0.20 bug fixing! (Patreon)

We're been bug fixing the upcoming update for a stable release and it should be ready soon. I know a lot of you have been messaging me about a release date and are excited to play the new content. All the content is implemented, we simply are making sure it's a stable build before releasing. 

In the meantime, here's some new characters, existing characters with updated art and existing characters in different outfits!

Stuff behind the scenes could be getting updated every day. Imagine trying to get hundreds, maybe thousands, of people to all be on the latest prerelease build at all times.

They also just got to 99% this week. There's no way to get that last 1% in and fix the known bugs AND fix any new ones that pop up in < 24 hours. It'll be out soon enough.

As anxious as I am to get this update, I rather wait to have your team catch as many bugs as possible. This means I won't have to keep downloading multiple patched versions after the initial release. The streams, improved artwork, and new characters have been great to watch you draw!

Roughly 5 months later, approx. $300,000 later. All for a small half update (so we do t have to wait long). the latest poll suggests patreon followers don't want wide screen yet after the results you still plan on making widescreen version soon. All for money... finishing the second half of version 20 update by December? A full year and over a half million in profits.... to get an appartment and a few hardcore scenes. Entire games are produced in that time frame. Its clearly about the profits. If you cared about your followers, you would hire more workers!!

@steve perry WWE2K 20 was pretty rushed and had mor then 200 people working in gameplay development /graphic design / network coding and even more fields. The outcome is what you see today, a buggy mess even with a far larger budget. Also it takes time to train a new employee to the extend, that he can work on his own on an ongoing project. Let's be real, most of you would not employ anyone if it means to cut of some of your mony so i don't see why you're complaining. Pretty sure that its only the 1$ pledge for most of the people that complain.

DC is gonna lose so many supporters if this update doesn't deliver. He has already lost almost $5000 since he posted saying he was bug testing (which is a load of shit) I programmed multiple games in Java and I could have a list of over 100 bugs and still get them completely handled in 24 hours, maybe longer if I was having difficulties yet this idiot takes over 6 months to release HALF of an update and then says he needs to bug test which renpy is an absolute joke platform to code which is disgusting it takes them that long to fix bugs. Literally milking all of his supporters which most of them deserve because they are on DC's side thinking its perfectly normal or he is doing his best. Ignorance at its best.

Here is the problem... He had a baby/Covid-19/blah , blah blah... None of these creators are stepping up saying... "Listen this update is going to take a lot longer. I will release a small version update sooner (3-4 months), or you will have to wait a while to get the big update you deserve." So we are stuck waiting for a single version update after nearly 5 months, but everyone sticks around for it, because... What is your other option? I just wish the creators were more up front.

Honestly I pledge $1 for when the updates actually release and not a penny more because I do get the unsettling feeling that DCs work flow is suspiciously slower than other less lucrative patreons out there with similar if not arguably better results. Do I think he deserves money for his work, absolutely but if people are going to complain then end your pledges and speak with your wallets or pledge sporadically not regularly if you take offense at how the project is run

I've been saying similar stuff for awhile now, at the very least we should be seeing regular updates every two months. Like playable updates. Its been six months since the last major content update, they sound like their gonna drop 2.0 here soon, so quite a huge gap. Not to mention 2.0, while large, is being divided into two parts that wont drop at the same time. I keep telling people to role back to minimum payments till releases. You got people like Vren dropping updates every two months and hes doing it solo for his game. (I will saying he is using Cg though so its a little easier to work with) Basically, if they could get a more consistent update time for the game I would ship the game so fucking hard.

How about this then? The creator is doing a piss poor job with the time and funding from the Patreon that he receives. This either means that the project is being run poorly and incompetently, or he’s doing a Star Citizen - milking a deluded fanbase too stupid to know any better. With all the feature creep, and wasting time redoing the art design when you only have 1 artist, some of which are clearly worse than the old designs, it’s definitely just milking. Btw, phrases like “grow up” and “you’re acting entitled” aren’t valid arguments. Maybe think about what I wrote and then get back to me.

I think a lot of frustration comes from the ~8 year timer on how long this game will take to develop. I'm a huge fan, but that's just too ambitious of a project. I've been a supporter for years. I can't support this game from age 21-29. IMO that's really the only valid excuse anyone can make for being upset. There is no correlation between money earned and amount of work produced. I'm sure everyone would like DC to have a set $50,000/year salary and just constantly upgrade the equipment and team working around him.. but that's not the way the world works. This is what he's doing for a living. He has to put his family first. The work is consistent. Just because the money intake increases doesn't mean he should fix what isn't broken. DC is paid with donations. DC is not contractually obligated to do anything. This is his project. His rules. He could scrap it tomorrow and it is what it is. In short I am bummed out, but I also recognize DC isn't guilty of any crime. Of course, everyone is entitled to an opinion, as negative or positive as it may be.

Wait can you prove factually that all his funding is going to family and that his only source of income is this Patreon exclusively? Can you really say that with straight face because I’ve seen a group of 2 do more with less while holding down their own in this situation. I severely doubt this is his only source of income. You’d really have to provide sims sources. If this is his only source of income then technically it means it’s his job. Patreon isn’t just a give a donation foundation anymore. It’s a business platform and many peoples jobs to create consistent content on it. A donation and a subscription service are very different and Patreon is clearly a sub service, it’s the new kick starter now for most creators and should be treated as such

TBH, I love this game. The long wait time can be torturous, but I’ve found it to be generally acceptable. Certainly acceptable enough to donate a little bit each month. If I’m dying to get my rocks off, I can always replay, or visit a porn site. Mind you, I am really hoping for a gloryhole sex update with Cassie/Olivia. And I actually hope there will one day be an option of having sex with the red headed sex worker without a condom too. :D

I was waiting to hear someone try to use covid as an excuse for delays. Think about it, everything he does is indoors, most likely in his house, so how is lockdown going to affect him. If anything he should have more time because there is legit nothing else he can do at this time. So unless he is in the ER with covid, there is no excuse for taking more time because of it.

Yeah, that would be true except DC promised to take on additional coder and then artist when he reached certain funding benchmarks. Why? To make the game faster. Does it look like he got a 2nd artist? That funding goal about a 2nd artist was left up there for a long time. Did DC break that promise? You tell me.

I would have opted for the Yakuza. But since the Mayor in the game is an obvious parody of Trump, who was investigated for 'possible' ties with Russian oligarchs and mafia is probably why he used them. But I get what you are saying.
