I like how everyone is calling Cole bitter, when Alicent is literally the same way. She even says it, shes bitter that Rhaenyra does what she wants, while Alicent has to follow the rules and expectations of a woman. She could actually have stayed a friend toward Rhaenyra and not worried about anyones children killing each other. Also even as a guy who likes guys, I dont like how Natalie was putting it only on Rhaenyra as doing something "dumb". when the Laerus gets to do what he wants and isnt being smart.

Darryl Low

Happy Thrones Thursday Nat. Your thumbnail today just makes me smile 😊 This episode definitely threw me first time around, as I spent most of the episode trying to figure out who was who ha ha. Looking forward to seeing what you made of it. I got it second time around, with some pointers from you Nat. Damn, Laena's death is just as shocking watching it again, and that score. Thanks for an amazing reaction again today Nat 💛

Lee Gannon

Aegon is played by Ty Tennant the step-son of David Tennant (Jessica Jones).

Essero Eson

Yeah, I love the relationship that develops between Larys and Alicent. It's like he keeps leaving dead mice on her doorstep and she keeps answering the door.

Kate Herzig

This is the biggest time jump. It helps to look at it as a second pilot. I didn't follow any pre-production stuff so I was more shocked by young Alicent and young Rhaenyra because even without following anything, I knew Olivia and Emma were cast in those roles. It was actually really nice to have that time with the younger versions instead of jumping right into the Dance. Now they're fully fleshed out people and a lot easier to understand motivations and perspectives.

Steve J

two rules of GoT: 1: Don't get married 2: Don't get pregnant

Dani

Larys' scene at the end is my favorite part of the episode. Super creepy and definitely reminded me of Little Finger as well.

Dante

Fun fact the older actresses for Rhaenyra and Alicent were cast before the younger actresses and then they went and found younger actresses based on the older ones. They also used the older actresses for most of the promotion for the show. Milly Alcock and Emily Carey gave all-time performances for roles that are actually quite minor in the grand scheme of the whole show. After finishing the season though I really can't imagine anyone other than Emma D'Arcy and Olivia Cooke as Rhaenyra and Alicent. They are both perfect

Frank Rosales

I like to think everything before this episode was Prologue just to introduce the characters and the situation and this episode starts the actual show.

Ariana Mitchell

dang girl! you are pumping out these reactions! im so excited!!

Amanda Ray

I love that we can get all of these big events through the time jumps, but I do wish we could have gotten to know Harwin more before this episode. I think they still do a good job of showing who these characters are despite how quickly things progress. It’s fun watching back and seeing all these subtleties and stuff I missed the first time around! Can’t wait to see the rest!

Dante

Even the rest of this season is pretty much still prologue. The Dance doesn’t really start until that main event happens at the end of the season

Ed Green

This part is the prologue. The part with Milly Alcock and Emily Carey was the foreword.

Alan Kobb

Harwin is Larys' elder brother. Harwin was in the way of Larys inheriting Harrenhall, just as their father Lionel was in the way of Alicent getting her father back as hand of the king. By killing both, Larys has become the Queen's most powerful agent, and has become a major power in Westeros, lord of the largest castle in all of Westeros. There is only one problem. Harrenhall is cursed... Right up to the present day, every family that has ever ruled Harrenhall has gone extinct.

Thomas Richter

Wouldn't it be awesome if Damons son started crying after his mother got burned by her dragon and he literally be born in dragon fire.

Timminson

It’s nuts you didn’t know about the actor switch. You are amazingly skilled at avoiding any type of spoiler lol. It was at the for front of all the marketing too. Well done. I’m too obsessively curious to avoid anything like that.

Killjoy

Targaryens aren't fireproof.

Thomas Richter

I know, but it would have been awesome anyway

Daniel Vezina

Larys= Littlefinger + vARYS=deadliest combination ever!!!

Daniel Vezina

That's how it was written, filling up on more episode would have created a season 6 to 8 problem.

ButtyOh

Fun fact, Aegon at this age is played by Ty Tenant. The "son" of David Tennant, the amazing Scottish actor who played Kilgrave in Jessica Jones

Tessa M

Yes! Ty is his stepson! So cool

Tessa M

Haha I laugh every time she calls Laena Lyanna 😂

ButtyOh

I knew he wasn't biologically his son but couldn't remember if he was adopted or a step son so I put son in " "

Essero Eson

In this show they do demonstrate that King Viserys is immune to the candle flames in the catacombs. I think that showing a mother burn away only to reveal her unburnt newborn would have been an awesome way to introduce a character we could invest in for a future episode.

Thomas Richter

I know, Not fireproof, fire "resistant" (read the fine print under your Targaryens)

Amanda Ray

I totally get that. I’ve read bits and pieces of the book while watching the show. I like the direction they’re going in! I’m just intrigued by Harwin and I want even just a tiny bit more haha

Lee Gannon

He is also the grandson of Peter Davison (who played the fifth Doctor in Doctor Who, of course Tennant played the tenth {and fourteenth) Doctor and Matt Smith portrayed the eleventh).

Richard Maurer

I just say Laena out loud like I'm correcting her, even though she obviously can't hear me.

Richard Maurer

The company is not responsible for any damage done to your Targaryen due to excessive exposure to fire and no refund will be issued.

Richard Maurer

I thought he was displaying a lack of feeling in his hand due to his disease, but I could be wrong.

neonseas

It continues to drive me crazy that they actually filmed a scene where Daemon comforts his daughters and then didn't give it to us. There are screenshots of it out there with him hugging them on that rooftop. They really went all out to make him look like a huge monster even though he's just a grey character.

Rune

you can't imagine how happy I am that I got to see someone watch this without knowing about the cast change.

Jayson Orlando

Ser Criston Cole wrote the book on being bitter...... He is so much the part of a little bitch that can't get over shit lmao

Josh Baker

reading faces and taking in every word is very important in this show... those "long pauses" have dynamic facial expressions, like Daemon giving the "You're still here??" look to Laena.
