Another Growl Bass Patch but with a twist. After the recent video about "Learning the Grid", here is a practical  example how i came up with patches inspired by FM8 for Dubstep &  Drum and Bass growl basses.

I also made a small Demo Project with the Bass for all Patreons: https://bit.ly/44uaCvn

I really LOVE your recreations of synths/processes from other systems into Bitwig. It really illustrates the underlying simplicity of many of these plugins and the incredible power of Bitwig. Once in BW, of course, the modulation and control is out of this world.

Pretty interesting approach to “reverse engineering” a sound. And though I used to work in lab which did formant synthesis (for text-to-speech), I never realized that such an easy waveform could emulate a formant. (For speech sounds, multiple formants define vowels and a person’s unique voice. They’re produced by the shape of the mouth, basically.) At this point, it sounds like a “trademark move” for you to start a video with “here’s a simple way to do this” and switch to “what if we did this instead?”. It works, especially since it provides two sources of inspiration. As for wavetables getting boring… Well, have you modulated index at audiorate? That could get exciting… ;-)

I know this is lame, but can you share your FM8 formants? I can't really figure out how to create or export from FM8. I have drawn them a bit but it's not accurate and the sound reflects that inaccuracy.

Found your uploaded curves, thanks! Trying them out today.
