Update: I’ve made a template patch that lets you clone kick drums without any setup. It includes a brief guide, default settings, and an example kick drum. Hope it helps! Download it on my GitHub: https://bit.ly/45bpReY

While we're all eagerly waiting for Bitwig Studio 6, I decided to make the most of the current version by diving into resynthesizing drum sounds within the Grid.

In this process, I use tools like zero crossing analysis and envelope followers to extract and recreate kick drums, allowing for precise control over both the pitch and amplitude envelopes.

This method lets me build clean, tweakable drum sounds from scratch or from samples, giving me a flexible preset collection instead of a folder full of samples. Not only does this keep my workflow efficient and creative, but it also makes every drum hit uniquely customizable for each track.

Recreation of the kick’s pitch drop and amplitude shape using Segments in Grid

Use of seconds (ms) for envelope timing to keep sound consistent despite BPM changes

Process of matching and fine-tuning pitch and amplitude envelopes for close replication

Addition of noise layers using noise generators or noise samples for tonal variety

Explanation of using samplers with static noise for consistent kick character

Mention of sharing drum sounds and presets with the community (e.g., Patreon)

Encouragement for viewers to experiment with similar techniques in their workflow

I drop some presets soon? maybe?

Sample Pack CEOs are FURIOUS about this FORBIDDEN Bitwig Grid technique

Hello! Bitwig 6 is not here yet, but we can still make music and share knowledge. Here is a stupid simple process of cloning sounds (kick/snare) in the Bitwig Grid. The setup takes a bit of time to explain, but you can save time by using presets. You can probably download the presets I showed on my patreon! Dude! This is incredible! Have you thought doing the same for snares?
