It's time for some NOSTALGIAAA!! Woo!

Let's celebrate this 30th anniversary together and watch one of the best dinosaur movies of all time. Surprisingly, I didn't really remember much about the first half of this movie haha. So happy to rewatch it all with you!

I watched this on Amazon Prime for all of those who are curious. Thank you so much for your support here on Patreon! Until the next one, take care and stay golden.

Let's Goooooooo! This movie shaped my childhood since seeing it in theaters when I was 9 years old. I really hope down the line Nat would consider watching the rest of the franchise. 🦖🦕

Darryl Low

Yay! It's Fossil Feature Friday Nat. Been looking forward to your reaction all week, and can't wait to watch along with you 😊 That was so much fun to watch Nattie. So many great scenes, and watching you rediscover them again was just great. I loved you stressing out over the fence power coming back on, telling her to delay it 😂 The Seinfeld character you were looking for was Newman, not Norman, but hey, you were close he he. Still amazing to think there are just 6 minutes of cgi dinosaurs in this movie, but they pretty much changed the film industry forever. John Williams score for this movie is the only one of his 29 for Spielberg that the director didn't attend the recording sessions for as he was away filming Schindler's List at the time. Certainly one of his best themes and scores. Thanks a million for watching this movie on your channel Nat. It was a brilliant reaction. Definitely need to watch Jurassic Park 3 as well, as you're the only other person I know that loves that movie too 😀 It is a cool movie with lots of great moments too, especially the pterodactyls! Thanks for your awesome work this week. Enjoy your travels this weekend Nat 💛

James

Very excited for this, top 3 on my favorite movies of all time. Scared the shh out of me as a kid. What a film.

CHRISXGAMESALOT

Here's an idea what if we do nostalgia movie every month nothing wrong with reacting to the classics. Especially the ones you haven't watched in awhile.

Ian

Happy feature Friday nat sadly can't watch anything because fell at work onto the end of a scaffold pole which saved me from falling to the concrete floor but hanging there screaming for help has left me in bad shape I hurt everywhere and it's hard to breath so sitting watching is a no go but have an amazing weekend and and I will hopefully watch sooner rather that later

Mastervodo

Nattie is Jurassic Park years old!

Kristine Friling

Omg talk about making me feel old!!! I was 15 almost 16 when this movie came out. I had been super obsessed with the book so this was the most anticipated movie of my life. I had read the book 5 times before it came out and read it first before I even knew there would be a movie. This movie really does pass the test of time!

Mastervodo

Snack today is homemade Salted Caramel Custard!

Adam Doyle

My FAVORITE MOVIE! Happy 30th Anniversary to the OG JP!

Danishprince

Hecking excited for this! <3

Ben Wheeler

Ahhh some of John Williams best work

Baggie Mark

Da da daa da da, da da daa da da...I'm sooo looking forward to a trip down memory lane.. thanks for doing this one Nat 🦖🦖 🧡

Peter Moe

The channel isn’t that old so I assume “happy birthday!” ?

Patrick Egan

YOU feel old? I had just graduated high school when this movie came out! :) And don't apologize for loving Jurassic Park III, I think it's an underrated entry in the franchise. Yes, they pretty much abandon the science/philosophy aspects in favor of a straight-up action adventure, but for what it is I think it's a lot of fun.

Danishprince

It's Jurrasic Parks 30th anniversary ;)

Alan Felicia

You're a kid! I was a Soph in College LOL! GD, I'm Old!

Ben Wheeler

The scene in Toy Story 2 where Rex chases the car after falling out inside the toy store was a spoof off the T-Rex chasing the Jeep

Alan Felicia

Great Choice! Fun Fact: Harrison Ford & William Hurt were offered & turn down the role of Alan Grant, also 30 years later, Harrison Ford is rumored to be replacing William Hurt (RIP) in upcoming Marvel movies "Thunderbolts" & "Captain America: Brave New World"

ccc

Have you seen/ reviewed Rango, its an animated movie like Shrek and how to train your dragon.

Mastervodo

Hey Nat - when Dennis Nedry told John Hammond, "Thanks Dad." He was being sarcastic. Like, saying, "Thanks for the life lesson as if you were my father" or "You sound like my parental unit that I ignored as a youth.". He is not John's son. Loved the reaction! Especially the jump scare when turning the power back on!

djKENTO

The Richard Kiley joke is so funny. David Attenborough who plays Hammond is the brother of environmentalist and documentarian Richard Attenborough. Rather than getting his brother, the most famous voice in nature doc history, he goes with Richard Kiley, who is Attenborough’s biggest rival and says “spared no expense”. Great little jab at his brother.

THE LORE!!!

If anyone doesn't want to rent it or doesn't own it, it's also on Peacock in the US if you have a plan. And if you don't, it's like $5

Natalie Gold

OMG FOSSIL FRIDAY!! I wish I had thought of that haha

simon.shoots

what the heck, not for free on Amazon?? 'theyre just fingering it be careful' lmao fun detail just noticed - you can clearly see the boat dock on the EAST side of the island logo haha

Natalie Gold

oh my goodness! I can't believe you're even here commenting. Take care of yourself and hope you have a speedy recovery!

Natalie Gold

Haha some might say I was born in the Jurassic period...

Baggie Mark

I have just realised that I got home from work and threw some casual clothes on to take my mom for her appointment at the hospital, then came home and watched Jurassic Park with Nat before I realised I was wearing a Jurassic Park t-shirt... It was meant to be....

Natalie Gold

omg I took that so literally haha 😂 I thought nepotism was the only reason we were keeping this asshole employed

Rime Pendragon

It's so funny how Natalie thought Nedry was Hammonds' son :-)

Justin M York

Honestly dont like JP3...thought it was kind of cheesy. It had some good moments. I hated the "raptor" talking head in the airplane. This one and Lost World are my favorites. Would love to see a rewatch of Lost World...

Danishprince

Nah just the low salary :D "spared no expenses" except on the IT guy

Logan Kerlee

lol, I totally was as well. I wasn't all crazy about animals but I was huge on dinosaurs and history! I remember doing loads and loads of reports on dinosaurs and writing a lot papers, as well. THIS IS THE BEST JURASSIC PARK! I watched this at the drive in when it was new and HOLY FUCK it was thrilling! I just turned 35 the other day (birthday was on the third)! (I'm totally cool with you watching things you've seen as long as it's something that I dig on and this is one that I love! So it's all good! :D) This movie was so rad when I first watched this as a kid! This scene was INTENSE!! The "SHOOT HER, SHOOT HER!!" bit was so intense! I remember all of this! Every kid that watched this wanted to become a paleontologist! I know that I did. :) Oh I LOVE WHAT HE DOES TO THIS CHUNKY KID! I'm all for him freaking that little brat out! hahaahaha, babies 100% smell! Barbosal on pie.. yuck! xD lmao, I remember all of this! This movie brings back so many positive memoriees! :D Big thanks Natalie for choosing this one! Ah, this is so much fun. THIS WAS MIND BLOWING BACK AT THE DRIVE IN THEATER!! Did that dude say "auto erotica?" xD hahahaha I'm surprised you didn't catch that voice! Sam Jackson! Love that line! "Hold onto your butts!" I've straight abandoned responding to the reaction. I'm just enjoying the movie, now! lmao, Ned isn't his son! xD He's just some dude that works at the park. You really should read the book Natalie! lol, for one it's AWESOME! Two, you'll appreciate some of the characters a lot more. There's nothing wrong with preferring the movie but it's good to know where this all came from, ya know? Then again - that's how I feel about comics and all that. xD I'm not too sure about the third. I know the that the 2nd was garbage. The first is still for sure my fave! :) https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E6w8EqVX0AYgWaX?format=jpg&name=small xD Gross!

TokyoLopez

i just watched this last night omg 😆

Keith Jacobsen

(I read this a few years ago so I can't take credit) The seatbelt bit on the helicopter is foreshadowing. Two female ends won't work? Grant improvises and ties them together, "Life finds a way."

Joel

if you want to mix both Jurassic park and ted lasso, you can search Nick Mohammed aka Nate sing his own lyrics to the theme of Jurassic park. Just quintessential British humour 😂😂

MertzRocks

I wonder how many of us were yelling, "He's NOT his SON!!" lol

Megatto

Nat if you haven't seen it yet, you should totally watch Prehistoric Planet. It's kinda the spiritual successor to Walking With Dinosaurs. Also, I hope we can watch the other Jurassic Park movies. The Lost World: Jurassic Park is my favorite of the trilogy

MertzRocks

All y'all are kids! lol... I was going on 29 and my son was going on 3 ! Now someone born in the 50s will come on and call ME a kid! lol

LJ Mickey

I'm honestly asking: Who doesn't love dinosaurs?😁 I honestly do like the second film of the first trilogy. Third one I have seen once and don't remember that much from it. The Chris Pratt dinosaur movies are okay entertainment but not as great as the first two films.

Trevor S Bright

John isn't Dennis' dad. It was just sarcasm on Dennis's part for how lecturely John was being.

Stropheum

you read too much into the "thanks, dad" comment from nedry. He was just sarcastically thanking hammond for lecturing him

Jenny Tolls

The third movie finally has a giant dinosaur vs giant dinosaur moment that the other two were missing. It was such a cool moment, especially back then!

Shen V

The second one, Lost World, is my favourite one. No, really. Obviously, I have nothing bad to say about this one, and it's needed to introduce the whole thing, but I always liked Lost World from the get-go. The whole script is so much fun and the actors are having fun with it. I like Goldblum in it more than I do Neill in this one, and Moore more than Dern. And the whole "Godzilla" thing for the finale? Well, duh. EVERYBODY thought about that as soon as they got done watching the first one, and then they get mad that they do it. This movie even hints at it with the lysine contingency, "if they ever get off the island". Anyway, I just had to say something, because nobody else ever has anything nice to say about Lost World. This was great. For as long as I hadn't seen this movie, I was amazed that I still remembered EVERYTHING. I watched this (and 2, back to back) SO MUCH as a teenager/early 20's. Do 2 and 3, Nat, because I've seen 3 maybe three or four times. Couldn't tell you a thing that happens in it, really. Well, some, but memory of it is very blurry and my opinion was never very high. And as apologetic as I can be about Lost World, the Jurassic Worldses are pretty bad lmao.

blkmage

Hm, talks about being old because she was born near the time this came out yet my ass walked out the theater and placed a bet on next nights game the opening weekend... oof

Trevor S Bright

I can't believe how much you didn't like Hammond. I see his arrogance as more naivety. In the original novel, Hammond actually is a greedy bastard who didn't give a shit about his grandkids. A lot of characters were different actually. Donald Gennaro, the "blood-sucking lawyer" was actually a decent guy who helped the group since being involved in the park meant he knew the layout of the park. There actually was a juvenille T-Rex in the novel too along with the adult "Rexy". The Triceratops sub-plot actually turned out that it was eating the lilac plants but it didn't show up in the dino-poop cuz the plant was stored in the gizzards I think, cuz Dinosaurs be birds. If I remember correctly, I think the real life sizes of Velociraptor & Dilophosaur were switched.....also the T-Rex vision based on movement was changed from the novel. In it, the vision was a genetic side effect of the cloning present in ALL the Dinosaurs, not just the T-Rex.

john Alexander

This was a really fun watch. Can't believe you like the 3rd movie but then again I really like the 2nd movie and I know a lot of people hated that one so I guess I can't judge lol. I hope you go ahead and watch the next 2 or even all the Jurassic Parks.

Javi

Same Natalie, same. This movie came out 30 years ago. 30! Almost there.

David Bourgeois

I remember watching that movie in theatre when it got out, today seeing dinosaur and all kind of creature in movie is common, but seeing the first dinosaur was awesome even today the special effects look very good.

Wex

I’m a couple years older and also had read the book. As excellent as the movie was, it was my first time being upset at a movie being different from the book, and in major ways- Ian Malcolm and Hammond both died, Dr. Grant loved kids, and Hammond’s main motivation was money, not bringing any sort of real wonder to the world. But I’ll tell you, the movie was so good those issues could barely register. I remember gripping the arm rests in the theater throughout the movie and being exhausted by the end of it.

archie castillo

Fellow dinosaur nerd!!! :) don't worry about the feeling old bit. it is what it is :) 43 here but i've decided to feel 23 (at least in my mind). ALSO - did you recognize Jake Gyllenhaal at the start??? the plucky kid at the dig site :) (W/c apparently is just an urban legend lol) I personally like this one, would skip 2 and 3, and jump to jurassic world. I like that reboot, especially the whole realization of Hammond's original idea of a family theme park. didn't much care for the ones that followed either.

Kristine Friling

Oh I agree that I was puzzled by some of those changes until I fully realized that they casted Santa Claus as Hammond. I love the actor they did cast, but I think they were going for what audiences would more enjoy. Which was a grandfather realizing his grandkids were in danger which changed his views. Same reason they changed the ages of the kids. They already cast Joseph Mazello for the boy but didn't want to cast a girl younger for his little sister so they made her older because audiences wouldn't enjoy watching an even younger girl in serious peril. And back to not killing Hammond, this is why they could not follow the plot of the second book in the movie sequel because they took away the entire plot of the first half of the second book of searching for the island because Hammond told them where it was! Lol And all the best parts about the third movie are all the scenes they couldn't do from the first book, because of technical limitations in 1993. This was the first movie where I had to realize that movies were usually going to be much different than the books and the reasonings that made sense. Books will be better a majority of the time but sometimes seeing it on the big screen is worth those changes!! Sorry that was so long! I have always been passionate about this book and movie! Haha

Jesse LaMora

Hilarious how so many people take the "Thanks dad" line so literal now. Never saw it that way until newer generations can't sense the palpable and obvious sarcasm. 😂😂

Alan Felicia

Sorry dude, that's the Jake Gyllenhaal urban legend LOL! That chubby kid with Alan Grant at the beginning of the movie is Whit Hertford.

Prophet2272

I'm all for revisiting these nostalgia films from time to time.

REDR58

Yeah I've seen a number of reactors think the same thing, despite it being pretty clear that there is no relation between them.

REDR58

My biggest issue with JP2 is the dog being eaten ESPECIALLY when the kid sees the aftermath. Bah.

REDR58

Natalie, one more fun fact, the T-Rex in this movie is the same individual T-Rex that appears in all the JP and JW movies. It collects more and more scars as the films progress.

John

I got some taco bell and enjoyed an awesome Friday night with ya Nat! What a fun rewatch!

Jenny Tolls

Except for the third movie. That one is a green T-Rex and it gets killed. And there’s a similar looking T-Rex in the second Jurassic Park movie that is also a completely different one.

Maurice

Newman isn't Hammond's son. Love his sarcasm.

CheeseRepair

I'm very surprised at how against Hammond Nat is. As others have said, in the book he is much different. In the book he is more of the corporate stereotype who just wanted to make money. However, Spielberg really identified with the character as someone who wanted to bring joy and wonder to children, and so changed Hammond to the well meaning, grandfatherly, almost Santa Claus type figure in the film. The line where the lawyer wants the park to cater to only the wealthy and Hammond corrects him that the park should be affordable for all was, I imagine, put in for the audience to realize that this is a genuine dream of Hammond to astound and enrich the world rather than just a payday. Fun fact: apparently the original script had Goldblum's character run away from the T-Rex in fear like the lawyer, but Goldblum suggested they have him hold the flare so it would look more heroic.

archie castillo

ah really?? wow all this time i thought he was XD and all this time i hadn't bothered to check IMDB either haha! Thanks man

REDR58

You're absolutely right! And now that I look into it, the T-Rex in "The Lost World" is apparently a different animal, which makes sense as that movie is set on a different island, which I had forgot. But the original T-Rex does return for all the JW movies and the other female and male from TLW show up in JW: Dominion and all 3 encounter each other.

Jenny Tolls

That is correct! It was so cool to see all of them on one screen!

RabidMango

There’s still some of book Hammond in there. He has the famous quote: “Spared no expense.” However Nedry appears to be absolutely and singularly necessary to the operations of the park and Hammond will not get in another financial debate with him. Everything happened so Nedry could get a couple million dollars. Don’t get me wrong, Nedry sucks and got his, but Hammond could have paid him. Nedry made it clear no one else could do what he does… he’d love to see them try.

Nicholas Sulikowski

Natalie: Shut the $&%# up, Donald! Me; You're out of your element, Donnie! /The Big Lebowski

Nicholas Sulikowski

Yeah I got the impression that Nedry may have been overworked and underpaid. He talks about how the control center could be run by x number of people, but that number isn't there. It's a theme of Hammond to say "Spared no expense", but to have clearly cut corners everywhere. So I figure Nedry was overworked and underpaid. That doesn't excuse his betrayal, of course. But it is just another example of a problem that could have been avoided were Hammond not so corner cutting.

Annie519

I watched it on Peakcocktv, I believe they are all on there, including the Jurassic World ones as well.

Stephen Lewis

Natalie, I'm late to the party, but I remember this movie being my very first movie theater experience as a boy. I was wide eyed and slacked jaw. To this day I'm truly amazed of what they were able to pull off visually and that legendary film score...just incredible. I'll admit, I still get a little teary eyed with the big reveal when they see the dinosaurs for the first time. That scene, that brief moment in time, is truly amazing.

Mike Hell

My dad went to see this in theaters while my brothers and I saw Rookie of the Year. So that totally wasn't fair, right?

BryceIsRightJr

I too had an obsession of dinosaurs as a kid, so much in fact that my cumulative watch count of all 3 JP movies is easily in the 100s, with JP III being my favorite for most of my childhood as well, also during the circuit breaker scene when the raptor comes out of the pipes... I was NOT expecting Nat to scream, especially as loud as it was for me... gave me quite the JOLT. Lol

Jenny Tolls

Please react to Jurassic Park 3!! You already said it’s your favorite so might as well skip the second one 🤷🏻‍♂️

FatLittleButterfly

I can watch Jurassic park anytime anywhere. Hammond always saying "Spare no expense" but he seem to draw the line at IT. lol. I wonder how much Nedry was asking for, but he could have saved his park if he had paid him off.

Myles Away

lol I keep laughing every time you think Nedry is John Hammond's son. Nedry's dad line was just sarcasm :D

Myles Away

Please watch the third one. I'd love to see your opinion change in real time after watching this.

Troy

Until this moment I genuinely assumed he was his son. Granted, I didn't put a ton of thought into it, but... yeah. #TheMoreYouKnow

Greg S.

My dad took me to see this in the theater for my 9th birthday shortly after it released. It was quite the experience.

Daniel Simmons

I highly disagree on the third one being better. However, I do think it's one of three good ones in the franchise. I like the fact that it was kept as a simple monster movie. No convoluted plot, just dinosaurs hunting and killing people. 1. Jurassic Park 2. Jurassic World 3. Jurassic Park III. Now as for the other three, I consider them all complete crap. 4. The Lost World 5. Jurassic World: Dominion 6. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. If you thought Jurassic World was bad, it would very amusing to see your reaction to the other two as they are two of the dumbest, most ridiculous movies I've ever seen.

Austin

Hey Natalie love your reactions theres two recommendations you should check out if you loved the walking with dinosaurs Docuseries Primeval on hulu its from the same producers as walking with series a group of scientists discovers portals that are gateways to different times and prehistoric run through them into our world might make a great reaction series. Prehistoric Planet On Apple tv the best new dinosaur documentary with the best cgi
