Should I watch Black Adam first or Man of Steel?

(If we do start with Man of Steel, it doesn't mean we have to watch ALL the DC movies. Only if that's something the majority of y'all want. But I've heard the first Suicide Squad is ROUGH haha)

Comments

Joshua Kon

Where is the avoid the really bad quality of films? There are a couple gems in here but there are more films that are just bad and hard to watch. Its not Last airbender bad, but its closer to last airbender than most MCU movies.

The Dingo

Wasn't a fan of Black Adam

Noyes33

Man of Steel started it all and it is a good movie. You can ask and we can tell you which movies to skip.

Boomcity

Just think of the first Suicide Squad as part of your new cringe watch series!

Adam McCabe

Definitely Man of Steel as it’s better 😂

CHRISXGAMESALOT

Suicide Squad isn't as bad as everyone makes it to be it just could've been better. Like the main villain could been someone else or portrayed better.

Cole Crouse

The 1978 Superman is also worth it.

Essero Eson

The first Suicide Squad IS rough, but worth a watch and really required for some characters you see in the second Suicide Squad film. And I don't care if a film just has Margo Robbie reading off a shopping list for 2 hours, I'm watchin it.

Javier Reyes

Watch the first suicide squad it’s “dumb” fun

Jon Pushes Buttons

Best to start with Man of Steel, check out The Suicide Squad, and experience a self imposed Mandela effect that other DC movies existed once…but they were good and all starred Sinbad.

MightyHobo

Same problem that most DCEU movies have: Directors who are a bad fit and then the movie gets chopped and screwed by a committee of WB executives who understand cinema as well as a canary understands algebra.

Darryl Low

Man of Steel is fun with some good moments, and it sets up the Superman origin story. And it has a great Zimmer score. Have an awesome Wednesday Nat, and Happy St. Andrews Day to Lady Natalie. Have a braw day 😊💛

Ken Schneyer

True, and it's probably a truer representation of Superman as he appears in the comics, but it's also relentlessly silly in some ways.

Jason Dolan

Anyone who said Black Adam first needs to reexamine their life choices. Man of Steel! Let's go on the Batfleck Wonder Gal Super Cavill journey together for Xmas!

Daniel Casillas

Black Adam is the worst DCEU movie in my opinion

Rebecca Solomon

The first Suicide Squad is not required viewing for the second The Suicide Squad ... which IS required viewing!! PS then watch Peacemaker S1. You will want to!

2026-09-06 12:00 If you are getting into DCEU, here's what I would suggest: Man of Steel Batman vs Superman Ultimate Edition (This edition is 30 minutes longer and tells a better story) Wonder Woman Aquaman Shazam Birds of Prey The Suicide Squad (2021) And skip Black Adam. It's not a good movie and given how big of a flop it is, the character won't return. :P

Elisa H.

I haven't had time to watch black adam yet so Man of steel by default. Man of steel and wonder woman are good.

dieselbeast

Dc is nowhere as good as marvel overall, aquaman is awesome tho so is Shazam and that's about it lmao

Declan Molloy

I remember when the first suicide squad came out I was so hyped I tried to convince myself it was good even though yeah it’s pretty bad. However I’d advise watching it if you plan on watching the excellent 2021 sequel/reboot, if anything just to see how much better it is than the original.

Ian

I don't actually mind the first suicide squad it's not going to win any awards mind you 😃 also yes if Margot Robbie is in it I too am watching ,the 2nd though I do enjoy cuz it leads to peacemaker which is just bonkers but I really had fun watching it . Havnt seen black and so I vote man of steel 👍

Jason Dolan

I disagree. I thought Black Adam was pretty damn good. I also think Nat should bite the bullet and watch Suicide Swaud. She watched THE LAST AIRBENDER for crying out loud. Just do the FULL DCEU experience.

Ken Schneyer

Actually I think it would be fun to watch, in this order: (1) an episode of the 1950s Superman series; (2) the 1978 film; (3) an episode of Lois & Clark; (4) an episode of Smallville; and (5) Man of Steel. The evolution would be fascinating.

Diiirk706

Just start the dcAu the dcEu SUUUUUUUUUCKS. Please God, eugh.

Peter Yocum

Black Adam first, precisely *because* Man of Steel is better. You can eat veggies and then enjoy dessert, or enjoy dessert and endure veggies. Why set her up to be disappointed?

Jeb Manning

Just start with Black Adam. Man of Steel stinks. Plus, Man of Steel barely has anything to do with Black Adam. So there's not really any connections you need to know about before watching Black Adam. The only one you might want to watch first, although you don't really have to, is Shazam. Shazam alludes to Black Adam and some of the lore of Shazam would help you understand Black Adam better. However, it's also not super important to watch Shazam to understand Black Adam.

REDR58

Best to start with Superman 1978, Superman II 1980, Batman 1989 and Batman Returns 1992...and stop there. But Man of Steel for sure then Wonder Woman and Shazam (Wonder Woman and Shazam are excellent). Then stop. :)

Steve J

IMO, Man of Steel, first WW, second Suicide Squad are the only DC movies really worth watching. Maybe Shazam if you're feeling it.

Danishprince

Oh man I had hoped we would never get to these movies.. There's 1-2 decent ones but the rest are such a painful experience :(

Mark Daza

DC movies outside Batman and Superman have been mid at best. After Man of Steel, definitely need to check out the Ultimate cut of Batman v Superman, Wonder Woman, Shazam and Zack Snyder’s original cut of the Justice League (NOT the crappy 2017 Whedon version). Can’t watch Aquaman anymore cause of Amber lol.

Joe Blankenship

What about Ms. Marvel? Iman Vellani is delightful.

Seth Workman

Don’t let too many people color your opinion. The movies will be fun to watch no matter what people say. But if your going to watch them, watch them in the order they were released just like everyone else did

Mir Boby

Please react to Wonder Woman:)

REDR58

I'd only watch the second Suicide Squad to get a feel for who Peacemaker is for his series which is the best thing DC has ever done.

Jason Dolan

Look, you watched THE LAST AIRBENDER.... nothing wrong with a bad movie here and there and in that spirit, I would vote to do the full DCEU experience. This is my watch order suggestion: Man of Steel (no post credits) Batman vs Superman Ultimate Edition (This edition is 30 minutes longer and tells a better story) (no post credits) Suicide Squad (post credits) Wonder Woman (no post credits) Justice League (Snyder Cut) (there's a tag but I can't remember if it is post credits or not) Aquaman (no post credits) Wonder Woman 1984 (post credits scene) - another bad movie to some Birds of Prey (no post credits) The Suicide Squad (2021) (post credits) Peacemaker Season 1 Shazam (post credits) Black Adam (post credits) Josstice League (just for the fun of it because it is SO different than the amazing Snyder Cut but you should maybe watch it for educational purposes, lol) I would do a poll asking people if they want you to watch all the DCEU movies and Peacemaker to get the complete experience, or to just vote as you go. Like watch Man of Steel and then do a BVS poll, yes or no, and if people don't want you to watch Suicide Squad, then you do an individual poll. But if the majority wants you to just watch everything, you'll get your answer in that first poll. For a completionist on YouTube, I think it'll do quite well!

Steve SG-1

First suicide squad was alright IMHO.

Kyle

Watch both Suicide Squad movies then Peacemaker skip everything else.

Trinity Davis

Haven't seen Black Adam and don't really have a huge interest it's the rock I get it whatever but I remember man of steel being good for a DC movie but it's been a while 😅

Navjot Singh
>>96624892

On second thought, Justice League should be off the table as well. It doesn't lead anywhere.

Frankie Crews

Man of Steel and Wonder Woman. Forget everything else.

Mastervodo

If it's not the worst, it's certainly trying for the title.

Tay Schumaker

The DCU movies are all over the map. No real coherent vision, but there are some fun ones out there. I think watching all of them in their different iterations would be exhausting though

Lisa Tosti

I agree with the above. Shazam is actually my favorite DC movie and I can't wait for the second one.

FateMalone

Man of steel, Bvs ultimate edition, wonder woman are the only movies i really really want u to watch though the others are good too

Mike Hell

People saying Black Adam first are insane. Why would you watch Black Adam first when Man of Steel, a legitimately good film, is sitting right there? And if she wants, Nat can watch the rest after that. But Man of Steel is easily the best DCEU film that has been released so far. Then you'll be ready for Witcher after watching Henry Cavill for 2 hours lol

djKENTO

I literally messaged you this year after I got the box set in 4K and finally WE GO TO WAR!!!

Brian Jones

Not even remotely as painful as almost all of phase 4 Marvel.

Brian Kidling

I know Natalie punished herself with the last airbender movie, but is she trying to make that a new thing? Watching the DCEU is bad not just because the movies are bad. But fans are so toxic to anyone if they dont like the poor quality movies. Not all DCEU fans are that way but the vocal majority are

djKENTO

This is the move.

Lisa Tosti

Even if you don't plan to do many DC movies, I HIGHLY recommend the first Wonder Woman and Shazam. You don't need to have seen any other movies to watch them either.

simon.shoots

Black Adam was awful, man of steel and then the Justice League Snyder Cut / that’s it lol

Aaron Chandler

I generally like it when people can go into these movies without bias so they can form their own opinions. But I break that rule with Suicide Squad. Don't do it unless you really want to torture yourself.

Jordan Love

First Suicide Squad sucked. Watch it anyway. It'll make the 2nd one all the sweeter. Besides, if we all had to suffer thru it, so should you 😉.

Narutoanime16

You could watch Black Adam first it does take place in modern day & the Characters in it are in a movie for the first time. I’d watch some of the animated films too to know more of the characters

Katrina Lehto

Shazam and Aquaman are fun but they're not especially /good/.

Aizen

Even if you dont want to watch all DC Movies i highly recommend Man of Steel. The Movie is absolutely awesome :D One of my most favourite Superhero movies

Xenic Mark

Lol, you mean like almost all fandoms? I mean there are people that are toxic in all fandoms

Steve J

Peacemaker was far more gloriously fun that it ever deserved to be. I'm guessing that's what got J.Gunn the job as DC overlord.

Mastervodo

Please please please do NOT watch them all. Such as waste of your precious time. Probably out of all of them, Suicide Squad 2 was the best. SS1 isn't as bad as people say, mainly because of Margot Robbie and Will Smith's characters. Nat would like Shazam I think. Wonder Woman 1 was OK. Maybe Batman vs Superman. Just..... man.... if we HAVE to get into the DCEU movies... That's a minefield of movie bombs.

Narutoanime16

I didn’t think black Adam was bad I just wish they elaborated more on the Justice society

Micah Zimmer

The first Wonder Woman seemed decent to me.

Jordan Love

Haven't seen it yet, but I find that extraordinarily hard to believe.

Jacky Liang

Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman (Snyder cut), Wonder Woman, Justice League (Snyder Cut) - the other DC movies are honestly not worth watching (e.g. the 2nd Wonder Woman, Suicide Squad, Black Adam)

Josh G

Not sure who talked her into the DCEU but there a couple passable movies. Man of Steel, Wonder Woman and Shazam are about it. ZS's JL is nearly as awful as the regular cut.

Ian Forbes

“The Suicide Squad” (the second one with the obviously different “The” to know it’s different) is the only good DC film since the Nolan Batman trilogy and the only one I’d rewatch. I wish you all the luck in the DC endeavor. I’ll look forward to your other content (and will continue to happily subscribed no matter what you do for occasional content).

Sean Obrock

Woohoo! Movie Mike has deemed me insane. Wait until you see my low, low used car prices! :)

Joshua Kon

No I dont ever agree with Brian but he's right here. DCEU fans literally review bombed any WB film for awhile because they didnt get what they wanted. Its a fansbase like no other at tearing others down

Kevin Maguire

Honestly, I'd rather watch your reaction to 1978's Superman-The Movie and 1989's Batman. That said, you don't HAVE to watch Man Of Steel first if you want to watch Black Adam. In fact James Gunn's Suicide Squad sequel is a more direct tie in to Black Adam.

Ian Forbes

100% agree. I keep hoping a new franchise runner will manifest and steer the DCEU into something better but it hasn’t happened yet.

Nicholas Sulikowski

Suggested viewing order. This is mostly in release order, save for the two Justice League cuts: Man of Steel Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition Suicide Squad (mid credits; there's an Extended Cut, but it doesn't really add much, and the theatrical is far more widely available) Wonder Woman Justice League theatrical (mid and post credits; canon, but bad) Zack Snyder's Justice League (post credits; better, but with some non-canon parts AFAIK) Aquaman (mid credits) Shazam! (mid and post credits) Birds of Prey (no post credits, but an extra line of dialogue towards the end of the credits) Wonder Woman 1984 (post credits) The Suicide Squad (2021) (mid and post credits) Peacemaker season 1 Black Adam (mid credits)

James Runn

Man of Steel Batman vs Superman Ultimate Edition ‘Zack Synders’ Justice League Experience the trilogy that has a cult following that not even an MCU film can compete with 😂🙏🏽

Mastervodo

As someone who DOESN'T have anyone in my life to tell me to eat my veggies - I just have the dessert and skip the veggies completely. Avoid Black Adam!

Erik Stevenson

Ohh going the DCEU route is gonna spark some spicy comment sections over time haha. I don't feel strongly between either of these options, but good luck Nat!

Danishprince

Phase 4 MCU is bad but I'd rather watch 100 movies of that low quality than see someone dive into the DCEU. Most of them are some of the worst movies I have ever seen. DC can't make good live action movies.. They should just stick to their animated content.

Geoffrey T. Blackwell

Oof. This poll and what it means about some future content really hurts my brain.

Jordan Love

I understand the sentiment, but The Suicide Squad is better than almost any MCU movie. Wonder Woman (1st one) was pretty good too.

Walter Lopez

I adore Man of Steel! I'd say you should poll each DC movie and let us decide whether or not it's worth watching. I'm also wondering if you'll watch Josstice League or Snyder's Version or both 😬

Cocaine guy

Just watch them all in order. Ignore negative comments and make your own opinion. But definitely watch the Ultimate Edition of Batman v Superman and Zack Snyders Justice League, not the theatrical Justice League.

—thoughtstorms—keith—

The only decent Superman content since the Fleischer brothers black and white cartoons is called The Boys. But i will watch Natalie react to the phone book.

Joshua Kon

"Ignore all negative comments and make your own opinion" proceeds to give your own opinion for which movies to watch and going back on the statement you made.

Slick

Agreed

Michael T. Ford III @ Racial Draft Podcast

Maybe we could have a whole poll series after MoS for the next DCEU film to watch. It's interesting seeing people disagree about which movies are and aren't essential.

Ernesto

I would have just watched Superman (1978) and Batman (1989), but Man of Steel is fine. Just don't watch everything, this should just be a pick and choose as there is a lot of "Fool's Gold" in the DCEU.

Mastervodo

If we gotta watch a Rock movie - how about Jumanji?

Cocaine guy

If she wants she can watch both versions I wouldn't mind. Just making sure she watches the longer ones not the cut down versions.

jamie jones

Why the f would you start with black adam? If you wanna skip ahead, start with the suicide squad(second one by james gunn) then watch peacemaker. Bvs and the first suicide squad suck so bad

Joshua Kon

The movies are painful and there is a loud portion of fans that bully anyone who calls it as such online :/ I remember that fan group review bombing WB movies because they werent bringing back Zack Synder. Its one of the main reasons RT's audience score is for verified tickets

Erik Stevenson

The options in the poll make sense; Black Adam is a) current and b) not particularly connected to the rest of the DCEU. Pretty reasonable to see if people actually want her to start at the beginning or just watch the new thing that people are actually talking about right now.

oscar latorre

well it seems that black adam is kinda the start of the reboot of the DCU

Steve J

"seems that black adam is kinda the start of the reboot of the DC" ... James Gunn has entered the chat

Patrick Mitchell

Definitely watch Man of Steel. And you can skip some of the DC movies, the only ones I’d recommend watching are Batman v Superman the Ultimate Edition, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Shazam. And if you want to brave the 4 hour version, Justice League the Snyder Cut, but I can definitely understand if you want to skip that, but don’t watch the theatrical cut. The Peacemaker show is also pretty good and worth a watch, but you’d need to watch the second Suicide Squad movie first (you don’t need to watch the first one before watching the second one).

jamie jones

If the options made sense erik, the poll would be closer. And black adam is nowhere near good enough to warrant skipping ahead. And its pretty connected to shazam, the suicide squad and the dcu in general(it’s officially called DCU now also). And oscar, the suicide squad is what you are describing, not black adam

Chris Nakai

Man Of Steel Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition Wonder Woman Zack Snyder's Justice League Aquaman The Suicide Squad Black Adam

Hugo deroo

i think you can watch black adam directly but if you want to see DC movies you just need to watch "Man Of steel" "Batman V Superman"' & "zack snyder's justice league" the rest is irrelevant

Arronax06

I admire your optimism when you say "it doesn't mean we have to watch ALL the DC movies" :D . I'm curious to see if any will be voted as a skip in the future :)

Alan Felicia

IMO, Nat might get bored in tears with MOS! LOL! And that's coming from a long-time DC comic book fan! Henry Cavill was perfectly cast but Snyder story telling was mediocre at best.- But, wanna check out Nat's reaction.

Leetmouse

If Warner Brothers can't figure out this DC thing, what makes you think we can? Man of steel BTW.

j4zmon

If it were a friend wanting a movie recommendation I'd tell them to skip to the better ones, but Natalie's job is literally to react to movies, good or bad, and all the things that come with that. If she's committing to get into the DCEU, she should therefore watch all of them. That said, these are mostly bottom of the barrel movies, so she really should only watch them when she's got a schedule gap. I don't see any obligation to rush.

Erik Stevenson

A lopsided poll does not mean the poll doesn't make sense, Jamie, it just means there's a clear preference. If you want a reactor that doesn't poll the audience and just makes all decisions themselves, feel free to start your own channel.

Patrick Egan

Do you NEED to watch the other DC movies before Black Adam? No. There are a couple of references But several of them are worth watching. NOTE - I'm gonna mention these movies out of chronological order, but whichever ones you decide to watch, doing them in chrono order is best. I know some people crap all over Man Of Steel, but I loved it. The theatrical cut of Batman v Superman was rough, but the Ultimate Edition(i.e. the director's cut) is much better. The first Wonder Woman is awesome, but WW 1984 was kind of a turd. Aquaman was pretty fun, certainly worth a watch. The Suicide Squad movies are pretty meh, though Margot Robbie is a lot of fun as Harley Quinn. Birds Of Prey was just bad. Shazam was fantastic. And then of course there's Justice League. The theatrical Justice League has.... problems. Zack Snyder's Justice League aka the Snyder Cut is awesome. Yes it's long, but it's worth it. It's also broken up into six chapters, making it easy to post a reaction to it in segments.

Eve

I've heard the criticism of the DCEU so when I started watching them I went in with zero expectations and I really enjoyed Wonder Woman and Aquaman. So I would like to see you react to those If you want to continue. I don't really remember Man of Steel but would be fun to watch it with you again!

Patrick Mitchell

Although I suppose you could watch the other DCEU movies if you want to watch more bad movies like The Last Airbender, although none of them are THAT bad. Also I was just listing DCEU movies in that previous comment. There’s other DC movies worth watching like the first two Christopher Reeve Superman movies and the Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer Batman movies.

Paweł Wiatrowski

DC movies are completly not my cup of tea, so against :D But I'm probably in the minority :)))

Myles Away

Will these movies be a part of your cringe list?

LightsCameraJake

I'd just do release order and be sure to watch the extended versions of each one and the snyder cut of Justice league if you plan to watch these. I personally think they are all fun films to watch.

LeSteeler

It's really good to start watching the DCU now, because James Gunn is now in charge of running that franchise and it will be getting really good soon most likely.

Rich

Hope not

Rich

I disagree. That movie is awesome

LeSteeler

I wouldn't say most

Logan Kerlee

I'm a fan of DC content. so I'm stoked that we're starting with Man of Steel. Though - I'd REALLY prefer if we started with the OG 1978 Superman. That one's amazing and should be seen by everybody.

Jordan Love

Controversial opinion: 2017 Justice Leage was better than Snyder Cut. 1. It's shorter. 1a. No unnecessary slo-mo causing unnecessarily long run-time. 2. It hasn't gotten the small amount of actual humor ripped out of it. 3. It's shorter. Fight me.

LeSteeler

How can every movie from a company that has different toned movies make u feel like that?

LeSteeler

Seems they can now

Myles Away

Ya know ... like how Natalie watched The Last Airbender

Joel

I went into the theater knowing full well the controversy of the rewrites and joss whedon basically gutting the film. So with that said it was still a fun experience. And the John Williams theme was chefs kiss

Joel

I would argue you should start with Christopher Reeves Superman 1 and 2

David Martin

SN: You should watch the first 2 OG Superman movies when you get the chance.

Deadstar

Have to start with Man of Steel, and proceed through the rest. The first Suicide Squad yes not the best movie but it's still a fun watch and some of us actually do like it but at the same time we do recognize its shortcomings.

Paweł Wiatrowski

maybe I haven't found the right one yet :) OK, I like some of them, Shazam! was quite cool. But I wouldn't have much fun watching all of them with Natalie, so I cast my vote :)

Rory cornetto

I voted for black Adam, but as dour as snyder tends to be, I did love man of steel

Sean Maher

Man of Steel first but you'd actually need to watch Shazam before Black Adam. It's probably better than both of them and leads right into Black Adam

Leetmouse

if you are referring to Emmerich departing, only time will tell.

David Crabtree

Start with Man of Steel.. then... Batman V Superman (Ultimate Edition), Wonder Woman, Zack Snyder's Justice League (The Snyder Cut), Aquaman, Shazam, Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman 1984, THE Suicide Squad, Black Adam.

Jordan Love

I like 3 as well. Silly and bad, but Richard Pryor... for sure skip 4 until bad movie night.

sarCC

They're all mostly bad. The only ones I recommend watching are Wonder Woman, Birds Of Prey, The Suicide Squad, and Shazam.

RealPersonMan

just watch THE suicide squad and the peacemaker show

David Crabtree

That's the beauty of movies being subjective. I adore most of these films, with the exception of the first Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey.

David Crabtree

Watch and decide for yourself, instead of relying on what you've "heard". Isn't that the point of doing these reactions?

Irrelevant Productions

Please do not watch Man of Steel, Black Adam stands on its own I promise. Watch the fun DCEU movies if you’re going to watch some movies from the past but in any order you want.

SmokeAndACoffee

Should be a third option on the poll to just skip the DC movies all together *chuckles

tezster

Black Adam is an average comicbook movie, with a cookie cutter plot and origin story. IOW, it's not that good.

HeyItsSuper

I have a "weird" request if you're going through the DCU. Please watch both versions of Justice League, with the Snyder Cut being last. I watched both back to back and the Snyder Cut is so drastically different, that too me it felt like a totally different movie and honestly made me appreciate his A LOT more then if I hadn't seen the first release.

Benji Ford

Why bother 90% of DC movies are bad except for james gunn's ones and the batman i was a DC fan but not anymore after like batman v superman it all went down hill

Richard Maurer

Not big into DC but this seems about right to me. What ever you do don't watch the WW sequel, Wonder Woman 1984. Worst DCEU movie - by far,

Richard Maurer

She asked for DCEU movies, so anything pre Man of Steel wouldn't be on the table.

Jason Gillman

I’ll be happy if we get the good Suicide Squad. And maybe Peacemaker.

Richard Maurer

There are no DCEU movies that are better than most MCU movies. SOME MCU movies yes, but not most.

Kiskotagan

I would personally want to see reactions to all the DCU content, but movies like Suicide Squad (2016), Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman 1984 can be skipped if you’re looking to cut down and avoid superhero fatigue. Suicide Squad (2016) is the only real terrible entry in the DCU in my opinion. Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman 1984 are at least fun to watch. That said, I would still enjoy a reaction to them all.

Richard Maurer

@ Brian - Never miss a chance to attack Phase 4, right? Let it go, Phase 4 is over and most of it wasn't nearly as bad as people claim - except for Love and Thunder, which was garbage.

Narutoanime16

Are we counting any of the Animated stuff too or jsut live action ? Most people still haven’t seen how great the animated stuff is

Benji Ford

Yeah the animated stuff is amazing but idt thats what shes talking abt but then again its just my opinion

Richard Maurer

I think so many of the Phase 4 haters have attacked this show (and probably never watched it) that it's gotten a bad reputation that it doesn't deserve, Not many of the bigger reactors have done Ms. Marvel, unfortunately.

Richard Maurer

The only really good DCEU movies are Wonder Woman, The Suicide Squad. and Shazam. Most of the rest are mediocre, and one, WW 1984, is truly awful.

Dave A

Honestly, most of the DCEU is rough, not just Suicide Squad. I'd watch whatever you're interested in, but don't think you need to watch everything.

Mike Adams

Stick with just Man of Steel and Wonder Woman, and you'll be set.

Christopher Boscarino

I'd say Man of Steel, WW, B v S (as the setup to JL), then Zack Snyder;s Justice League.

Paul G

Exactly David.

Ben Wheeler

Lol we would be better off treating JL as a miniseries. Ain’t no way she’d react for 4 hours at a stretch

djKENTO

I’m gonna be 100% real right here… I’d rather watch the first Suicide Squad over many of the early MCU films. Thor The Dark World? No thank you. I’d rather watch it over Eternals or Multiverse of Madness too…

ccc

i mean she did lord of the rings! it wasnt the extended edition but thats something right

Ben Wheeler

For my part I’d much rather risk fatigue in a reaction to DC Animated Universe than slog through DCEU

Richard Maurer

Wonder Woman1984 says "Hold my beer".

Johnny

First Wonder Woman was good. Otherwise, DC movies feel bad, awkward, confusing. Don't overcommit, you can take it slow, one-off movies or something.

Richard Maurer

The only reply I can make to this is everyone's entitled to their opinion.

Richard Maurer

This comments sections is hilarious. Reading through it I think I've seen every possible combination of what to, and how to, watch the DCEU. Except for any that include watching Wonder Woman 1984, of course. I think most people are trying to forget it even exists.

djKENTO

Thank you for letting me know I’m allowed to have my own feelings! So cool.

Brian Jones

@Richard - Oh relax Richard, you're welcome to like bad movies, totally your prerogative, but it's not going to stop me pointing out that they are bad. Just being honest, I'd take the worst of the DCEU, even Joss Whedon's Justice League or WW84 (Easily the worst of the group), over the vast majority of the offerings in phase 4 of Marvel. Yet we seem to be watching every one of the phase 4 offerings, so why not do all of the DCEU as well?🤷 "most of it wasn't nearly as bad as people claim" Yes it was.😂

Richard Maurer

Well I was trying not be mean by not adding "no matter how bad they are" to end of my sentence.. That's what I get for trying to be nice.

Brian Jones

Actually, it's one of the better offerings in phase 4 (average, but average is good for phase 4), but the bottom line regarding Ms. Marvel is that almost no one watched it. Much like Andor, it just didn't do well with viewership, so it's not that highly requested. I'd vote for it if it ever made one of Nat's polls though.

Kevin Mowery

Man of Steel is ... watchable. Wonder Woman is legit good. After that, I'd say ... oof. Maybe Aquaman, Shazam, Birds of Prey, THE Suicide Squad (you can skip the first one; it's amazingly boring), and ... you already watched The Batman with R-Pats.

Brian Jones

Early MCU? I'd say phase 4 contains the worst of Marvel. Although I will agree with you on Dark World.

Richard Maurer

@ Brian - Okay, now I know you're just a hater. Anyone who says WW 1984 was better than ANY MCU property is just being a troll. Even, god help me, Love and Thunder was better than WW 1984.

Brian Jones

Had the studio not utterly butchered the first Suicide Squad, we might have gotten a better movie..... But same can be said for 2 of the three Snyder films as well. WB/DC management was a mess throughout that entire time period.

Byteheist

just skip the whole thing, they're not fun :P

Richard Maurer

Wonder Woman 1984 will almost certainly be skipped, and with good reason.

Brian Jones

Honestly Nat, I'd watch them all and just judge for yourself. Marvel has certainly had it's chance, I'd give the DCEU the same opportunity. Just watch them in release order, and make sure you watch the BvS Ultimate Edition, and the Snyder cut of Justice League. At least that keeps the integrity of what the director intended. Sadly we don't have a David Ayer cut of the first Suicide Squad film, so the only option in that case is the version the studio absolutely butchered.

Xenic Mark

You'd think people in this comment section haven't been here to watch Marvel movies that are way worse than suicide squad. Personally don't care much about what movies she reacts to in the DCEU. I think they would all be interesting from a reaction perspective. I mean people were here through all the X-Men movies. ALL OF THEM, and the world didn't end.

Joe Blankenship

You could breeze through the rest of Marvel if you posted 2 episodes at a time. Plus, there's a Christmas special that you gotta watch too. And we're months away from Loki season 2.

Saifu

Just pick and choose the good ones. The DCU is getting soft rebooted anyways. No need to care about everything that has been released thus far.

djKENTO

Phase 4 feels like Phase 1 part 2 to me…

Richard Maurer

To be fair, if I were a bigger DC fan I'd be pretty toxic at this point too. WB deserves every bit of toxicity they get for the mess they made of the DCEU.

Brian Jones

@Richard - Ridiculous.....lol, Man of Steel alone is better than the VAST majority of the MCU films by a country mile.

Joel

Man of Steel Batman v Superman Extended Edition WW Aquaman Justice League Snyder Cut Shazam The Suicide Squad (James Gunn) Peacemaker Black Adam

Brian Jones

Please....lol..... Dr. Strange was easily as bad as WW84, as was Eternals and that sad excuse for a Thor movie. Don't even get me started on breaking down everything wrong with phase 4, I could go on for days. And no I'm not a hater at all, I'm actually a pretty big fan of most of the Marvel content. The new Christmas special was actually pretty good. Sadly James Gunn is done with Marvel after guardians 3 so that's yet another huge loss to their talent pool.....I even like a few of the offerings in phase 4. It's not ALL bad, but the vast majority of it was.

History Nuggets

I'd watch them all from the start. Some are better than others, but I think they will all have good reaction material. Don't skip the Peacemaker TV show, either.

Brian Jones

@MightyHobo - LOL.... Sounds more like the current state of the MCU.

Mannygogou

if you can, watch Man of Steel first for style points. Not for any particular plot but there is a kind of film arc.

Delta

Definitely have to go with Man of Steel. Would enjoy seeing the Trilogy of Man of Steel, Batman V Superman Extended Edition and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Have you seen Superman The Movie (1978) with Christopher Reeve? Would really like seeing you react to both Man of Steel and Superman (1978)

SilentBobFather

Please wait on Black Adam till it comes to HBOMAX.

Kate Herzig

I also think seeing Shazam before Black Adam would be beneficial as though 2 characters are almost 2 sides of the same coin. And Shazam is just delightful.

Ken

*me, from the back row* How about less superhero stuff? *crowd boos*

Skizane

I actually really liked Man of Steel, it was a more thoughtful film than people give it credit for.

Richard Maurer

@Brian - Ridiculous, right back at ya!

Chris Gronau

This is a hard one. While a few of the DC movies aren't that great, there are some really good ones (the first Wonder Woman in particular). Do we want to subject Nat to a bunch of mediocre (at best) movies for a few really good ones? I voted yes because even the bad movies would probably provide entertaining reactions, but I can see either way.....

Richard Maurer

Just stop. your opinions are just way off the mark, no matter how endlessly you repeat them. Love and Thunder was awful as I've already admitted. But that's literally the only MCU project that is that bad, Mediocre sure, there are plenty that are that but T:LaT is the only one I can't stand and you stating your OPINIONS as fact isn't going to change my mind.

Paul Patine

if you watch Man of Steel first, you could go ahead and watch Black Adam next. No need to watch all DC movies before Black Adam if you’re interested in seeing it.

George Baxter

I'd honestly prefer if Nat didnt do any of the DC films... yes Wonder Woman is good but it doesnt present anything we haven't seen in other Marvel movies. With the MCU it at least feels accumulative and rewarding but the DC universe is so disparate and bleak.

Mathguy1

I would start with the original Christopher Reeve Superman I and II. If you've already seen them, Man of Steel is essentially retelling those 2 movies. That being said, if you plan on watching Justice League, you have to watch Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman beforehand as the story continues were BM vs SM left off. However, if you plan on watching DC movies, I recommend watching Man of Steel before Black Adam. In my opinion, the DC movies lack the charm that the MC movies have. The MCU develops their story much better (for the most part). On the DC side, I feel that's why a lot of fans loved the 1st Wonder Woman movie as it had really good story development. That is very rare in the DC movies.

George Baxter

Definitely two sides of a coin; in the sense that Dwayne has no intention of Black Adam ever even seeing Shazam. He wants him fighting Superman for some reason... two invincible people punching each other endlessly for 30minutes?? Fun..

I get that its a taste preference but honestly I dont see Nat vibing with these movies.

james repka

Hence Deadpool's comment to Keira Knightly in DP2: "You're so dark! Are you sure you're not from the DC Universe?

Arronax06

Maybe, maybe not, usually when a poll has the options between watching and not watching, watching wins, because people don't like missing out on something, even if that something might not be great :) .

Brian Jones

"Do we want to subject Nat to a bunch of mediocre (at best) movies for a few really good ones?" Why not? We did with Marvel..... She might even enjoy them.🤷 "I voted yes because even the bad movies would probably provide entertaining reactions" Exactly.

Jeff E

PLEASE heed the warning!! Please be VERY SELECTIVE with what DCEU films you waste your time watching, Nat! PLEASE! There are about 3 DCEU films worth watching. The rest is a STEAMING PILE OF HOT GARBAGE and a total waste of time! You should DEFINITELY watch "Man of Steel;" NOT as a precursor to "Black Adam," tho. You should watch it because it's actually a legit good Superman and superhero/comic book film, in general. After that, there are only a couple other good DCEU films I would recommend watching: "Wonder Woman" and "Aquaman." That's it! After that, you might have fun with "Shazam," mostly because the non-superhero stuff is pretty fun and well-done. Other than that, if you want to see good, or even great, DC films, stay away from the DCEU! So, here's my suggestion for DCEU films: 1) Man of Steel 2) Wonder Woman 3) Aquaman 4) (maybe) Shazam Wonder Woman IS first introduced in "Batman v Superman," but her solo film is A PREQUEL that takes place during WWI, so "BvS" has nothing to do with that film at all. Same with Aquaman. He is not introduced in "BvS" like Wonder Woman, but he's VERY briefly shown (we're talking seconds, not minutes). So, just like "Wonder Woman," there is ZERO NEED to watch "BvS" before watching "Aquaman." Don't listen to anyone who tries to say otherwise. You DO NOT need to watch "BvS" before watching either of those films ("Wonder Woman" or "Aquaman"). I personally recommend skipping "Batman v Superman" AND "Suicide Squad"...UNLESS you plan to watch "Justice League." BUT, I DO NOT recommend watching Justice League either (not the original version OR Zach Snyder's 4+ HOUR LONG version). Certain fans will 100% want you, and BEG YOU, to watch "Zach Snyder's Justice League," but TRUST ME on this! IF YOU ARE NOT A HARDCORE DC COMICS FAN, "ZACH SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE" IS NOT FOR YOU!! It's a love letter to the diehard DC Comics fans and, even moreso, to the super fans of Zach Snyder himself. While it is undeniably a beautifully shot film, it is OVER 4 HOURS of DC content that will mostly mean NOTHING to you. You won't understand THE VAST MAJORITY of it, even if you watch "Man of Steel" AND "Batman v Superman" first. It is a film meant for hardcore DC fans. Period. The best way I can explain it using Marvel is if you watched a LONGER version of "Avengers: Endgame" after having only seen the first "Iron Man" film and maybe "Captain America: Winter Soldier." 80-90% of the film would make no sense and have no meaning for you. As for "Black Adam," it's a WASTE OF LIFE! It is one of the most bland superhero films in years, with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson playing himself (like he does in EVERY film). The only difference? This time, he's playing himself doing a really shitty cosplay of Black Adam. It's CRINGE and NOT a necessary DCEU film at this point...AT ALL.

Alvin Baca

Omg it's happening! Marvel is my number 1 but I'm so stoked for you to check out man of steel. Never cared for superman until that movie, one of the best comic book movies in my opinion.

jamie jones

The suicide squad and peacemaker are amazing

jamie jones

If the options made sense erik, the poll would not be as ridiculously lopsided as it is. And i can express my opinion/reasoning for how i voted. And this comment is funny coming from you, erik, the guy who advocates for ignoring polls that dont go your way. You even stated you hoped nats youtube channel would fail if she honoured the results of a specific poll. If you dont like my comment, feel free to ignore it.

Mastervodo

Nat has said several times that she prefers watching good movies, because her reactions are much better when she's being positive.

Mastervodo

The one where flying fast enough to make the Earth rotate backwards somehow turns back time instead of causing an extinction-level natural disaster? That gem?

Mastervodo

I will argue with you. Those movies were silly, over-the-top ridiculous. I think you are watching them through nostalgia-colored glasses.

Mastervodo

The point is trying to react to movies people want to see her react to. Nat simply can't react to "everything anyone has ever watched and liked". And she tries to make the Patreon people happy. These polls are to try and narrow down what she chooses to watch - but at the same time, she can't be watching every old movie and series too (even if they are good)- because that won't bring new eyes to the channel. I imagine it's very hard for Nat to try and juggle all this and every choice she makes SOMEONE is going to complain!

Jeff E

Not a fan of The Suicide Squad but I've heard positive things about Peacemaker. My overall point is that Natalie, who went thru the grand, epic journey through 20+ films in the MCU & most of the Disney+ series, has no connection to the DCEU and will never even come close to that with the DCEU because overall, it's trash. That's why I recommended the best films and that's it, then told her to stick to non-DCEU content for DC Films (JOKER, The Batman).

eemersonm

Enjoying the hilarity of the chaos of the comments section cause the DC movies are so all over the place and the responses to them are equally so. If we're just offering our personal opinions there are very few I like but my personal favorite is Birds of Prey.

Rey

Dc universe is such an incoherent mess it doesnt matter, just whichever seems more intresting for you

james repka

Yes he called him Thanos as well, because Brolin played Thanos as well as Cable in the MCU. The DC joke was there as well. I was trying to be funny by mentioning KIera Knightly. In one of the DP1 post-credits scenes he spoiled that Cable would be in the sequel, and joked that they might cast Knightly to play him.

Jordan Freemyer

If the choice is between Black Adam and Man of Steel, my advice would be to not bother with either one of those very bad films, unless you want to go the MST3k route.

Logan Kerlee

Both of those reactions would be EXCELLENT!! I'd be super pumped if she chose to do that. :)

Logan Kerlee

I'm on board for her skipping Birds of Prey, or rather, I won't be upset if she did. I'd rather her see everything though.

Logan Kerlee

I don't think she'd be up for reacting to a ton of animated movies/shows. I'd love it if she chose to.. but I don't see that happening. Plus - many may complain that she didn't do that for Marvel.

Logan Kerlee

Vodo are you saying that the original Superman movie with Christopher Reeves that was made in 1978 isn't worth watching? That's some nonsense if you are..

Rhys

Not really tbh, Harley is really it

Mastervodo

Alita Battle Angel is in the DCEU. Can she watch that one instead?

dobber

Personally don't care about most of the dceu but the second suicide squad movie and the series after it are great

Foxyguava

As a modifier to dobber's comment... "The Suicide Squad" was written and directed by people that care.... James Gunn. I understand not everybody likes his styles or habits, but I know when he writes he considers the character, their comic or movie history, and their place in the tv/movie universe, even if they end up being props for main characters

Jenny Tolls

To be fair, there aren’t a lot of DCEU movies that are out right now so if you did that start watching them it wouldn’t take long at all.

Opti_Frog

Zack Snyder is good with visuals, and that's about it. He glorified fascism with 300, he made Watchmen without understanding (or agreeing with) the source material's philosophy and political leanings and what he did to the character of Superman (and to an extent Batman) was nothing short of cultural vandalism. When i learned that Snyder wanted to make a film adaptation of Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead (which has now stalled), so many of his weird creative choices made sense to me. The story of Superman as told by an objectivist is a pretty bad idea. Shazam! is worth watching, though.

Luca Tosti

I would say skip the DCEU all together. For now at least, people might be more interested to see your reaction to other highly acclaimed movies over some DC thing... they're just not all that great imo.

jamie jones

Nah the extended bvs was hot garbage too. Though snyders justice league was a significant improvement over that first version

jamie jones

No marvel movie is nearly as bad as bvs, suicide squad 1, theatrical justice league or 1984. Those are all just stupid bad it doesn’t make sense how they got made.

Diiirk706

DCAU > DCEU , also eugggggggggggg this poll

Ben Wheeler

If we gotta watch a Jumanji movie - how about the original?

Diiirk706

..............Where's 2day's vid...... anyone................ ?

James Leighton

Most of the DC films are pretty bad. Maybe run a poll on which you should even bother with.

TheDude

This has been happening off and on. Once she realizes that it hasn’t posted she will take care of it. Not sure why it happens. Tech issues is my first guess.

Diiirk706

Good God; yes please, also someone's gotta get her to start the DCAU. Quite a few other reactors have already too....

Ed Green

I'd rather Nat react to the pilots of all the Arrowverse shows (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrrow, Batwoman, Black Lightning, Superman & Lois and Stargirl, plus any I may have left off that list) than any of the DCEU.

Diiirk706

Patreon being a huge C like usual, I expect... It's HILARIOUS when a site like OF has wayy better BG tech/systems/coding, etc than Freaking Patreon, but here we are...sigh

larshans

The dc movies aren't worth watching tbh x)

Ben Garrod

I personally enjoyed most of the DC movies... Even the 1st Suicide Squad though it has its issues. As far as Superman movies go though my personal favorite movie with Supes is actually an animated movie.... All Star Superman. I think its one of the best movies they've done, animated or otherwise

Alan Felicia

Fight? How about shaking you hand in agreement! LOL!

Darryl Low

Likely another technical issue by Patreon.

Jenn Rose

Sometimes patreon fails to post her scheduled posts and she'll do it manually when she sees that. It all depends when she notices though.

Joshua Kon

Patreon has been really buggy of late :/

El Mexicano

Don’t forget about John Constantine with Keanu Reeves great movie from DC comics.

Ben Wheeler

At least the “Batman saves Superman’s mom” scene is a must though 😄

David Sumner

The first Suicide Squad is awful!

Hugo deroo

insult Snyder then praise shazam.... you're funny

Hugo deroo

as a DcSnyderFan... I can say you probably right

Alfredo

I would say you should react to man of steel. It would be a tragedy not to give that one at least one go around. Oh and Peacemaker. And Suicide squad 2021. And Shazam. Wonder woman 1 only. Batman v Superman. Justice league Snyder cut but I can see a reason not to. Peacemaker is great tho. Had me hooked.

Jeff E

Both are awful. The first one is just MORE awful lol.

Pat_Bez

Dude, you already messed with the stranger things schedule, where's 4x7, girl?

Eryk Klukaczyński

Dude chill out, if you are new or slept somewhere this fall then you should know that patreon sucks lately and sometimes dont post. Sorry for language i'm not native speaker and dont have time to check.

Olivia Carney

She’s had issues in the past with Patreon not posting with the auto-post feature as it’s supposed to - I’m sure she’ll notice soon and get it up!

Parker

Calm down Patrick

Richard Maurer

Anyone who thinks Ayn Rand is worth any time whatsoever is definitely suspect, but I still love 300, fascist or not.

Richard Maurer

Patreon might be the worst run, worst designed site I currently visit. It boggles the mind.

Amanda Ray

What others have said above, and also she didn’t mess with the schedule. There have been a few weeks where Stranger Things came out later in the week, or not at all. She makes the schedule, and we get to enjoy her content whenever it comes out haha

Riolkin

My little opinion: There are several in the DC film universe you can (and should) skip. However, in spite of it getting a really mixed reception, I love Man of Steel and Henry Cavill is my favorite Superman since Christopher Reeves. Most of the people that were angry at the film just didn't like the choices Zach made with the style and character because it was such a departure from the Christopher Reeves style, but the darker and grittier take was exactly what the character needed to be believable and Henry performs it beautifully. Avengers had just come out the year prior, and I think people were expecting a bright and colorful quippy film like Avengers. If the movie were released today I think it would receive a much more positive review than it did then. That cannot be said for all of the Snyder DC films, and its up to you on whether you want to watch the rest of those movies, but Man of Steel is absolutely worth the watch.

Riolkin

What an interesting choice. I disagree personally, but I love that you love it. The best thing about Birds of Prey (for me) was re-introducing me to Jurnee Smollett, because then later that year I started watching Lovecraft Country and she was UNBELIEVABLE in that show.

Riolkin

The DC Animated Universe exists in another realm from anything else DC has done. Most of it is excellent, with only a couple of big flops. The DCAU gives us Kevin Conroy Batman, who is and always will be THE BATMAN of my childhood. There have been some good live action takes, like Battinson and Keaton, but Conroy is the best Batman voice just as Mark Hamil is the best Joker voice.

Jeff E

It's just the unfortunate truth. I REALLY liked "Man of Steel," which was the perfect start to the DCEU, but it all went to shit SO FAST! The DCEU suffered from the same problems that Zack did with "BvS." They were both misguided, overly ambitious and poorly realized. In that way, "BvS" was perfectly emblematic of what the DCEU would become. After "MoS," Snyder should have done ANYTHING except make "BvS." It was too soon. He could have made a proper "MoS" sequel or taken a break to help Affleck make his solo Batman film and/or helped Patty Jenkins make her solo "Wonder Woman" film. All of those were 100x better options than "BvS" but, as I said, he was overly ambitious and lost sight of the long game. Snyder's greatest contribution, BY FAR, to the DCEU was the casting! He was extremely involved in casting, like most directors. He and his LONGTIME dynamic duo of casting directors (Kristy Carlson & Lora Kennedy) assembled brilliant casts for "MoS," "BvS," "JL/ZSJL" and "WW" (every other DCEU project was cast by others). His JL cast was near-perfect (except Ezra Miller, even before all his off-screen BS).

FullMetal B

LOL. Avengers had nothing to do with it. People just want to complain about "quips". It's a piss poor movie, that's the end of it.

bostonate

Thanks, I’ve been wondering about S4E7 as well and wasn’t aware of the auto posting issue.

Lisa Tosti

Holy crap! I was scrolling thru and had to stop and say hi! I wonder if we are distant relatives? It's not a common Italian last name (at least not in the states)

John Piazza

She did say episode 7 was definitely coming out today. If it hasn’t posted I hope she notices and fixes it soon. I’ve been waiting all day to come home from work and get comfy in bed to watch her reaction lol. It’s like 6.5 hours late at this point though

John Piazza

That probably sounded weird without context. I live in a small apartment and basically just have a bedroom with a bed and a 65 inch tv that I use for Ps5 and YouTube videos. I don’t have any couches or chairs or furniture in my house so I pretty much live in my bed. It’s my comfy place when I get home from work.

Śéáń

I'm not a fan of Snyder's style, and think it was a detriment to the DC movie series as a whole, but Cavill is undeniably a great choice for Superman. I really like him in the role, even if the films around him are... not great.

Pat_Bez

Well, dont express your concern or anything, or youll be told to "chill out" and "calm down" by everyone, as if youve sullied reputations.

Pat_Bez

I still love ya , Nat

John Piazza

I mean tbh i am freaking out a little because I’m not watching the Arcane reactions so I’ve literally been waiting a week for this ST one and I already knew I was going to have to wait till I got out of work but I made it and now I’m home and it’s still not up yet. If she doesn’t notice until tomorrow I’ll be devastad because I was looking forward to it all day.

NFXx

Same. I’ll honestly laugh out if it doesn’t upload at all today. With these kind of things happening, she usually gives an update so she still really has no idea at all that the video hasn’t been uploaded yet. But I’m sure it’ll be up sometime later tonight. Hopefully sooner.

Amanda Ray

Same here, I’m really really looking forward to this reaction. Was about to get my snacks ready at 12 and have been checking in ever since 😂 I’ll drop whatever I’m doing when I get the notification lol. Tech glitches man 🥲

Barry

I recommend Man of Steel, BvS Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman, Snyder Cut Justice League, Aquaman, Shazam, and Black Adam. Ignore the critics and make your own opinion.

Chris Geyer

Shazam is the only good one

Jim Lent

Man of Steel is a ridiculous cartoon, an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink mess. Don't waste your time.

Rey

I hope you never have to witness the mess that is batman vs superman lol

REDR58

Suicide Squad was fine with the exception of the absolutely silly/goofy/ridiculous main villain.

REDR58

The Snyder Cut is 4 hours of pain and features a nameless grunt somehow affecting the outcome of the ending, much like how Glass ends with some faceless goon absurdly knocking off a very important character. Gods, I despise Glass... Anyway, the Snyder cut...I'm not sure which I loathe more. Probably The Snyder Cut, as it's longer.

REDR58

I dunno, aside from Margot Robbie, each of the Suicide Squad films is somehow worse than the other. Weird...

Opti_Frog

300 is absolutely his least bad movie. For his worst, i'd say it's a toss up between BVS and Sucker Punch, though i haven't seen The Owls of Ga'Hoole and Army of the Dead.

Opti_Frog

At least the second one was competently put together.

Opti_Frog

Richard, that's not what has happened though. The toxicity has always come from those that LIKES the grimdark DCEU movies and who are pissed they're not doing as well as Marvel at the BO. The cult of Zack, if you will.

Tarquin Pillay

the directors cut of bvs wasnt bad.....

Jordan Love

But it WOULD have to include the series Peacemaker as it's better than any of the movies except The Suicide Squad. Thank goodness for James Gunn.

Jordan Love

What a great cast in that movie. It's too bad the studio didn't trust them to actually make a Birds of Prey movie and instead forced them to make a Harley Quinn movie. Either coulda been great on its own but once again in the pursuit of money over art they gave us a mediocre turducken of a movie. At least it was better than the 1st Suicide Squad movie.

Luca Tosti

Yeah got the same reaction from me! Look at Nat bringing people together ahahah Probably not related tho, I'm half Italian half French and I've always lived in Italy, it's not terribly uncommon here (at least four more in my town, that I know of, and one of them is also called Luca). But hey at least we got to say hello!

Richard Maurer

I like his Dawn of the Dead remake too. And this is coming from a huge fan of Romero's original DotD.

Dante

I genuinely think you are the first person on the internet that I’ve ever seen say the Snyder Cut is somehow worse than the original lol

Marty McGee

Snyder Cut is definitely way way too long. The scenes went on way too long. Individual shots went on way too long. Almost excruciatingly so at times. A lot of material was just extraneous filler. The coda is unnecessary now that they've apparently moved on from Snyder's overall vision. Still think it was a better version of the story than the Joss Whedon cut though.

Opti_Frog

The director's cut is actually worse.

Opti_Frog

Also a big fan of the whole Romero Dead trilogy, actually, but Snyder's DotD didn't do much for me. It's hard to get me on board with running zombies. Unless it's Return of the Living Dead 😄

Hixi

agreed, it adds cuts of extra footage that surprisingly makes it a lot better, other than "that scene"

Hixi

I understand why people might dislike it but its still better than the original version. If the Snyder cut was somehow movie length it would be even better

Richard Maurer

@Opti_Frog - I see now. Well, like I said not that big of a DC fan, and haven't really looked too closely at the whole DC mess. The Idea that a sizeable group of people could actually think the DCEU movies are that great never really occurred to me.

Kimberlyn Harris

Please post episode 8 of stranger things today!!! 😭😭😭 as a surprise 🥰

SilverWolf

They need an editor's cut of the Snyder Cut :P

Philip Davetas

MAN OF STEEL is a bit of a toil. 2 and a half hours of not much happening. And in the end, both Zod and Supe murder a lot of people and don't even care that they did. At this point in the DCEU, you can just pop in anywhere to be perfectly honest, because they mess with their own timelines. That's why THE FLASH is supposed to "fix" this broken up nonsensical continuity. If you wanna watch BLACK ADAM, do it. MAN OF STEEL? Do it. It really doesn't matter.

Zachary Gaudreau

You probably should delete or heavily edit the comment because of how much it spoils whats going on in the movie...

Philip Davetas

No. It doesn't spoil a damn thing. That's like saying, "Happily ever after!"

PureGonzo

Wow, you really are a special kind of asshole, aren’t you? Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but to write spoilers about a film she’ll likely end up watching? Check yourself.

Philip Davetas

What spoiler are you even talking about? That's like saying, "Hey, the movie ends. Spoiler alert." You people with your spoiler alerts are so full of pretentious shit, it's incredible.

Martin7777

"And in the end, both Zod and Supe murder a lot of people and don't even care that they did." Are you serious? Delete this and stop arguing.

Philip Davetas

Oh. So we're going there? Okay. If it's in the trailer and TV spots it's not a spoiler. What you're talking about is a neccessary sequence essential to all super hero movies. Remember that time when Batman and the Joker got into a mad tickle fight? Or that time when Wolverine and Sabortooth got into a wicked cotton candy battle? Or that one time when Green Lantern and Sinestro were holding hands and sharing churros and a milkshake? Oh, that doesn't happen in these kinds of movies. My bad. Let's also chalk up the fact that this movie has been in the zeitgeist for 12+ years. It's spoil-proof at this point. And try this on for size. It might fit. If you truly believe way deep in your bowels that sequence was a spoiler then you probably shouldn't have copy and pasted that because that information is out there twice. So, by your own logic you would have to delete your own comment? In the end, I think people are just too quick to play their spoiler cards.

Rich House

Could not find a trailer that included that information. The fact it's on a poll to watch the movie negates the old release argument. If you delete your comments the replies are deleted also, zero harm in pointing out your idiocy by repeating the spoiler. If it ends just like every other superhero movie just say that, if it was interesting enough information for you to comment on it then by definition you should consider it a spoiler but you have some sort of cognitive disconnect on that.

Martin7777

Just to reiterate, telling someone what happens AT THE END of a movie between the protagonist and antagonist is almost always a spoiler. "If it's in the trailer and TV spots it's not a spoiler." Wrong. Trailers sometimes have spoilers, and Nat hasn't seen the trailer. "What you're talking about is a neccessary sequence essential to all super hero movies." No it isn't. Not all movies have the protagonist kill the antagonist. "Let's also chalk up the fact that this movie has been in the zeitgeist for 12+ years." Doesn't matter, Natalie hasn't seen it. I disagree that this movie was in the zeitgeist for even 5 years, but that's beside the point. Natalie hasn't seen it. "If you truly believe way deep in your bowels that sequence was a spoiler then you probably shouldn't have copy and pasted that because that information is out there twice." Unlike you, my beliefs come from my brain not my bowels. Child comments are hidden by default. I can't spoil what you have already spoiled, and you know this. You are being obtuse and argumentative. "In the end, I think people are just too quick to play their spoiler cards." I understand your opinion, but if you look at the likes on the comments here, you'll see that people generally disagree with you. Wouldn't the kind thing be to act on the side of caution and try to avoid spoiling movies for people?

I have rarely read so much bullshit in one paragraph..

DCEU does not exist, so it's ok there is a trilogy (MoS/BvS/ ZS Justice League) the rest can be seen if you wish and if you really like these Superheroes, but there is not really an extended universe

Hugo deroo

it's probably one of the best superhero movies of all time but ok...

There is no trailer nor TV spot that includes those details. You're just spoiling because you don't like the movie and really like attention. Don't ruin other peoples experiences like a narcissist.

Haven't seen Man of Steel. Black Adam was... tedious.

Seeing what's happening at DC, maybe keep the DCEU to a minimun. Cavill, Gadot, Affleck, Miller, Momoa out as their current character. After MoS, WW, Aquaman and the Suicide Squad maybe Snyder cut but no more then that.

Vince Ledezma

I'm so happy everyone chose to watch man of steel Henry Cavill will be back as Superman he's been kicked before

Jimathai

skip all of them. if you HAVE to watch one... watch the first Wonder Woman.
