I'm celebrating Bitwig Studio's 10th anniversary by hosting a competition where you can win various versions of Bitwig Studio software. Just comment with the year it was first released to enter. Given it's 2024 now, the year you need is 2014.

The prizes are:

Full Version of Bitwig Studio, which includes all presets and devices, including the grid.

Producer Version, which has fewer devices and presets.

Essential Version, which offers fewer resources and lacks the grid feature.

There might also be additional rewards, such as one-year upgrades for existing users and possibly some 8-track licenses.

Reflecting on my own journey, I transitioned from Cubase to Bitwig Studio, which reignited my passion for music production with its dynamic, modular approach that made music creation fun again. This pivotal change inspired me to start my YouTube channel, fostering a supportive community and allowing me to share my love for music production. Through this channel, I've connected with a fantastic audience that supports my endeavors, allowing me to focus full-time on creating music and content that continues to inspire both myself and others.

2014 ------ I started composing music with Impulse Tracker back when I was 14 years old. Then I moved to Renoise when I was college. I didn't even know what a "real" DAW was. I'd heard of Cakewalk but didn't ever use it. Eventually I discovered MPE and polyphonic aftertouch which Renoise and Impulse Tracker did not support. So I needed a piece of software that would have those capabilities and that's how I found BitWig. After a year of BitWig... I found myself craving something different. Not because I had a problem with BitWig, but because I was used to tracker software not an actual what you would think of as a DAW. And I hated the piano roll so much. It wasn't BitWig, it was the Piano Roll. And I wanted to just enter the notes in using notation. But the problem with notation software is that you lose all of BitWigs cool features while composing. So I threw my hands in the air and thought I found a middle ground in Reaper which has notation built in and cool features. But after a month of Reaper... I desperately missed the features of BitWig. And decided that using BitWig was more than worth dealing with the Piano Roll which I hated. And I've been with Bitwig ever since.

2014! ---- I moved to Bitwig inspired by Reframinator and his looping setup. I wanted to build my own looper and seeing the Grid just blew me away, I knew at once I had to learn how to use it. Not been an easy switch from Ableton Live, but I'm still loving the app.

I already own the full version up to date version of bitwig. My guess is 2014 and if I win I gift my prize to someone who doesn't already have bitwig. Xx

I've had one or other version of Bitwig for years now. Cannot imagine life without it. 2014! Wow ... That long since it was born?

2014... I started using Bitwig in 2019, after years of hiatus from making music.
