Happy Thanksgiving Nattie G. I'm not American but I'm thankful you are watching Arcane today 😊 Looking forward to watching this show with you and seeing what it's all about. Wow. Looking like a great show. An interesting set-up. You weren't the only one getting emotional at the start Nat. That music! Looking forward to watching the next one with you next week. Thanks for a great video today Nat. P.S. Saw your new merch over on your store and it's so cute, I love it, but please tell me you spotted and corrected the spelling error on the back of your new shirts 🙏💛

Krystal Dean

Happiest Thanksgiving!!! I've been hoping you'd watch this for a while, cause it's so good. Can't wait to watch this with you!!

Ian

Happy thanksgiving nat I bet the doggies are excited about getting some turkey 😀 been saving this show to watch along with you so let's see what all the hype is about shall we 🙂

Mastervodo

WHEEEE!! My Christmas gift is early!

Brian Jones

Happy thanksgiving Nat.... Hope you enjoy the show.

Ryan

Happy Thanksgiving Nat, hope you have a good day and enjoy Arcane

Meg B

Yay! Can't wait to relive this journey with you! ♥️🤗

SilverWolf

Happy Thanksgiving Nat! I'm so excited to rewatch Arcane with you, I hope you enjoy it! There's so many little details in depth so don't worry if you miss something the first time around. It's a great show to rewatch as well 😁 P.s. you can call me cutie, I heartily consent 😂

Joshua Kon

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Bonus points to Natalie for figuring out imagine dragons in the title intro!

Mastervodo

The music in this show is A+. The title of this episode, (Welcome to the Playground) fits the midway song "Playground" which introduces Zaun is so great! It oozes. The song oozes. Gives you this sleazy vibe. Like the undercity... it's Piltover's runoff. It's a smoky, sleazy dive bar that only the locals know. I really hope Nat focuses on the music for this series. Especially the ones in the end credits. With the climax being Sting's "What Could Have Been".

john takacs

Happy Thanksgiving!, very excited for this \o/

Danishprince

We have finally arrived! I bet all the Arcane fans must be so happy right now :D - I have waited on this show until you got around to do a reaction so it's time to see what it is like <3

Isaiah Mesa

I am so excited to watch this! I have waited forever. Whooo!

K.N.

Not only is the show great, but the added benefit of never having to hear about it again in the comments makes this doubly great!

Tony Sanson

This show came out of nowhere for me. I don't follow League of Legends, don't know any of the characters, but this show is a great introduction. I'm excited to see where it goes in future seasons. But everything hits in this series; the VA, the animation and art direction, the sound design and music are all top tier. You could tell the people in charge took a lot of pride in their work. A couple of things you may or may not know: The season is broken into three acts of three episodes each. And the layout of Piltover and the "undercity." I've seen confusion from other reactors and was even a little confused myself, but it's all built on a hill. So "topside" is the upper portion and where all the rich and influential live, and the "undercity" is the lower portion...where all the trash and filth (figuratively and literally) from topside gets dumped. And yes, the enforcers wear the masks because, to them, the air is dirty.

Mastervodo

I swear I will make it a mission in my life to compare every other series to Arcane in the comments just for you.

Mastervodo

Have you listened to any of the song in the soundtrack D.L? If not - check out "Goodbye" by Ramsey, "Guns for Hire" by Woodkid, "What could have been" by Sting. Those are my top 3. But every single song on the soundtrack is good.

Myles Away

That dedication to spite gave me a good lol

SilverWolf

I think the air is toxic to a good extent, the people down there just have to deal with it though :(

SilverWolf

I agree, the music is incredible! Be careful with giving too much away though! :)

SilverWolf

I am sooo excited! :D What did you think of the first episode?

simon.shoots

seasons?? think u mean episodes lol season 2 coming out soon though :D

Danishprince

Very promising! The opening were a bit confusing but music and visuals were amazing

Cuttlefish

To be fair, Arcane *is* the show to compare to all other animated mediums. Between Last Airbender and this, there is no more animated shows worth watching if I'm being honest; they just won't compare to the writing, animation, and audio/music quality of these two shows.

Jim Gooch

Thank you for reacting to this. I hope you continue to enjoy the show. Avoid spoilers and hang on for a ride. The art is as amazing as the music. The voice acting never ceases to amaze me.

Travis

Calling me a golden retriever was way more cringey than calling me a cutie lol

Logan Kerlee

Glad that you enjoyed the first EPISODE! xD Not season. :P hahaha I'm watching this for the first time as well, but I've played the game for many years now so I've got a lot of the back knowledge that you don't with many of the characters that may (or may not) be included. If this first episode is going to be the usual then I'm here for it. This was a lot of fun for me to watch. :)

Logan Kerlee

lol, she saw it onscreen but yeah, she had a feeling. :)

Daniel McGuinness

Glad you’re enjoying the show, Nat! One of the things I liked most about it is the animation in this show is so similar to that of Star Wars: The Clone Wars! Another fantastic animated show that has some of the best character development/story progression/animation in general, that I’ve ever seen! Really hope you get around to checking it out 😁💛

pedantech

This episode isn't the usual. It gets much, much better. Hope you're still here for it!

Ryan

Cowboy Bebop

Ryan

I think one of the best things the creators did for the show are the facial animations, they convey so much with just facial expressions. I don’t think any animation from any continent has ever done facial animations so well.

Wild_Lee_Coyote

This episode is the long line to the roller coaster. You meet all the people you are going to ride with. You get the setup and anticipation. It ends when that lap bar comes down and you are locked in. Get ready because the fun is about to begin.

Trinity Davis

happy thanksgiving! LOVE this show, its criminal how long we have to wait until season 2

Laurie

Happy thursday Nat! I've been waiting for your reaction since I watched this show. Enjoy!!

Riolkin

Happy Thanksgiving! Very much looking forward to re-watching this show. I love this animation style and am hoping to see more studios do this in the future. Great reaction as always!

Mastervodo

Can you explain the cupcake thing Logan?

adrianR31

You don't even need to know this is based on league of legends to enjoy it. It's incredible

Daniel Vezina

Think about it as a Movies using animation as a medium. The first thing that hit me when I watch it, is the use of focus and lighting for an animation. Arcane was release in blocks of 3 episode, so most the question you have in the 1st are gonna be answer by the 3rd one.

adrianR31

The reason you're getting emotional is the SCOREEE

Rich House

Riot music team really flexing their composing skills, also doesn't hurt having Ray Chen as your violin soloist

Tesh

so happy you're enjoying it so far, and yea the music is phenomenal in this series, both the score and the choice in licenced music, it all fits so well, cant wait to see your reactions for the rest of the series

Mastervodo

/Logan I thought the cupcake thing was something to do with the game, like an Easter Egg for the gamer fans.

Logan Kerlee

Mind dropping a time code where it was? I'll take a look.

John

Even League players know our game is toxic lol, but Arcane is a whole other thing from the game. Its definitely not a requirement and adds very little. Its just cool to see characters we've played come to life. I really hope you enjoy this! Its so good!

xanderman

I didn't think this day would come but Natalie is finally reacting to Arcane. I joined Patreon again just for this amazing series. I hope you enjoy it!

Josh Schwarzbauer

This show is so insanely good. I cannot wait to watch you react to this!!!

xander

fun fact, Vi is voiced by Hailee Steinfeld (Kate Bishop from Hawkeye)!! also big yikes, i do remember that troll lmao. they were everywhereee on your Patreon, but i'm glad they didn't put you off from watching the show! i can't wait for you to get further in :)

Smoolio

Great reaction as always, can't wait for more!

Rich House

Bit early in the season to be dropping any lore/game knowledge in the comments I would think

Rich House

'choice in licenced music' is a bit misleading, the whole soundtrack was created for the show and in most cases as a collaboration between Riot and the music artists

Jess E

I feel like this episode is the weakest, but I'm so excited for more! Wonderful as always!

Boomcity

I thought you were leaving for a month,no?

SilverWolf

@Mastervodo it is an Easter egg but they mention it later in the series so... #spoilers :)

K.N.

Mastervodo, thank you. I can't wait to read your comparisons between Arcane and Euphoria S2.

Myles Away

I had my fingers crossed that we'd get 1-3 right away but I don't think she was ever clued into that method.

Joshua Kon

It doesnt need to happen that way. The show is more than strong enough to watch one by one.

ccc

Invincible is a good cartoon animated tv show. The second season is coming any day now

Joshua Kon

S2 hasnt actually began development yet. Its probably not coming out until late 2023 or early 2024. Its a really good first season of TV

Powers209

That was fun to watch again.

Joel Palenychka

The Expanse is six seasons and is Excellent. The animation for Arcane is very unique in that it's a mix of 3D animation and hand coloured animation. The characters and the objects in the environment are computer generated but the colouring/shading/lighting aspects are all done by hand. It's a truly gorgeous piece of work. You can find out more about it on the Corridor Crew channel on Youtube, but don't watch THAT until you're done the series or you'll hit ALL the spoilers. And as far as I know it has nothing to do with the actual League Of Legends game other than the characters. But then I never played the game so I can't be sure. But I do know the story is excellent and there will be parts that will be scary and there will be parts where you'll want to keep tissues handy. Saying any more wold be spoiling.

SmokeAndACoffee

Wasn't a big fan of this my first time watching, but I'm a bit bias against the League of Legends community in general. Gonna wait until Nat finishes so I can binge it in a day with her commentary and see if that along with a second viewing gives me "fresh eyes" on it. In the meantime, I hope Cyberpunk: Edgerunners makes it on the poll for next animated series! Looks incredible so far, and nothing but super positive reviews from what I've seen.

SilverWolf

Also Bridging the Rift! The have a whole episode talking about the storyboarding, animation, and compositing. As an animator, it's mind-blowingly good 😃

SilverWolf

Yeah, I've never been a part of the league community, but I hear it can be pretty bad. I hope you enjoy it on second viewing! I keep hearing people mention Edgerunner, might have to check it out soon! What's the premise?

Myles Away

This show and the video game have almost nothing to do with one another. I had no idea what League of Legends was and absolutley adored this show.

Jonathan Wiking

Please watch Doctor Who after Arcane is finished. 🤩

siggemushu

I’m so happy that you’re reacting to this one 🥹 I hope you love it! 🧡

SmokeAndACoffee

@Yani Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a very graphic, violent, and gory anime set in a dystopian future where giant corporations pretty much run everything, poverty and crime are rampant, and everything is generally terrible; lol. Cybernetic alterations to the human body are commonplace; people will replace their arms and legs with cyberware prosthetics, have chip slots in their skulls where they can input software to learn martial arts Matrix style. It's based off of a Pen & Paper game similar to Dungeons & Dragons, and a videogame that recently came out called Cyberpunk 2077. The show so far (I've only been able to watch one episode with all the holiday madness lol), seems to be about a young poor kid who is struggling to make it in this dystopian world. @ Myles Yea, I hear that a lot that people who were into the game didn't enjoy it as much who just found the series on it's own. That's why I'm hoping that giving it a second viewing now after so much time, and having Nat's commentary along with it will help me appreciate it a bit more. It's definitely a decent show in general, and I bet Nat will enjoy it a lot. I just didn't think it was quite deserving of so many people hyping it up hardcore calling it some sort of masterpiece. It's good, but it's not THAT good. Geez. lol. Sorta like James Cameron's Avatar. Sure it was incredibly pretty, and a fun watch. But holy shit did people go crazy for that movie, when many aspects of it were just really really lame. Like, come on, you're gonna name the precious metal you want to obtain "Unobtainium".... o_O...... *facepalms so effin hard. Even aside from that the story itself was very basic.

Micah Zimmer

I would agree to disagree Smoke. The show has overwhelming positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, it's swept practically every award it's been nominated for, and is undeniably an evolution in animation. What's stopping it from clearing this bar? What sort of impersonal standard is it not meeting?

Mastervodo

/K.N. I should easily be able to contrast and compare how characters deal with trama and loss.

Foxyguava

Holy moly! the journey begins.

Jayson Phillips

I can't help crying everytime I watch this show. >.<

KT Bees

Today was very long and something about that "yes you" opening was very good. Excellent little hit of dopamine.

PabloGreen26

first time watching this and i got chills too as soon as the intro started lol
