I can't believe I can actually type now- it's a miracle from weeks ago when I broke my wrist! I begin my first PT apt tomorrow but already making great progress!

I'm fresh back from my Scotland retreat- it was a bit of a challenge teaching this round with my hand because eventhough it's not my dominant hand I still use it for all kinds of things.

I had such a great time with all my Patreons who attended this retreat and the other retreats this past Summer- hopefully next yr - there will be zero injuries! LOL - The retreats for 27' are all sold out ( although I think a spot opened on Morocco- go to Uptrek site to see) - so put your name on the waiting list if you are looking to go to a retreat- many people have come to my retreat from waiting lists!!

I have 5 spots left on my NYC watercolor workshop Dec 4&5 - if interested click here: https://www.ellencrimitrent.com/service-page/nyc-watercolor-workshop-1?referral=service_list_widget

Coming soon I will be announcing a zoom class in October- I am just waiting to hear back from my lovely moderator Romina to see if she is available - the date for this will be October 17th 1-4pm, eastern time- if you miss it you will get the playback. We have so much fun with the zoom classes- I may get stressed when I have tech issues but it all works out!

I am currently looking into workshops for 27' and will be announcing at least one of them soon. While I love to visit every area my Patreons are from its impossible so I pick areas that make sense for both me and you. So stay tuned for the next workshop announcement.

Lastly as Summer is coming to a close- I hope you had some time to rest, relax and unwind with some watercolor painting. As I tell everyone I see who comes to a class or retreat- do not stress over getting it correct- what is important is the journey. Art isn't mean to be stressful and frustrating- it's supposed to be joyful, therapeutic and expressive. If you can just paint with color thats enough, a shape, a object- no one needs to constantly paint a masterpiece- we are not being graded on our abilities we are simply expressing ourselves in a more creative way. There is NO need to get upset when things do not go your way when you are learning a new technique or skill - I did not paint soft skies overnight myself and I have been painting for a very long time!! Give yourself grace, enjoy the process- remember if you want to get better you actually have to practice, practice, practice- and for some it might take a few days, or weeks or even a year- I have some retreat repeats who have evolved in over a few yrs- and happy that although the progress was not instant - there was significant progress!!

Also I read others think they have to keep up with each tutorial I put out- NO- it's always there- move around pick others- this is NOT a race- the tutorials are simply there when you are ready to learn from them!!

Okay folks I need to rest my broken wrist- thanks again for being amazing patreons!!

Super Patreons I will post the live stream info tomorrow for Sunday sept 20 12noon eastern time ! write in comments if this date works for you- I wonder if thurs evening are better??

Enjoy your day!

Ellen

I’m so glad you are getting better. I’m having surgery in early October and will be off work for 12 weeks. I plan to do lots of painting during that time. And I’m so looking forward to the Morocco retreat next April.

So happy your arm is getting better and you are able to use your wrist. I loved the retreat in Almeria and think of it often as I go through your tutorials on line. Your wonderful announcement above and your reminders to have fun and "not freak out". are just what I need. Thanks again, ML

Glad life is moving in the right direction for you! I’m here only from time to time but cherish each video I’m able to explore, seeing micro advancements or ‘a-ha’ moments every time. Something from the first video I watched drew me in. I think it’s your voice outside of your expertise. Here ends my ‘Ellen’ intro. 🌻
