This super fun red Winter barn is perfect for those who want to learn the process of how I sketch and then go to paint. This is a sketchy painterly look- not super refined and perfect for studies. This is how you can approach an Urban sketch as well- click the highlighted words AFTER the supply list to get the photo and trace.

However I encourage you to DRAW it like I did- I show you how to break it down - you can do it!

I loved doing this tutorial. Thank you, Ellen!

Hi Ellen, your mechanical pencils do that when you are at the end of the lead. Basically the little part that grips the lead at the tip has nothing to grip cause the lead is too short. So pull out the little piece of lead with your fingers and then if you have extra lead in the pencil, simply press the advancement button several time to advance a new lead.

Hey Ellen! Carol, Grace and I just did this tutorial as our daily prompt challenge.

Your approach to the sketch really does simplify something that at first look seemed too hard. Thank you for the excellent instruction
