KVR recently launched a free local plugin management application for Windows and Mac. This tool scans your hard drive for VST2, VST3, and CLAP plugins, listing all installed plugins on your drive. Users can synchronize this list with KVR to receive updates, leave reviews, or engage with forums. The application features include:

Scanning and listing installed plugins.

Synchronizing with KVR for plugin updates and information.

Sorting plugins by CLAP or VST.

Identifying outdated plugins locally or on KVR.

Direct file access via the explorer to manage plugin files easily.

Removing failed or unwanted plugins after scanning.

Highlighting plugins installed in multiple directories for cleanup.

The application aims to provide a comprehensive overview of installed plugins, ease plugin management, and keep users informed about updates. Despite occasional crashes, it offers unique market value by simplifying plugin management across different DAWs and versions.Download / Info: https://bit.ly/3PdGjUP

YouTube should automatically delete a plugin after we watch a Polarity video 😎

As a owner of many plugins, a good manager with update checks is always appreciated. However, the KSM does not support VST2 and it probably won't be supported in the future. KVR is mentioning this in their forum. VST2 is considered as dead format (although many plugin developers release VST2 and VST3 versions up to this date).

This is wild. I've been working on a similar project in my spare time, but my idea also helps manage hardware. Staying on top of all the updates from everywhere can take so much time, so it's good to see stuff like this that helps us focus more time creating.

With so much of my Collection being made up of VST2 and Bridged 32bit plugins there would not appear to be much use for my purposes. I have my plugins filed by Format, Intrument vs Effect, Developer. In Studio One (my 'Other' main DAW 😉) , I have them nested by Type plus the DAW automatically runs a separate list by Developer, as does our beloved Bitwig. Updating, I do myself manually.

Nifty! This has always been needed.

Sooo… No, I won’t give you all my money. That would make it impossible to buy more plugins. 🤣 Finding plugins to delete is indeed a neat use case. Other plugin hosts help in this way, including BWS and Waveform. Like others, I’ve been wishing for something like this. Didn’t know about OwlPlugin. It’s nice that it pairs with a broad database. KVR has been crowdsourcing data for a while and this is clear evidence that there are needs associated with such data. Let's hope that they can really improve on this project. Even for a beta, it’s a bit wonky. Not only does it crash frequently, the overall User Experience affords a rethinking. So, I’m both pleased that there's increased awareness of this need… and “cautiously pessimistic” as to this specific project's future.

Cyber Sensei, what is the best affordable reverb for tight intimate mixes? Is it Valhalla plate, or will the plate convolution reverb in bitwig be enough ?

I've become a bit disappointed in this app after few weeks using it. I guess it's good because it collects a lot of information about the plugins that are installed in your system. But then it confronts you with more problems than you started with. I may just go back to ignoring the plugins that I've forgotten about. I don't know. Sigh!
