We finishing up what easily is. My new absolute fav anime yet. Truly peak

The Dangers of my Heart S2 Ep 10 & 11 - Excuse me Pop in for a what?

We combining two eps per video now~! Ep 10 now has a little bit of a new noisy girl who really wants people to get together... which can be a bit of a sweaty moment :X And we also get a new blonde girl who seems... cold but in reality she is just another girl who wants to see love bloom kek

But on ep 11. It feels like a bro moment for the bois needed to step up to prove their feelings for Yamada. One is powered by omg her boobs big and the other genuinely sees her for who she is.However one can't help but feel this was needed for Ishikawa to realize how much he cares for Yamada :> and it is so sweet to see his feelings shining thru. Also Moeko secretly best for for horny boi on main :X

The Dangers of my Heart S2 Ep 12 & 13 - This anime is easily my new all time fav

Tis the school trip time! I think this final two eps really just goes to show how much the characters grew thruout the series.Seeing how Yamada was willing to do a silent sacrifice for Ishikawa's first ever school trip. To a point that she is clearly putting up a front as she couldn't let go of her own dreams and at the same time our boi slowly realizing what Yamada gave up to go on this trip with him ;w;

But the real kicker is how it all came down to the big confession.. and my heart just melted so much ;w;.

Truly, peak. I am so glad to have watched this with you all <3

Thank you all once again for this amazing recommendation.I too shall be recommending this anime to others :) For this is just... so peak ;o;...I cant wait for season 3~!

Screenies as always~!EP 10 & 11

Glad you had fun with this Yui. All the characters were gems and absolutely precious. I have more recommendations, kubo won't let me be invisible and the girl I like forgot her glasses. Both cute series and absolutely love the books.

Creed Lionheart

This has been such an escalation of peak. And here i thought we would have to wait until Season 3 for the confession. But not only did we get one from both of them, we get an adorable kiss from Yamada! It feels weird to be so emotional at the end, but i guess it’s inevitable when you are so invested in a show. Easily in my top 3 favorite romance animes!❤️

Sonic-Speed17

I need that movie and S3 in my life. Now! But at the same time is it weird to say that how it ended in S2 wouldn't be the worst way for this anime to end? Either way I will say, I wasn't in the best headspace recently (hence why I made that connection to our boi here). But this anime I think helped cracked me out of that by the end a bit. I think I'm starting to understand fuwa fuwa now.

Congrats on finishing S2 of peak! Just wanna inform that there are two official, canon spin-offs: - The light novel which features side stories featuring Kyo and other characters (with their POV), specifically Moeko, Kanzaki and Mama Yamada. A EN fan translation exists on the BokuYaba (shortened JP name) Discord server, but the official translation is set to release in July I believe. - Kyo's sister, Kana, has an ongoing romcom manga of her own with her takoyaki shop junior coworker. Both are written by different people who are fans of the series, but supervised by the original mangaka. Most of the events in both take place after S2's events tho, so maybe you should consider picking these up after a potential S3. Gotta love how wide the BokuYaba-verse is, since the main series is obviously mostly focused on the main duo, with Kyo being the only one with first-person narration, so it’s nice that these spin-offs provide extra insight on side characters.

Fun fact for episode 10: one of the new girls introduced, Hanzawa (the quiet one that kind of looks like a recolor of Yamada lol) is actually a character from a one-shot that the mangaka made years prior to making Dangers In My Heart. Chihiro (the dense, short girl in Yamada's group of friends) is also a prominent character in the one-shot, and the story follows their antics while they are in elementary school (this is referenced by Chihiro at 15:28 of the vid, and the book Hanzawa dropped in the library is the same book she had in elementary school as well). The one-shot, "Hanbiraki-san", is really short at 6 pages and is translated on manga sites in case you were curious.

Since it was mentioned in the post-series discussion, I would like to note that no official photos of the mangaka, Norio Sakurai, actually exist; two claims of photos showing the mangaka have been noted: the more recent one that I think Yui saw was actually a fan cosplaying Yamada and someone down the line either misinterpreted it or spread fake info that this cosplayer was the mangaka. As for inspirations, Norio has stated that the original concept of Dangers Of My Heart was based on her own interest in idols and wanted to create a story of what it would be like for her to interact with an idol when she was at school. This eventually got changed to the story we have now, so in a sense Ichikawa is supposed to be the "self-insert". I'm assuming this is more loosely based (I doubt Norio thought of murdering her idols, at least I hope so), as I can see Ichikawa thoughts of obsessing, restraining himself, and being possessive of Yamada throughtout the series is similar to what an idol fan can go through.

For those that want to start the manga immediately where the last episode leaves off (and are too impatient to wait for the additional movie content and/or season 3 lol), you can start at volume 9, chapter 114. I probably would recommend starting the manga at the very beginning though for 1. get that injection of sugary goodness again lol and 2. get to see some of the extra stuff that had to be cut from the anime (basically alot more of the small skits like from the OVA, some additional illustrations made by the mangaka, and some supplementary material like a timeline of when our couple began to start to get feelings for each other). The biggest cut from the anime that I recommend anyone check out though is the Volume 7 extra chapter, dubbed "Episode 0" (some manga sites note this as Chapter 99.2). Unlike the rest of the manga, it's basically a light novel chapter with maybe a few pages having pictures; the chapter details Ichikawa's mindset at the start of middle school and his very first interaction with Yamada which ties to the very first chapter (episode 11 of the anime shows that Ichikawa interacted with Yamada briefly prior to episode 1). It's a really interesting read to further understand why Ichikawa was the way he was at the beginning.

Thanks for the reactions to the Peak In My Heart Season 2, Yui. The mangaka did announce like a month ago that the manga is ending soon (I'm guessing on the current pace we have like 10 or more chapters left), so maybe down the line we may get a full anime adaptation as Ichikawa and Yamada's relationship develops further, now as a couple.

Ohhhh boy here we go, gonna be long. I'm writing this in slowly while watching these so I don't forget anything, lol. We start with the start of their 3rd year, which means Ichikawa is now older than what the word "Chunibyo" means (Middle School 2nd-Year Syndrome) given Ichikawa acted very Chuni as a defense mechanism, and has since been himself now, I find it very fitting. I like how this episode shows how the teachers at this school are paying close attention to the students and are actually very good teachers. Ichikawa's 2nd Year teacher pulling strings to keep Ichikawa, Yamada, and her friends together knowing it's good for they're growth and it's what they want too. As well as, who I assume is the principle, was apparently worried for Ichikawa too, since to them I bet it was obvious that he was going through things before. We get introduced to the final obstacle to Ichikawa and Yamada's couple status in the form of Panda, with Ichikawa wanting to get the courage and timing to ask Yamada out on his own without being forced to do it. Then there's Hanzawa wanting to know about love and trying to observe Ichikawa and Yamada to try and understand, which leads into Yamada's note that Ichikawa reads which is just Peak man, and shows that Yamada definitely knows that Ichikawa likes her too, or at least close to it. Then we got the development of Ichikawa and Adachi's friendship. I always loved Adachi, because he was just funny, but now that I think about it, he's a pubescent boy so of course he's gonna be, not only thinking about that stuff, but purely base is idea on "liking someone" being "liking their looks and body" which is realistic for a boy his age. So the challenge is Adachi starting to realize there is something different to Ichikawa's "liking someone" and wanting to confront that about himself. He doesn't hate on Ichikawa, hell he even apologized in the same episode for telling a lie about him, he doesn't resent Ichikawa in anyway, he just wants confirmation that what he's feeling is wrong, and to go down, but still takes it seriously enough to show respect to Ichikawa. Then when they're challenging each other Adachi is told by Ichikawa that his feelings aren't the same, so Adachi tries to give up, but Ichikawa, seeing how seriously he took this doesn't want him to give up, he tell Adachi that, even if it wasn't anything like proper romance, Adachi still liked Yamada for those reasons. It's like he's telling Adachi that, his feelings are still valid, just misguided and misunderstood by himself, evident by Adachi not seeing Moeko's hint later in the episode, and it's just peak character writing to turn this seemingly one-off foil/obstacle to Ichikawa into a realistic depiction of a pubescent teen realizing it's not all about sex, and a friend for Ichikawa who hasn't had any true male friends since he got separated from his childhood friends. Ichikawa cares enough about Adachi to not only take up his challenge, but make sure Adachi didn't give up and understand both of their feelings. Which leads to something I find important: Ichikawa realizing that what he's been running from all this time, since not getting into that school, was disappointment. Which is an important step since then end of last season, when he realized his attitude was an armor, now he knows the root cause of what that armor was shielding: disappointment. I could go on further about Adachi this whole episode, but we've got 2 more to go through, lol. The school trip begins, and it starts with Yamada and her worries about not being able to go. She wants to go to hang out with Ichikawa, and during their call, she's probably about to say she can't, but she she sees that Ichikawa was looking at his trip book from last year's trip, the one Ichikawa admitted he lied to get out of going last season. Yamada could also tell that last season, when looking at Ichikawa's Yearbook, he seemed sad that he didn't go to said trip, so when she saw the book on Ichikawa's bed she didn't want to ruin the new trip for him, since he never got to even go to the last one, and her crying, trying to decide between Ichikawa and her own happiness is so heartbreaking, man. Of course Ichikawa doesn't realize that's why at first, but I love how despite his internal thoughts thinking out the kiss scene, he constantly denies it until he gets confirmation on what's really wrong, because he knows Yamada so well, and his face with the music when he's blaming himself hurts. Final episode of season 2, the big one, man I love this show. The whole bed scene is just Peak hgn and comedy, but Ichikawa stopping the kiss from happening, to tell Yamada what he needs to, therefore putting Yamada's feelings first, over something as enticing as a kiss from his crush, is so sweet. The whole confession scene is so good, peak is an understatement, there is no word in any human language to convey how good it is. The setting alone is beautiful, and the fact that Ichikawa knows, based on everything including Yamada's voice, that the face she's making is sad, before he even takes off the mask is so perfect. He knows that there is not much he can say without Yamada still feeling down, so he decides to confess everything, and I don't just mean his feelings for her, but everything. How he's exactly felt earlier, how that changed to how he feels now, all made possible due to his recent realizations, and of course, thanks to her. He doesn't hide a thing and to top it all off, he says he loves her, to make sure she 100% gets it all. God that scene, not much I can say, it speaks for itself. I love Chii coming in, since her and Yamada are so close, only she can help Ichikawa get Yamada's butt to the audition, and I love how Ichikawa doesn't say "you got this"/"you can do it" as a call back to how he didn't wanna hear those things while preparing for his speech, but "it'll be alright"/"you'll be alright" which are the words Yamada said to him to make him truly feel like he could do it, and he says them to her. Ichikawa still having fun on the trip, thanks to all the friends he's made, is so sweet, then him running to see Yamada ahhh. Also Ichikawa telling an accidental pun is a call back to episode 1 where Yamada told an accidental pun when Ichikawa gave her his cutter for her project, peak callback. Then their final true confession scene is perfect, I love how Yamada confesses her internal thoughts too, just like Ichikawa did. The POV shot of Ichikawa looking at her, with his hair covering half the screen only to have said hair be blown out of the way is peak symbolism, and the attempt at a kiss is so them, and much better than an actual kiss. Nothing more to say, peak. This anime is so special to me (if that wasn't obvious, lol) and I'm so glad I could share these long essays about it and that not only you actually read them, but your other viewers do too, thank you, all of you, truly. You can just feel the passion put into making these characters, they're so 3 dimensional and you can truly understand how they think, feel, and how they'd react to any given scenario. I can't wait for more and I'm so glad this is not the kind of story to just end at the confession, we get more, we get to see more, I can't wait to these these dorks now be a couple and what goofy, heartbreaking, sweet, scary, and or absolutely peak situations they will face in the future. I wish someday I can talk about this and my other fixations, whether anime or not, in person with people someday, cause there is so much on my mind that I cannot type out for various reasons, but I tried to get the most important parts here. Thank you all again, and I hope I can do this for you again, whether for a new show that I'm as invested in, or when season 3 and the movie come out. See you all there, wherever and whenever that may be.❤️😊❤️😘❤️ Peace.
