Perfect timing! I am going to Maine in 2 weeks!

I loved this. Going to give it a try.

This is gorgeous, Ellen!

Sue McGinn

Beautiful! Can't wait to try it! Thanks Ellen!

Anne Prosser

I did this on my 8” x 8” Bee sketchbook. I didn’t use the trace and changed the scale to make it work. It turned out quite nice, if I do say so myself. Thanks Ellen for a great tutorial.

Gail Witten

Very enjoyable painting this one! Thanks for a great tutorial.

Rebecca P. Simmons

Did you see Paul Clark did one like this? He called in Motif #1 from Rockport, Maine.

Bonnie Grove

I drew freehand so my house is a little wonky but overall I enjoyed working with reflections. Also, I need to know When To Stop. :)

Martie

Motif #1 is very iconic! I saw it a couple of years ago and took many pics from different angles. I knew I wanted to paint it someday. Haven’t yet but hope to next year. May first practice with this one to build confidence!

Martie

BTW it’s in Rockport, Massachusetts not Maine.

Your tips, words of encouragement, and advice on brushes in this tutorial are very appreciated. I love that you made a mistake and fixed it. That is so helpful.
