Hi Everyone,

So I'm a level 15 Corpo in Cyberpunk, which has been dominating my weekend. This chapter is 2.5k words long and serves as a bit more development into our antagonists. I'm hoping to write more in the next couple of days, which will focus on Quentin & Dario's take on the current developments. Chapter 39, which will be the regular Friday release, will go back to James' perspective.

Thank you all for your patience and well wishes. I forgot how tough University was, but I've one more week of classes before I'm back on break. My highly unrealistic goal is to finish Book 1 before Mid-January and starting immediately then on Book 2.

Let me know what you think of this one!

I'm confused about the Travesty - Percivus thing, did I miss something? Also, isn't the players background already public in the upper echelons since the sponsoring event and following?

Brian J. Nordon

They're currently confusing Kell with Travesty. It was Kell's character that attacked and killed Percivus, but that information isn't known to anyone outside of Vendetta Enterprises just yet. Since their identities are anonymous. As for the upper echelons, yes, but that doesn't include Jorgen or Viktor.

Deinos

Thanks! So travesty's background is known or unknown to the upper echelons, that was a bit confusing in your reply. If it is and only jorgen/viktor don't know about it, what about the analysts?

Brian J. Nordon

The Sponsors met James the E-Classer. With the exception of Nox, none of them know him as Travesty or a previous Paragon. They only saw him as a Wildcard. The first time the media heard of 'Travesty' was when it was used to bait Jorgen Baw during his conference. Nobody knows who Travesty is...

Deinos

Hm ok but the moment they knew him to be in the runnings, wouldn't they investigate him since he's sponsored and by way of elimination determine him to be travesty?

Brian J. Nordon

Not really, because Quentin announced that they were recruiting Wildcards to balance out the scales between Heroes and Villains. That means there are going to be 24 Villains in total. He teased the media and said that there were some Wildcards already in the game. Nobody knows how many are in yet. Besides, everyone that has met James knows him as the Dread Pirate Sylvian. Not as Travesty. Besides, the privacy behind gaming licences is complex, which is why the Paragons couldn't find James before.

Deinos

Ah it got mixed up a bit. Through your replies it's clear they don't know who is who ingame and try determine it. My confusion was that the news about James' background and through this connection of him having been Travesty is hitting them late. I thought that they would investigate every potential player before sponsorship and even more so straight after. Also got confused, maybe because it's been while and my addled mind forgot, about that sentence with travesty and darius, where I initially thought the e-classer to be investigated is called Darius not the e-classer the info came from.

Deinos

Ah ok

Baw

Thanks for the questions Drinks &James for clearing it up. I vote confused on that too every now and then, especially when a lot of names begin coming up rapidly.

Baw

Also, nice cliffhanger again! Looks like things will get very interesting and action-pasked soon.

So any updates on chapter 38 part 2 and chapter 39? Your previous statement in chapter 38 part 1 says they should have been released already.
