows have both been heavily requested so that's why I'm limiting the poll to just these two. 

Also, for those who are curious about Euphoria, I'm putting the second season off for now and will likely revisit it later. So for the near future, the plan is to watch 2 shows with movies sprinkled in as well.

SouloBoy: there are 135 episodes of Defenders episodes (JJ, LC, IF, DD, and Defenders) and just 9 of Arcane. I am not saying Nat should never watch more Defenders, just that Marvel already represents a very large share in content, vs a single-season show that could be knocked out in a couple of parts.

I love Marvel. I have seen all of it 5 times over but these shows aren’t in the same league. Arcane is the best show to come out since Covid and I I don’t even play League of Legends. 2 Emmy nominations vs a show that should of stopped after one season.

Oh boy. I don't have a preference but if it's Arcane I do hope the fans treat you with respect. Another female reactor (Mary Cherry) did Arcane aswell and was treated horrible by rude and toxic fans that were picking at her intellect, which eventually ended in her not uploading the last 3 episodes on youtube. Toxicity is of course in every fandom, but some worse than others.

Funny because I actually have Disney+ and watch all the MCU related stuff like as soon as i can. But if Nat starts JJ (which has more episodes and is longer) she'll want to go onto season 2 soon after or go back to DD, then Punisher probably show wise. Arcane has 9 episodes or shorter length in general. It not only makes more sense to watch Arcane in that way, but because it's just really good

I tried to watch Arcane after hearing about it over and over and over again, but I couldn't make it through the second episode. I just couldn't bring myself to care about what was going on. And I've never seen Jessica Jones. Since the poll is so close I'm not going to vote in order to swing it one way or the other.

We took a break after DD S1 and I'd say it's about a 95% chance she'll watch Arcane right after JJ S1 so unless your Dr. just told you that you've only got 1 week to live I think you could cultivate a little bit of patience.

I've seen both. I liked both. I prefer Jessica Jones. Because even you find it hard to believe, there is people with different tastes. Some people don't enjoy animation at all for example.

Mary paid very little attention to the show in the beginning. She was too busy playing with her cat and phone. The edit on YouTube cut all that out, leaving the parts where she was clueless, but without the context. It made her look unintelligent rather than inattentive. People should not pick at other people's intellect, for sure. But I think it's fine to respectfully criticize the quality of the content she put out. She dropped the ball on this show.

I think not knowing League of Legends is even better for a first viewing, because you don't know the importance of certain characters therefore "no one is safe" and there's more stakes to the story.

Hey Nat! Hello You! Yes You! I really, really hope that the poll doesn't keep skewing toward Jessica Jones. I watched Jessica Jones. It was good. But Arcane is GREAT. And it's different! And I think you will be amazed! I think if you read the comments section, you can see SO many people having a good opinion of Jessica Jones - but a GREAT opinion of Arcane. Plus it's more recent and maybe that will drive more and/or different people to your channel than just the marvel fans. Think of your future Nat! Arcane is clearly the better choice!

Nah, I think most people like both. I haven't seen many that "hate" the first season of JJ. Just many that are tired of the never-ending conveyor belt of madness that is Marvel. In this case it would probably be a better choice to burn through Arcane as it would go a bit quicker, but either is a decent pick and both are quality entertainment. Sadly, if it was Iron Fist, I have a sinking feeling it would still be winning though. Especially given the historical trend of these polls.

Realistically people have to get used to polls looking like this. Nat started out with Marvel and Star Wars so a lot of her fanbase are big MCU + SW fans So chances are that's going to show on polls

Then please allow me to explain my logic. I am completely open to the fact that there are plenty of people who would prefer JJ. It was a good series. Arcane however has higher reviews across the board, had the highest viewership in the world for its release weeks on Netflix, the story is certainly up for opinion but when comes to animation, Arcane has been revered by my peers (I would in a production company) as an animation and editing marvel. JJ does not have the above accolades. That being said, when numbers are skewed one way over the other that goes against the wide reception, I don't think it is unreasonable to think that not seeing Arcane COULD be a reason why. Hence why I said "I can't help but think (that's the case)..." There are still plenty of other reasons that I am completely open to and accepting of. It was just my take.

Regarding Arcane I'm just really scared for Natalie, since Riot public is always pretty toxic and after what they did to other reactors, I'm just biased towards NOT recommending Arcane to reactors, despite how good of a show it is.

So Jessica jones is probably the better option. But you could also possibly do both and treat arcane as 3 movies. Each 3 episode arch could be one movie and then it’s out of the way.

JJ (S1) would be very good show but there is so many filler in the middle, just too long because there was contract for 13 episodes so they had to do 13 episodes but there was only concept for around 8-10 so we have boring middle. This is the problem of most netflix Marvel TV Shows except Daredevil. Sorry for my english its my 2nd language.

Ok, so I love Daredevil but I'd argue that Jessica Jones is actually a better show. Part of the love for DD is because of the amazing fight choreography and cinematography and Jessica isn't a martial artist so you're not going to get that. What you are going to get is a fantastic story with amazing actors, a more interesting and scarier villian and characters whose motivations and decisions make total sense based on their backstories. DD is a hero because he "loves this city" and Fisk is a monster because he "loves this city." JJ has characters who are who they are because of their past, their trauma and because of who they are at their core. I watched the 1st ep of Arcane and felt 'eh'... I figured I'd get around to the rest at some point but so far i couldn't be bothered, and thanks to the toxicity of its fans online I can't say I'm any more motivated to try.

If you end up watching Arcane be mindful. Two reactors I know stopped posting the show to youtube because of how toxic the fan base is in the comments. Bullying, threats of violence, insults. It's bad.

What is going on I heard about toxic Arcane fans in comment, and there is only a people that says things like "It's a pity" on the other side I see people saying "So many toxic fans of Arcane I Watched 1 (!) episode, and it's boring". As a Fan of both Netflix Marvel shows and Acane I wonder who is more toxic in this case. You know it's okay for u all prefer. Sorry for my English is my secondary language. I personally dont have much of an interest and rewatching JJ, it was fine. But I think Nat will get way more out of Arcane in terms of things to commentate about. Yeah, I gess calling "fanboys" to those voting for JJ and complaining because JJ is ahead is just their way of being mild. Look, both are excellent. It should be noted, however, that appreciation for Arcane may require being a fan of anime and/or dystopian fantasy; Jessica Jones is more "accessible" and especially so for someone familiar with Marvel comic tropes. Also, JJ is just an extraordinarily well paced and acted entry into the filmed Marvel universe. I'd steer toward JJ. You'll get exceptional quality in either choice.

If JJ wins, it will be posted 1 month after the DD finale. 1 entire month with no Marvel content, just Obi Wan, Euphoria and Stranger things, with movies mixed in. And even if DD is Marvel, just like Moon Knight, the tone is completely different. It's a completely different mood. 1 month is a pretty generous time lapse for a reactor that mostly grew with MCU if you ask me.

I mean fair and valid but at that same note I think it’s only fair that Natalie should branch out and find other genres or content to react to as well. Marvel content is finite (to an extent), she will run out of things to react to eventually, and by taking a month off she can prolong the journey. At the end of the day it’s what she wants to do, but personally I’d appreciate seeing the content branch out a bit more and Arcane would be pretty uncharted territory for Natalie and most likely other viewers.

But Marvel is not making it easy for reactors, they are pumping out content at an extremely high rate. And going with Marvel is always the safest bet for her, at least, for now.

@Luis Santos - I didn't mention Stranger Things Luis, but since you brought it up it's a great example given it's insane popularity, and you're kind of making my point for me. In a poll against a Marvel or Star Wars property, sadly it's likely that just about anything else is going to lose. Point being that the only way one of those shows is likely to end up on the channel is if Nat specifically goes out of her way to add it on her own, or it wins another poll unrelated to the Disney IP's. The end result being that smaller unknown shows will in many cases be tossed by the wayside and forgotten regardless of how good they are if they are put up against those IP's.

I don't think Arcane fans are necessarily toxic, just a little annoying since they spam every poll of every reactor and every comment section on YouTube. It gets a bit....much. I mean, I was disappointed that Nat didn't watch Legend of Korra, Because I truly believe that she is missing out on something that she will really enjoy, but I'm not going to go on every poll and talk about it. Arcane fans talk about Arcane constantly. Everywhere. I wish they would calm down. But I don't think that what they're doing is really "toxic". Sorry to say but in this case you couldn’t be more wrong lol I’ve seen every MCU title several times over (including the Netflix runs and JJ) and have been a huge fan since phase 1. The MCU actually is what got me into reading the comics and enjoying Natalie’s content. I just appreciate when Natalie can watch something else for a change and with Arcane being a limited series I would just like to see her knock it out before getting back to the MCU. After the mediocrity that was the first season of Wheel of Time, I'm not too optimistic about Rings of Power on Amazon. Especially with the rumors about them consciously disregarding the lore. @Hold Your Fire - Meh, I'll give any show a shot. I just won't hold back if it's bad. GOT was a whole lot of quality with a final season that was a rushed mess. But I wouldn't let that last season ruin the rest of the show for me. There's far too much good there in the way of character development and storytelling. Even the later seasons have their standout moments. Hopefully HotD is more like the early GOT stuff rather than the later. Fingers crossed on that one.

In terms of hope of it being a great show i am like a 8,5/10 for HotD and a 5,5/10 for tRoP. HBO has proven time and time again they know how to produce great shows, and this show and the story they are telling have been overseen by GRRM personally, so no dumb D&D stuff and alterations to the story that ruin the show hopefully :p. . Amazon on the other hand has a long way to go to proving they actually can consistently produce good content.

In this case specifically, my wife knew nothing of League or its characters. She happened to thoroughly love Arcane and eagerly awaited each act. We also fully enjoyed JJ while also really not knowing a thing about her. I think both series have merits to those not in the know. They were cancelled because there was no time to film, produce and publish new seasons before losing the rights. Daredevil S1 to S3 is awesome, as is JJ S1 and S2 nad Punisher S1 and S2. Luke Cage is pretty entertaining, but Iron Fist is a pain to watch, no matter how big of a fan you are. Defenders was pretty entertaining too, and since it works as a link between DD S2 and S3, it's definitely worth the watch.

I can't wrap my head around it either. I've seen some utter bullshit in the comments on here before. I don't get why people feel so entitled. This is the only person I've ever paid for a subscription to, but if Nat watches something I'm not into I just don't watch it with her. And if she has nothing on her schedule that I'm interested in, I could just unsubscribe for a month or two until she is. At NO POINT will you see me throwing some entitled hissy fit because she hasn't watched "my" show, (which for the record would be 'Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency', but that's probably not going to pull very much money on her channel so its a stretch) I thought people enjoyed watch-along reactions because it was like showing your friend your favorite movie for the first time but without getting a guilt trip for staring at their face the whole time to see their reaction, lol.

Two episodes is my rule. If I'm not grabbed in the space of two episodes I don't keep going. I mean, it's like The Expanse. People love that show but I couldn't make it through the pilot. And most recently, The Terminal List. There are so many good shows, both past and present, that I don't believe it's worth it to keep watching something you don't enjoy. Nor do I believe in "hate watching" something you actively dislike. I simply didn't connect with Arcane. I didn't care about the characters or what was happening, although the animation was beautiful. So I didn't continue.

I don't think it's the troll incident alone. Arcane fans are everywhere online. Absolutely everywhere. They are on multiple reaction channels. And they're all, all constantly talking about Arcane. It could be on a random movie and there will be comments saying "please watch Arcane." "Watch Arcane!" "Arcane is the best show!" I believe this has fueled a backlash against it. People are just tired of hearing about it. I heard about it endlessly until I finally gave in and tried to watch it and couldn't finish it. Honestly I think you guys need to chill. She knows about it, she knows that it has a passionate following, if she wants to, She will watch it. Continuing to talk about it on every comment section is just going to turn off more people.

That's why, being reasonable, some people recommended her not to watch the entire Netflix Marvel shows, because it can be a drag, and a real pain to plow through. She enjoyed Daredevil? Great, she can watch S2, Defenders after that (missing some character exploration, but really not needed for Matt's story) and then S3, and move on. I still think she'll enjoy Jessica Jones a lot. And I know she'll love Arcane too once she finally gets to see it.

Arcane was made as 3 acts (1-3) (4-6) (7-9) so you missed out on the finale of the first act. But tbh I'd say the first 2 episodes were the weakest of the entire series.

Hopefully you will give it another shot, if and when Nat starts the series. It's a really good show that drew inspiration from the game and, unlike all its other video-game inspired series, it has an actual story in it. Personally, episode 1 was fascinating to me because I was trying to place the characters, and episode 2 was just preparation for episode 3. So yea, episode 1 and 2 aren't the most exciting ones...but it gets good!

When you’re talking about a 9 episode series that covers a large amount of characters, it does an incredible job flushing out most characters and character arcs. Marvel movies usually flush out maybe 1 or 2 characters in an entire movie. Collectively, marvel has told a great story but had been given 20+ movies and various tv shows to tell their stories. I’m absolutely a marvel fan, their one of the most rewatchable pieces of media, but I think pound for pound, arcane as a whole within only 9 episodes will trump season 1 of Jessica Jones for the sake of entertainment.

I know Arcane isn't going to win, it's almost unfair to pit Arcane against anything Marvel as this channel is practically founded on marvel content, which i love and enjoy. @Luis Yeah I can second this. I signed up for her (Mary's) Patreon when I saw arcane was on the roster. Then watched the first three episodes and she was completely lost. Not because of intelligence, but because she was texting and just not paying attention. She 100 percent deserved criticism for bad content. If you make bad content and you are an internet personality it comes with the territory. Now I don't know what was said in the comments on YouTube because she disabled them. If it was derogatory comments yeah that's ridiculous. But imagine your favorite movie being reacted to and the reactor put little to no effort into watching it. IE texting 3 minutes into the show while important dialogue is happening. You absolutely deserve to be called on that. Anyways most fans of any fandom are great. HBO definitely has the better track record, and I would agree that Amazon has certainly been hit or miss. Wheel of Time was a dumpster fire and Carnival Row was pretty bad as well. Electric Dreams wasn't a bad premise, but the production value was trash. But then there's middle of the road stuff like Terminal List, or Jack Reacher, and Good Omens. And then there's some pretty exceptional stuff as well, like Invincible, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Expanse, Bosh, or The Boys. So for me it's not necessarily as network specific, and I'm not so much concerned about the fact that it's Amazon. What really concerns me about tRoP is the specific people running the show. It's just starting to look like they have no idea what they're doing, are just manufacturing their own random fantasy show and slapping the Tolkien name on it while having zero respect for the lore. But again, I'll reserve final judgment until I see it.

I honestly don't see any toxicity in the comments at all. I don't see anyone going out of their way to specifically insult any individuals. I don't see any crazy name calling or wildly inappropriate behavior. I just see two sides that both feel strongly about their shows. @Luis It's been stated the reason she was being criticized is because it seemed like she wasn't paying attention. The youtube crowd didn't get the context of her distractions via pet and phone (which were edited out for youtube), which made it seem like she just wasn't watching the show (which doesn't make for a good reaction). It doesn't excuse the insults, but it does help show why the youtube crowd might not get why she was confused at all. Although, if it had been posted to youtube without editing out that context, I'd wager the backlash would've been unfortunately even worse.

It's the whole "we don't know what was said" part, then immediately jumping to the conclusion that the content creator somehow disrespected the show. It's a helluvan assumption. Especially since she was enjoying the show.

I know from watching most of the reaction on Youtube she didn't follow the show very well. Someone here pointed out in her full reactions it was clear she wasn't paying much attention for good portions of the show which lines up with why she probably didn't follow it so well. And in her own words of her response she was looking for a short easy thing to film, of which Arcane turned out to not be the best choice. I'm happy she enjoyed the show but I would say not being fully engaged while watching it isn't exactly a sign of respect. If I'm massively wrong on that then fine, but I haven't just made assumptions out of nowhere, and I think I've been fair. I did not say there weren't any rude comments, but the fact no one can even see the comments just makes painting an entire community as toxic with a reference to them even more unfair.

I follow Mary, so I have a pretty good idea of what transpired. And honestly, regardless of how she received the show, no one deserves to be insulted and berated for having a different opinion about art. League of Legends is infamous for it's toxic player base. It's not unfair to assume the show would follow suit.

Yeah, I just looked at the mobile app and it isn't that clear but that is what I mean. It's just honestly you've taken the most bad faith interpretation of what I had said, wrongfully accused me of victim blaming and seemed to be trying to spread it across as much of the comment section as possible so it is very difficult to not get frustrated with that.

You blamed the creator's hate comments on her not paying attention. You flat out state we will never know the comments. Meaning, you don't know what was said. Then you assume that the scenario happened because the reactor "paid no respect to the material", which you don't know. And now you deny your own accusations, while also being upset at me for simply making comments. Sorry I'm not some patron app expert. This is why I usually don't make comments on things like this. But I felt that Nat should be aware of how much hate she is going to invite by watching this show. And then you come in and literally prove my point several times over. I didn't insult your ability to use Patreon, I even checked the mobile app and agreed it wasn't very clear to use. I don't think I've been toxic, in fact I think I've been extremely measured despite you seeming to want to escalate things. I agree, Dark is the best completed Netflix show out there. It has a bit of Stranger Things and a bit of The OA, just very good storytelling all around. And the mysteries for the viewers to unravel, make you hooked to binge all episodes in no time. Casting was also really well done, most actors performed well, but the consistency was what sold the story. And as I mentioned it has a beginning and satisfying end. Unlike some other great shows (House of Cards, Game of Thrones, Lost, Dexter, Westworld etc.)

I will say I know LoL players have a culture of toxicity in many cases... but I've only seen positivity from all the Arcane fans, which by no means are limited to LoL players :) Fans of the show have been amazing :) Not saying your experiences aren't valid however... I just haven't seen it myself. :)

I mean, I'm a Marvel fan myself and all, but I really don't see the point in polling MCU stuff with literally ANYTHING else in this channel, if the thing is MCU stuff vs any other thing just skip the poll, go ahead and schedule the MCU stuff and save the time. And I don't mean to be toxic or anything, it just got boring like 10 polls ago to see anything MCU related just bash any poll, really don't see a point in polling for something everyone knows beforehand. I think it'd make more sense to just guess people will want to watch the MCU stuff and just make polls for everything else, in this channel there literally can't be a "fair" poll between MCU related content and any other content, so I can understand why people can get frustrated.

Knowing how much you love character driven content, I know you’d adore Arcane. After sitting with the first season for almost a year, it is definitely the best show I have ever seen despite knowing absolutely nothing about League of Legends beforehand, and I don’t say that lightly. I really hope you’re able to get around to it, it is truly a masterpiece. From the camera work, groundbreaking animation, attention to detail, breathtaking scenery, compelling voice acting, nuanced characters, and overall unpredictability are all just an 11/10. I can’t rave about this show enough. Unfortunately, from what I’ve heard fans of League of Legends are known to be quite rude to people with different opinions or thoughts. However, those brought together by the show itself are so invested and passionate and kind. I really hope that if you watch this show the haters don’t get you down, because after watching your content for over a year, I know you’ll love this show too.
