HEY GUYS! I've been away for a bit visiting my family overseas, so I'm sorry for less art posts on social media this month! That being said, I'm excited to be back and I hope you've all had a great September so far! A lot of patrons raised good points about the next tutorial poll, and after some deliberation, I've decided that we'll proceed with the topic of Easy Ways to Create Great Compositions for next month. This is imo a very important and fundamental topic with some tips and tricks that can be implemented to instantly elevate your works. Since I don't want to get into the habit of isolating specific drawing apps for these tutorials, I  prefer to focus on skills that can be translated through any medium! Instead of a tutorial focused only on procreate which might be too limiting and too similar to our tutorial from this month, I'll try to record some new process videos in procreate so that those interested can see my process! And I'll also direct those who use procreate to this youtube tutorial:Link: https://youtu.be/sBMf7izYzwEAlso, here's a new 4k wallpaper! Hope you enjoy! :)

Welcome back, Sam! Thanks for always bringing us such insightful content! I look forward to trying this out after work today!! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend ahead!

DeraDoesDoodles

Take your time! We’ll support you either way!!

nali

Could we still get perhaps an updated set of brushes you use for procreate too? Thinking about getting adobe soon, but just curious!

samdoesarts

Comments like this is exactly why I don't want to do a procreate (or photoshop tutorial) anymore. There's too much exclusionary narratives and too much emphasis on who uses what. I'm here to talk about art, so I'd rather not deal with this

Laura

you're the best!! Thank you for all the consideration and hope you had a relaxing time !!

samdoesarts

Side note: i've gotten too many comments of people fighting each other and calling each other "crybabies" over which app they use to draw. And for voicing their valid criticism and feedback. Simply put, that's not what I want for this community, so I'm gonna use these tutorials to focus on art and learning, and i hope everyone can just enjoy the amazing art journey together. Let's be good to each other, we're all artists and we're all learning

David Hayford

Thank you for considering us all we appreciate it all your tutorials are art based not app based so whichever you use we can still follow you really are the best and I hope the others understand that this decision you made had thought behind it ❤️

Suzakusly

Welcome back and thanks a lot!

Laura

Hey I’m a tattoo apprentice , love watching your videos. I struggle trying to compose bigger pieces, ie multiple things in one image. For example I had this idea to put two scorpions on a stylised tigers head, one dripping poison down its head and the other infecting the pool the tiger is drinking out of. I work in red and black and colder tones and I’m wondering how do you compose something without it being a mess? Your work is spectacular. I love and admire it! If you ever want a tattoo and passing through scotland (I recommend in a year when I’m good as I’m practicing the now) my insta is lauratattooss ! I am really trying to get good at drawing bigger pieces as there is a lot wrong with my designs right now but I’m finding my way

Laura

I’m starting to find a style I like I’m working on a bigger piece rn and finally feel something has clicked, your videos have been a massive help :)

Well, it seems like a new wallpaper has just instantly dropped on my iPad

rxses_xyz

welcome backk:))

Pinkfinch Art

I understand that for future polls but I think it's a bit unfair to revoke it after the procreate tutorial had already won the poll

Gabriel Cardoso

Can you do a procreate tutorial next month plz, we already won… this is unfair

Chelsea Munger

Yezzz I’m so glad! Bout to upgrade my comp skills fr😎🕺🕺🕺

Garrett

YUUUUUHHHHH!! Only been waiting for like 4 months for our boi Composition to win. Away Sam harnessed his Chi and found the Light of Composition.

Garrett

I’m not saying their points aren’t valid but I do appreciate the decision as a Traditional Artist who just wants to learn the bigger aspects of why I enjoy your work so I can incorporate or learn from it for my own. Your video for PUBG seemed to cover most of what I reckon the procreate tutorial would have even if it was a little rushed in spots. (Not saying rushed was bad as it wasn’t supposed to be a full on tutorial but it was rather informative) Thanks for the cool art and Tutorials!

Natalie

I agree with you not wanting to isolate and just teaching one app user over another but I think it’s still super important to learn how to use procreate or photoshop for people who are still new to digital art, maybe you can do a tutorial for procreate one month then a tutorial for photoshop the other or vice versa to appeal to everyone while helping those who need the tutorial, personally I find both softwares intimidating and would love a tutorial on either of them

lundblebs

finally!!! thank you for listening to us ! TT That's definitely your strongest point in art i'm looking forward to it!

Eyes

I agree with y’all about the procreate tutorial, if you really want to do a tutorial like a process walkthrough you can vote on like a top 2 or 3 and do a slightly longer tutorial including all of them! That way the most of the people can get a relevant tutorial on whatever app they use. ( I’m new to procreate would would appreciate a good walkthrough though 😅)

Minori

thank you so much sam!!! Ive been waiting for a composition video for agesss!! And guys the youtube video he linked is pretty much the easiest to follow for procreate honestly its more than enough to get started :)

Nawelly_drawing

Thank you Sam for listening your community 😊 I have no doubt this next tutorial will help a lot 👌🏻

Angela Johnson

Did we have a composition tutorial a few months ago?

Flor Bordenave

Hello Sam, I would really love it if you made a video showing your evolution in drawing, from when you started until now. It would be a great motivation to see you

Vuurmen

I've been in the camp of "I prefer the 'general' tutorials that are useable on whatever you use". Wheter the tutorials are given in procreate, photoshop or whatever other application, they will be of use for everyone. I get people might be a bit annoyed currently, but this will help everyone's art instead of a select part of the community. Thank you so much Sam for everything you've done for us so far <3 Hope you had a great time with your family!

Priscilla Lopez

Thank you so much! I rather learn skills than a program. Lol And hope your family vacay was fun!

AppreciationOwl

I have checked Sam's gumroad and I believe there was no composition tutorial ever, unless you think of some small advices he had shared here and there? 🤔

Newtonflyguy

just joined..... im wondering where the other tutorials are. Do they disappear at the end of each month?

Nic

Same here ^

ZayFeeR

Thanks Sam!!!!!!

Vuurmen

You only get the tutorial of the month you subbed for The tutorial of october isn't uploaded yet, so you will get that one, but not the previous ones, those are purchaseable on gumroad ^^

Vuurmen

*also copy pasting it for you since you asked the same question as the other person* You only get the tutorial of the month you subbed for The tutorial of october isn't uploaded yet, so you will get that one, but not the previous ones, those are purchaseable on gumroad ^^

Bridget MacKay

Chew 張

Vanessa Angel
