Damon Smith

Crazy Werewolf by Night is what brought me here. loved your whole insight.

Navjot Singh

This is a nice surprise. Thank you. :D

Darryl Low

Oh my goodness Nattie G. You are too good to us 🤗💛 This was a fun little special, and I had a laugh along with you Nat. Thanks for another cool video today 😊

simon.shoots

oh no.. maybe check reviews this was so bad, like little kids having conversations with each other bad xD

Sam Kimpton

Aw, an exclusive? Awesome surprise!

Danishprince

First time I've seen anyone dislike it. I have heard nothing but positive comments about this so far

Danishprince

Woo awesome surprise! I have been holding out on watching this in the hopes you would get to it :D

Joshua Kon

I always love a good time with the guardians!!! I hope any arcane fans can be nice in comments. Natalie is on a limited schedule, and she is at a good spot where the reactions can be delayed a week or so. Plus she's probably watched it and a ton of other things for december so no need to get mad <3 only love

Diiirk706

Meh; shoulda been Things Finalé, but shwhatevs......

Michael G. Munz

FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS WATCH THE STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL.

Dante

The ST finale is literally 2 hours longer than this. Believe it or not Nat doesn’t just have all the time in the world to watch multiple movies worth of content every week

Josh W

The reviews: -92% Rotten Tomatoes -7.1/10 IMDb -82 Metacritic

Maya

i think cosmo is played by a real dog

Joe Blankenship

The trailer for volume 3 is out too. Looks pretty good.

djKENTO

Groot is bigger so they can have some one play him at Disney parks.

Rich House

I get it's meant well, but the pre-emptive call out doesn't feel great. I think the Arcane fans recognise Nat has given it more chances to get selected on a poll than most shows and are just happy to see her react to it at any pace. Don't think I've seen any comments that would suggest there was going to be a big issue with this.

Ryan

I think you’re worrying about the wrong fanbase here, since she started Arcane the fans have been nothing but positive and by runtime have received the least amount of content in the last two weeks.

Joshua Kon

I agree. I know stranger thing fanbase will have a couple that complain but the arcane fanbase has been top notch. Just hate seeing patreon comment sectioned filled with, "where is my show" comments

Rich

I respectfully disagree. It was a ton of fun

SilverWolf

Haha, as an Arcane fan, I appreciate the recognition that we've been alright ever since that troll. I hated how much it made everyone on patreon think we were all like that 😅 I'm excited to watch this with Nat, I figured we weren't getting anything til Wednesday and I haven't watched it yet!

Randee Carreno

Happy Tuesday, Natalie! 😊 This is a wonderful surprise! I loved the animation that was used in the beginning with Yondu, young Peter, and Kraglin and then again towards the end. Kevin Bacon playing himself in this was fantastic. It really didn't surprise me much when Mantis mentioned that she's Peter's sister. Because Ego was trying to create the perfect person with his Celestial gene. And was with Mantis' mother. And he most likely kept Mantis because of her power. I love the song that Kevin Bacon sang with the group Old 97's. Now I'm really curious about how Nebula got Bucky's arm for Rocket. LOL! I love that moment at the end when Peter told Mantis that finding out the she was his sister was the best Christmas present. Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

Rich House

It's understandable, and I know you wrote a similar comment on the Arcane episode 3 reaction. But I would say in that comment you didn't call out a specific fanbase, would have been nice to see the same wording where you are just advocating for Marvel fans to not have a comment section on their show filled with schedule complaints.

Thomas Yanez

Wow, first time for me to hear this, too. It might have had some awkward moments with the Mantis/Drax dialogue, but it was still pretty charming.

djKENTO

In Infinity War there’s a moment where Rocket and Bucky meet and he tries to buy his arm and it ends with Rocket saying “oh I’m getting that arm”. It’s like a 4 year old call back hahaha

The Dingo

I don't think they spent that much on this; it was filmed when they filed Guardians of the Galaxy vol 3

Michael G. Munz

I did a reaction for it on YouTube and it nearly killed me :D

Mastervodo

Deepfake. CGI is so crazy now.

Mastervodo

I think we Arcane fans have been much more respectful to Natalie than any other "fanbase" lately. I am a Marvel/Arcane/StarWars/Movies/Stranger Things/Anything Natalie watches fan. And I wish everyone here would realize that just because we pay $5 to watch her watch things, doesn't mean we have any right to complain when we "don't get our way". It's just selfish. She can't please everyone, but she does try to please as many as she can. Plus, she has a life! It's really self-centered to complain because the show YOU may like isn't being aired on the days that are most convenient to YOU. Just silly.

Dante

Unironically the Stranger Things fanbase has had more trolls and toxicity in the Patreon comments than Arcane has

bofc

Rabbid Dawg

Here also as an Arcane fan and for the positivity. The OP comment was presumptuous and a little strange since most if not all Arcane fans' comments have been patient and kind on Patreon. I for one am glad for the diverse content and I'm looking forward to any uploads on this channel. It does suck when someone wants to be shitty, but let's not make that the expectation everywhere, drown out the few bad apples with words of encouragement or excitement about the content instead. It's better for our personal mindsets to ignore the folks that want to troll anyway.

jamie jones

Wow simon, you’re dumb. This was universally acclaimed by fans and critics.

Joshua Kon

I mean i dont want to sound mean but there literally was just a comment saying go back to arcane. I was simply hoping to get ahead of this/hope to stopped those types of posts for a fanbase labelled as toxic from the start.

jamie jones

Its both, there’s a real dog and cgi

Rabbid Dawg

lmao you right. blegh. I had too much faith in the commenters here. thanks for your reply tho

George Baxter

The Werewolf by Night reaction has 65K views but Nat says it 'performed poorly for the channel on YouTube' ??

Jason Gillman

Not gonna lie was excited for more Arcane. I didn’t enjoy this special. Hopefully others do enjoy it.

Rich House

The guy hasn't written any comment in the Arcane poll, nor on any of the 3 episodes. Now I have to sit over here with my tin foil hat on wondering why someone would make that their first comment

Mastervodo

I think the best part of the special (for me) was when Rocket got Bucky's Arm. I hope there is an Easter Egg in the G3 movie where it's like, hung as a trophy in the ship or something. Also - the animation reminds me of Heavy Metal. Anyone else?

Rich House

I'm not sure if I missed something but I was confused by the arm, did Bucky lose it at some point and I don't remember? Or they literally stole his arm and it's just a joke?

Tay Schumaker

If you look at her other recent uploads, they're all doing double that. I don't watch anything on her youtube channel, just on here. And I understand how only doing things that get views can seem a little cynical, but this is a job for her. I don't envy content creators that do reactions/watch alongs. Just going in to their comments, it seems like a minefield.

George Baxter

safe to assume he has at least 1 backup. But a joke can be just a joke. Its a Christmas special after all

Rich House

Yeah it's inline with abducting Kevin Bacon, but since the arm is actually meaningful within the MCU I wasn't sure if I had just missed something

George Baxter

Nat is a very successful reactor but I am surprised that over 100K is the expectation for a reaction video. I would imagine the comments for reaction videos aren't all that critical of the reactors themselves. After all Nat chooses to do popular films not controversial art pieces. Of course it will get vitriolic when she starts DC...

Ben Wheeler

Excuse me while I go put that song from the beginning in my Christmas playlist

Myles Away

Some really precious moments in this but I cannot stand the music. Super cheese soft rock stuff. Big meh.

Brian Jones

Regarding your concern for how much they spent I wouldn't worry too much, they are still in postproduction for Guardians 3, so I have no doubt the vast majority of the sets were repurposed for this.

Brian Jones

Not sure where you heard that, I've seen nothing but glowing reviews for it. Hell, I liked it quite a bit and I'm someone who has pretty much despised all of phase 4.

Hugo deroo

you know the feelings of people who wait for strange things haha

Chris H

From what I understand League of Legend fans are toxic anyways.

ADK2077

This special was so meh. I liked the Guardians movies, but wasn't impressed by this one at all. I only enjoyed my time because I was drinking with some friends during it

jamie jones

The guardians special would clearly do better numbers than werewolf by night as its a popular, established and loved franchise and werewolf by night was mostly unknown characters to the average person.

Ian

Such fun seeing Kevin bacon playing himself 🙂 that was fun and you know it's Christmas time when you hear the fairytale of New York 🥳

Nathaniel Castle

I’d be happy with regular shorts of Drax and Mantis, the ultimate Chaotic Neutral team!

Joshua Kon

Youtube is a weird place. Often times if you have 1-2 videos that get way below your average view amount the algorythm will stop recommending your channel until it gets back to where it was. So between that and just a patreon exclusive bonus I get why its not getting a youtube reaction

Boomcity

Ohh exclusive!!! I like!! 😁 Also I never knew The Smashing Pumpkins put out a Christmas song in 1997. It's 🔥

xander

yep, it was the same set, so barely any extra money was spent. the only thing added to the set were the christmas decorations which wouldn't have cost much, and ofc kevin bacon's house

xander

i hope marvel keeps doing specials, they're just fun extra content to put out, nothing serious

Richard Maurer

At first I was sort of surprised she didn't remember that scene then I realized she'd probably only saw it once, where I've seen it 15 - 20 times.

Richard Maurer

@ George - "I would imagine the comments for reaction videos aren't all that critical of the reactors themselves". Sorry George but you couldn't be more wrong. YT commenters will savage any reactor who says anything slightly critical or even just wrong about their favorite properties.

Nicholas Sulikowski

I read that the animation style was done via rotoscoping actors, in a style much like Ralph Bakshi animation. Think 70s The Lord of the Rings.

Richard Maurer

It;s a call-back to Infinity War where Rocket basically promised to get Bucky's arm. Personally, I hope the next time Bucky makes an appearance he has an obviously different arm, I don't even care if they reference it.

Nicholas Sulikowski

I noticed that the movie Kevin Bacon is watching is Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, another "classic" holiday film. That film and The Star Wars Holiday Special have been riffed mercilessly by Mystery Science Theater 3000 and RiffTrax respectively. (Though while Martians is hilariously bad and fun, the SW Holiday Special is....pain. Beware....)

Seth Workman

A lot of this special was supposed to be funny. I guess you didn’t get some parts of it but that’s okay.

Misty Crom

So... A group of aliens kidnap an actor thinking they're the real hero they played in the hopes they'll save the day... and then the actor, after a moment of crisis on learning the truth goes back and does save the day? Is Guardians Of the Galaxy in the same universe as Galaxy Quest?

Trish Murphy

Hi Natalie. Thanks for the Patreon exclusive. I’ll watch this every year. It was cute and it moved a couple story lines along a wee bit. I highly recommend Spirited on Appletv+. It’s Ryan Reynolds’s & Will Farrel It’s about, sort of about The Christmas Carol but it’s a musical. Definite comedy and loads of fun. I think it’s only on Apple. Peace & take care ✌️

Robert Miller

Too bad you are wrong Simon. Critics LIKED this special.

Rey

I love that kevin bacon is just kevin bacon in the mcu

Robert Miller

Correct, this is the 2nd special Marvel has done. No others have been announced as of yet. Angry Mantis is best Mantis haha. This Groot is nicknamed "Swole Groot" by James Gunn. Technically he is the son of the first Groot we saw. At this point in his late teens=early 20s. Reasons why he has a different build than his dad. Yes, the set and the ship are also used for GOTG3.

Baron

Thanks for the Holiday special!

Mastervodo

This makes sense too. Both films used that technique.

Danishprince

65k views for one of her videos is considered a pretty poor performance - Even some trailer reactions has gotten more views than that :)

ccc

Potential spoiler? I think the reason Groot is swoll because he has been absorbing enegry of a dead celestial knowhere, and two live celestials, Mantis and Quinn

Alan Felicia

Thank You, Nat, for this Reaction video (kinda figured you would since ur a big fan of GOTG LOL!) Hope you saw the teaser trailer for GOTG3 that was just released recently as well! Happy Holidays!

Tiger Chu

I want Drax's sweater

Richard Maurer

The SWHS is the cringiest thing I've ever seen. Should definitely watch it,

Charles Hines

It's a wonderful life is simply mandatory viewing whether you like it or not! :)

UngawdlyJish

I personally really enjoyed this. I want more in-between and downtime stories from Marvel. Doesn't always have to be about fighting some big bad guy.

Matthew King

Kevin Bacon was in the first Friday the 13th. I do believe you watched that already for the channel

William R Coughlan

Was a lot of fun — thanks for doing this. Oh, and to jump onto what others have said, yes, this was shot while they were making GOTG3, so they didn't have to build all new sets. (And Nebula giving Rocket Bucky's arm was a callback to Rocket's comment from Avengers: Infinity War, when Rocket said, "Oh, yeah. I'm gonna get that arm." Continuing his obsession with stealing prosthetics.)

Keith Jacobsen

IIRC When Rocket first meets Bucky in Avengers Infinity War, he asks him "how much for the gun?". Bucky says "Not for sale." and Rocket replies "How much for the arm?" and Bucky just gives him a look. Rocket then says "Oh, I'll get that arm..." and he does! Eventually. Honestly, it's a pretty good call back joke, they're paying attention.

JohnnyTankTop

Fantastic connection. Never Give Up, Never Surrender!

Logan Kerlee

I really enjoyed this! A very fun holiday movie. :)

Unsecret Identity

Nebula getting Bucky's arm for Rocket is a great callback that raises so many questions. Wonder if it will just be a throwaway joke or if they'll actually acknowledge this later.
