I love this tutorial, I was painting a landscaping scene and was getting so frustrated trying to create a grey color so this really helped me( I ended up just using paynes grey), and also loved the various ways to create greens and to show how to do the dark to lite gradation of color.

A very helpful tutorial, thankyou Ellen

Thanks Ellen! I need to do this exercise a few more times but it was so helpful to see how you made all the variations!

This is worth gold and emeralds to me. I love mixing colors and thank you for sharing what you worked hard to learn over many years.

Thanks for posting this Ellen. I was trying to recreate it from the retreat and could not remember the steps. It’s a very useful exercise.

Such an excellent tutorial, really helped to see how best to work through mixing greens and the progressive changes to the colours. Loved it.

Excellent little workshop in mixing greens. Thank you. I do have a question: I'm always intrigued by your palette. Do you tend to start a painting session with paint right out of the tube or do you let the paint on your palette dry and just reactivate it when you want to paint? It seems that you work with "fresh" paint a lot. I understand preference is, well, just that. But I'm interested in your take on the different dynamics of working with "fresh" paint vs reactivated paint. (I have no idea whether I'm making any sense here.)

The glazing of the sphere was AMAZING

This is exactly what I have been looking for for making greens, using different percentages of colors, and the whole tea, coffee, milk, cream and butter. Thank you.
