2026 Updates (Patreon)
Content
Hey everyone, welcome to the new year 2026! I just wanted to give you a quick update on the projects I'm working on, so you don't think I'm just sitting at home lounging around or something. 😂 I've got a few bigger things that are kind of halfway done but still need some testing. Just wanted to let you know that something's coming soon!
Knowledge Search - https://polarity.me/search/
So, I’ve done a bit of a small revamp on my website, especially the search feature. I used to rely on a service from Algolia that basically embedded a JavaScript search, but I wasn’t really happy with it long-term because the search results weren’t that interesting or useful.
So, I put in the effort to use a vector database that integrates all the web pages from polarity.me, and with the vector search, the results should be way better.
The Search is not just looking for keywords; you can actually type in full sentences or questions. This should lead to way better results!
If you’re looking for videos or specific topics on Bitwig, or tips and tricks, you should definitely be able to find things way faster than on YouTube or Google, in my opinion. (I'm using it myself, when people ask for specific videos)
Poli-Chat-Bot
So, in relation to the new search feature, I've been trying to build a chatbot that lets you interact with the search in a different way. It works with a language model to piece together and generate knowledge from my page and videos, so you can get answers to your questions right away or even step-by-step tutorials in text form, without having to dig through my site or find specific parts in a video. (also in other languages than english). It also spits out the sources of the Information, so you can watch my video or read the transcription.
But I'm not sure how useful this will be for my website or if people even want something like this, especially since AI is a bit of a hot topic right now. Plus, I need to consider how much it’ll cost me each month because I can't run it locally on my computer; I need to use certain services for that.
I'm currently testing it out, and yeah, it's working for now, but I still need some time to figure out if it really makes sense. Just wanted to give you a heads-up that I'm working on this!
Bitwig Guide Content - https://polarity.me/bitwig-guides/
I've also added some content along with the search and chatbot features. So, all the videos from my "Bitwig Guide" YouTube channel are now transcribed and summarized on my website, and you can find them in the search or through the chatbot too.
While I was at it, I realized I probably need to update some videos 😂, and there are definitely a bunch of videos missing on specific devices or audio effects. I might even write something about the controller scripts, like a little tutorial on how to program them and how everything connects, along with all the pitfalls you might encounter. I've learned a lot about that and documented it, so I want to incorporate it into videos or on the website, making it a resource you can refer back to. I know Jürgen has some cool tutorials, but he is mainly focused on Java Extension.

Bitwig Companion
Hey, remember those controller scripts I posted last year for the Melody Maker, Chord Maker, and a bunch of other stuff you can do with the controller API in Bitwig Studio?
The problem was that there were just way too many scripts cluttering up the Bitwig toolbar, and it was hard to tell which icon belonged to which script. It felt a bit overwhelming up there. So, I thought, why not create an external desktop app that connects to Bitwig through a single controller script?
With that one script, you could control Bitwig or send commands from the desktop app, making things a lot clearer. Plus, it means you won’t be so limited by the Bitwig interface itself.
Everything's pretty much working already, and I've also already integrated the Melody Maker into the desktop app. I've made sure that the individual modules act like plugins. So, if you want, you can write your own plugin for the desktop app, and then the app sends it to the Bitwig script, allowing you to interact with Bitwig through the desktop app and create your own tools and features.
It's working pretty well now, but I still need to do some testing and I want to tweak a few details for the graphical interface. I've got a lot of ideas for different plugins and I've discovered a bunch of things you can do with the API that others haven't explored yet, so I think it's going to be a really cool, well-rounded tool. Of course, it's open source as always, multi platform, expandable, and as well-documented as possible.
Dispenser - https://polarity.productions/dispenser/
The dispenser has turned out pretty cool! I've tweaked it so well that it now works with YouTube too. So, if you have a subscription on YouTube and you're paying for it, you can log in to the dispenser using your YouTube account and download stuff based on your tier.
Unfortunately, it took me a bit of time because the YouTube documentation isn't the best, and their API suggests you can do certain things that you actually can't. For example, checking the tiers from your own channel is really poorly documented, and it gives you the impression that it works, but it doesn't.
After digging through some forums, I found out that it really doesn't work, and a lot of others are having the same issue right now. But I managed to integrate it anyway. Right now, I still have to download a CSV file to keep the subscribers updated, but at least it works! Plus, you can download everything if you're a subscriber. The Bandcamp codes are working fine, and you can usually find a download quickly with the search feature.
And YES, i add more content soon for your to download. :D

Wrap Up
So, just to sum this up:
the search feature on my website is live now, so you can use it anytime you want.
The bot is still being tested, so I’ll need to check on that and maybe wait for your feedback before I release it.
The Bitwig Buddy is also in the testing phase; I might need another week or two to finalize it, and then I’ll put it out and make a YouTube video about it too. Feel free to give me feedback if you want!
The dispenser is already online and up to date.
I’m also planning to make some new videos, free course content or Bitwig documentation.
I’ve got a ton of little ideas and tools that I’ve started coding, presets I’ve begun, music pieces that are half-finished, so there’s a lot still in the works.
I hope to wrap up a lot of this, but like I said, give me your input, tell me what you need, what you’re imagining, or any ideas you have. Catch you later! 🤝
