Oh boy...it's that time of year again. Help me pick the first spooky flick to kick off Halloween season!

Comments

Jason Gillman

As much as I want A Quiet Place 2, I gotta go for Halloween. The best slasher movie ever made, and a genuine classic.

Lobos625

It follows would be awesome! One of my favorite horror movies. Another good one hopefully for a later poll is The Autopsy of a Jane Doe

Tony Mandler

Enjoy Natmares I'm out, I do not enjoy horror movies. See in November when regular programming resumes.

Diiirk706

it follows is traaaaaaaash

Josh W

Any of the top 3 would be great watches. Had to go with 'It Follows' though.

Gabriel L.

Never seen Halloween. The Fly is a genuine masterpiece but way too horrifying and disgusting for me personally. I can recognize its brilliance while never wanting to see it again. A Quiet Place 2 was disappointing compared to the first IMHO, but eh, it is fine. That leaves It Follows, which was an interesting concept executed fairly well.

Chloe Root

It follows is so good!

Arry

Natmares came back, it just passed, time flies so Fast

JD Shick

Halloween is definitely a classic worth checking out. Some good picks all around though! Also hoping you can check out Haunting of Bly Manor this year as well! It's so good!

Taylor Oien

Do we know which Halloween? Assuming it’s the OG??

Mike Hell

hell yes let's finally do Halloween!

Danishprince

Natmares 3!! Best time of the year 😍

Boomcity

🤞I hope we see a return of Ready or Not to the polls. 🤞

Mike Hell

yes that or Midnight Mass would be excellent!

Troy

I gotta go with A Quiet Place Part 2. Otherwise you can't go wrong with either one of these.

Game Wizard001

I picked Halloween, it's the classic slasher movie that kinda started it all.

Abraham

Let’s watch some less talked about films. The fly! Really good

Tim Brown

"Talk to Me" would be a good one for you to watch too - it just came out on VOD!

Lee Gannon

Which Halloween? Which The Fly?

Darryl Low

Yay Natmares return. Going to go for The Fly. There's a real buzz about that movie 🕸 You have to do Friday the 13th Nat, as this year it's actually Friday the 13th during Natmares 😄

Alan Felicia

There's only one LOL! The 70s OG with young Jamie Lee Curtis! No disrespect to what Danny McBride & Green came up with in their 2018 version.

Śéáń

It Follows is a great horror. Love the aesthetic they went with in that film.

Leisurous

You should check out the conjuring!

Taylor Oien

Isn’t there also a Rob Zombie one from like the mid 2000’s?

Christian Rennie

I got your back, It Follows is more your speed. The rest are just jump scares and grotesqueries. Oh, wait I they will get you jumping out of your seat so.... more content ;)

Alan Felicia

Honestly, QP2 wasn't as scary as original. But then again, Halloween is the only legit scary movie in this group! BTW, we're talkin' The Fly w/ Jeff Goldblum, right? LOL!

Danishprince

Always dissapointing to see Halloween lose these polls every year but I have yet to watch QP2 so still good!

Mastervodo

I'm hoping Halloween or The Fly. I am also hoping Evil Dead: Rise (A movie I have been schlepping for all year) gets on the next poll! It would be great for Nat! This year's Hereditary!

FogdogKdog

Still waiting for Nope to make it into a poll soon. Haven't seen any of these flicks so I'll be patient lol

CJ

You should do Fear Street trilogy

Sour Flesh

The 1986 version of The Fly from David Cronenberg has to get in there at some point. As much as everyone praises The Thing for it's incredible, 1980s practical effects, The Fly is the GOAT. For the story, the visuals, the acting, the score, it's probably my favorite horror film ever. The original Halloween is a classic. It Follows was fantastic in the theater. A Quiet Place 2 is a movie... that exists. It's fine, I guess, but I do not understand how in this lineup it has the lead.

adrianR31

omg MANDY. Even if you don't stream it online WATCH MANDY.

Ben Wheeler

How can people celebrate Halloween…without watching Halloween? It Follows is my runner-up. If I’m not mistaken, the score is an homage to Halloween’s. Definitely gives me the same unsettled feeling.

Daniel McGuinness

All of these movies are better than a Quiet Place 2 so I’m surprised that’s in second place tbh, the first one was GREAT but the second just doesn’t hold any water Halloween all the way! The classic that changed the game 😭 timeless classic, and my personal favourite movie ever

Eric Janssen

If it’s THE ‘78 Halloween and for some earthly reason she hasn’t seen it yet, she has no right to go on to cheap 10’s-20’s artsy-pants ones. Let’s start at the beginning, back when horror directors had to fill drive-ins, not cineplexes.

eemersonm

Can we do a spooky show again for Natmares season?

BettleBug

I’m begging for Halloween

WWW

Haunting of Bly Manor! Midnight Mass!

Sean

Tis the season to be screamin' / Fa la la la la la la la Is there any time of the year more joyous than Natmares?

KnittingHaven

I vote for Halloween, and then the original Friday the 13th, then Nat will be mostly ready to start the Scream movies :)

Eric Miller

Halloween gets my vote. Here's hoping we also get to pick a horror game for the month as well! *cough* Until Dawn *cough* *nudge* *suggest*

Skizane

Everyone not voting for The Fly, you are all missing a wonderful opportunity to see Natalie so grossed out that she might actually throw up on camera.

Eric Janssen

Why not just get her to throw up anyway, as a Patreon exclusive? 🤮🤨

JD Shick

Yeah also a great choice! I'm looking forward to The Fall of the House of Usher in October as well

Ashley

Nope would be a great watch!

Grace Severi

you should watch scream (1996) please i think you would love it

Brent giesbrecht

Honestly I'm good with all these movies. On that note I really hope she reacts to a truly scary movie like Hereditary from last year.

Kelvin

Gotta be the Fly. on the opposite end of things, she should watch Hausu (1977)

Ben Wheeler

Not worth grossing myself out in the process

Jacob King

Imagine trying to put together a YouTube edit for Mandy hahahaha

David

The People Under the Stairs, would be great!

StevenC

request for next poll (x and pearl)

Jeff

The Descent

Michael Bergeron

Ugh, my least favorite time of year lol. Not a complaint. I just don’t like scary movies. I get why people love it though. Have fun everyone!

Jacob King

Halloween is an indisputable classic and The Fly is exactly as gross as everyone says it is… I still voted for It Follows because I like the weird vibes. A lot of people are suggesting Friday the 13th and I wouldn’t disagree but if we are going for the OG slashers Black Christmas needs some love.

Jacob King

Yes!! The Citizen Kane of movies.

Marvin Just Marvin

I hope movies like Vamp (1986) (hey, its got Grace Jones in it!) or Fright Night (1985) make it into the rotation some day ;-)

kikoyito

I hope It Follows comes back on the polls, its a great movie. Recommending Get Out, Creep, Autopsy of Jane Doe, and a fun little halloween themed movie I'd like to see again, Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman)

KnittingHaven

I would love to see her react to Scream, but it references a lot of classic horror movies and spoils a few. I think at a minimum people should try to watch original Halloween and original Friday the 13th before starting Scream franchise.

Richard Maurer

Carpenter and Cronenberg I would hope.

Richard Maurer

Every film in this poll is much better than The Conjuring.

Richard Maurer

Oh boy. just what the worlds needs - another Scream reaction. Most over-rated "horror" movie of all time.

Richard Maurer

Voted for Halloween to help it beat QP2, but if It Follows were doing better I would have had a hard time choosing.

Logan Kerlee

Come on folks! Let's start spook season off with a sciency vibe to it! The Fly is my pick.

Richard Maurer

That thought almost makes me want to change my vote away from Halloween so we never have to worry about getting to the Scream series.

DaftBasterd

I voted for A Quiet Place 2 to boost the Cillian Murphy supremacy.

El_Zilcho22

Halloween is my favorite horror film so had to vote for it. But It Follows and A Quiet Place 2 are good too. The Fly I haven't seen since I was a kid so don't remember too much about it.

Arthur Bright

I assume The Fly and Halloween are both the versions from the 1980s, as opposed to The Fly from the '50s and Halloween from one of the many relaunches?

Arthur Bright

Oh, and a vote for One Cut of the Dead in a forthcoming Natmares poll!

Martin7777

Be afraid… be very afraid.

Martin7777

You should avoid doing this. The early favourites often win even though people truly prefer other movies

Alan Felicia

John Carpenter's Halloween came out in 1978

Alan Felicia

Good Call! Correct, Zombie did a remake back in 2007 and a sequel in 2009. More blood & gore than scary. Just feel nothing compares to OG, movie was creepy AF! LOL!

Ernesto

Yes, I've been asking for this as I feel Nat would have a blast with it

Chris Balster

The Company of Wolves isa really cool take on Little Red Riding Hood if you ever feel so inclined.

Arthur Bright

Ah, you’re right. But still, any other “Halloween” (no modifications to the title) was a lot later.

Nathaniel Wolf

Thank God It follows isn't winning. By far one of the shittiest movies I've ever seen

Nathaniel Wolf

Talk about a dumpster fire of a crappy movie.

Chris H

The Scream franchise would be a good watch! Not too scary but pretty iconic.

Ian

Looks like Halloween is going to take it yawn 🥱 so bored with every reactor on the planet doing the same movies oh well at least nat will make the borefest that is Halloween more entertaining I guess

Aaron Davies

Jeff goldblum fly is good , quiet place 2 is best film there . Halloween films all of them are quite boring

Aaron Davies

Suggestions though , the descent , dog soldiers, life

Richard Maurer

Halloween does not seem to hold up because it's been relentlessly copied by every slasher movie for so many years, including Halloween sequels and reboots. But since Natalie doesn't normally watch horror it should still "get her",

Richard Maurer

I keep track of polls that are close. I don't see It Follows making a big comeback as poll has remained steady so far. Besides I'd be just as happy if Halloween wins and since QP2 is close behind at this point I won't be changing my vote.

Richard Maurer

Since Halloween started the 80's slasher boom it can still considered a 80's slasher just to avoid having to say "late 70's through the 80's slasher boom".

Richard Maurer

Man I hate the Scream movies. The first one is not scary and not nearly as "cool" as it pretends to be. And the rest are just money-grabs - even though they pretend to be spoofing money-grab sequels, in the end they're really no different than any other money-grab sequel.

pedantech

Beetlejuice would make a great Halloween reaction movie.

Luis

It Follows is such an underrated film, I really hope you get to it at some point even if it doesn’t win the poll

jamie jones

The girl with all the gifts would be great for natmares

David Sumner

I want her to watch the Fly so bad! I would advise her to not eat anything beforehand.

Kim Winkel

Ti Wests and Mia Goths X and Pearl from 2022 might be good picks (although maybe seeing the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre might be a good pick to prepare for the tone)

Skizane

Party pooper.

Adam Doyle

Halloween is a classic and the godfather of the modern slasher film. Worth a watch for sure. For a more fun option, have you seen the Final Destination series?!

Darchangel

I know I said it on the Coraline vid, but Corpse Bride is a Tim Burton stop-motion spooky movie that could be used as respite in the middle of all the other scary movies

Christian Padilla

RECOMMENDATION: TALK TO ME the movie directed by YouTubers and bought by A24

Baron

Oh No, Halloween is gonna be a problem as John Carpenter retained his rights to the music he created for the movie, so any remakes they have to pay him for the music, I played a game that featured his music, and while I did not get in trouble it was basically like hey you can not monetize this video the money goes to John Carpenter because you used his music, good luck with that, or maybe just plan on not having any of the music in your YT video.

Richard Maurer

Nothing I hate more than "respites" during Halloween reaction season. It just means that one of the slots that could been a horror movie is taken by a kid's movie or a comedy. We're lucky if we get 4 horror movies a year from Natalie, so I don't appreciate giving any of them up for horror- adjacent movies.

Eric Janssen

"Sheesh, every freakin' reactor in the world does Halloween--I want her to do something original like Hereditary, instead! Can't we see more A24?" 😂

Darchangel

Then vote against movies you don't like in the polls, no need to cry about people's suggestions

Derek H.

If you've never seen Halloween, it's got to be Halloween...

Meep Draws

please don’t let that corny movie win 🙏🏽

Walter Lopez

NATMARE recommendations: Evil Dead 1 /or 2, Talk To Me, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Upgrade, Overlord, Cloverfield/Cloverfield Lane, Krampus, The Lighthouse, any Predator movie, Green Room, Mandy and OG Fright Night Please put any of these up on Yo Polls, Nat!

Asha Hayes

It follows is one of the creepiest horror movies I've ever seen, not necessarily the scariest but damn

Nathaniel Wolf

Or maybe it's one of the most severely overrated movies of all time.

Luis

That’s your opinion and I can respect that 👍

Richard Maurer

Too much respecting of opinions for my taste. It Follows is underrated if anything. Especially when you compare it to the Conjuring and Scream garbage they're pumping out these days.

Richard Maurer

So many bad suggestions here it makes me wanna cry.

Craig D

the 4th kind

Christopher Mcconnell

Pretty solid one. love seeing actors out of the comfort zone. In that vein I would love to see 1 hour photo on here too.

Christopher Mcconnell

scary movies are my least viewed genera but I really like the Decent, and it was fun seeing imagery from that show up in the first Tomb Raider Reboot game.

Christopher Mcconnell

older movies I would love to see for spooky season is Candy Man, and Evil Dead 2. would also recommend for more contemporary movies, The Descent and Triangle, oh and Black Phone! based on a story by Joe Hill, Stephen kings son, it feels very King-y and has some great shots and good performances from the kids.

Scott Ward

Damn! I always choose the least popular thing!

Aaron Taft

I have tried for 3 years to get her to watch 1408... she won't do it. :(

Danishprince

Love 1408 but doubt it's a movie that's popular enough to win a poll unfortunately

Cindy Williams

Recommend Train to Busan. It’s Korean so subtitles but one of the best zombie movies ever!

Jenny Tolls

same but for the first time in a long time my choice won lol

Jenny Tolls

Wait, which Halloween? There's so many lol and the first one is kinda lame tbh

Mike Hell

One Hour Photo is an excellent thriller that shows just how much range Robin Williams had. I wish more people had seen that film.

Dwight Everhart

Please consider 10 Cloverfield Lane. It's one of the most suspenseful films I've seen. It's also an intriguing mystery.
