so finding a decent venue in Boston is a nightmare- tons of them in NYC

I was also thinking of changing the date to dec. 2 on a Friday since rentals of studios are much more within budget. 

Also NYC that time might be costly for some but also a great time to see the LIGHTS and decorations. 

 Give me an answer below to see if you can make it!! thanks!!

This would be a fun Xmas workshop- we will work on quick paintings that you can use for gifts like mini ornaments or cards and then  move into a Winter themed painting. I will be going over techniques and watercolor control.

Everything isn't permeant just putting the feel out there- otherwise Workshops will  

happen in 2023. I am trying to find Venus that make sense for those to travel without rental cars etc. so Miami could be one in Winter, and CA- possibly Santa Fe in early Spring -Hell maybe even Aruba - LOL  nothing in Summer as I will be doing retreats back to back then on a family vacation.

BOston venues are a nightmare- cost 10 times more and do not have tables & chairs I need. Maybe in the future I can find a place but for now it’s a no. I wasted days upon days trying to find one in BOston that made sense cost wise and came up empty. I can get places in the burbs but not Beantown.I mean I could do one but the fee would be much higher than 375.00 sadly.

I don't do NYC. I absolutely hate it down there and now with all the crime, I won't go near the place. I am interested in something "south" like maybe Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, W. Palm, Clearwater, etc during the winter. I would love to have a winter hiatus & go somewhere warm and paint!

NYC would be PERFECT for me!! i live on long island so its just the easiest for me to get to. Non-drivable locations are too difficult for me since i can't get myself a rental cause of my age.

I would love to come from LA to NY for a Holiday Workshop - unfortunately too pricey at that time of year. Would love CA or Santa Fe next year.

FYI there is probably more crime in FL than NYC now after the hurricane - I have tons of friends who live and work there ZERO issues.

Cost is a large consideration for me no matter what we do, but I can manage almost anything if given ample time to plan. NYC with short notice is likely a “no go”. I’m not fond of FL but am willing and would probably come. I love the idea of traveling West (I’m on East coast), I’m excited about either of those possibilities. Especially if I’ve got a couple months to make my plans.

Ellen, I REALLY want to go somewhere for a workshop, but wonder if you might want to consider The Outer Banks of NC (specifically Kitty Hawk to Nags Head area). There are a few small to medium event venues and compared to Florida and NYC the cost would probably be cheap. Rooms and housing in “off season” is less than summer and there are several local AirBnBs. Weather in the area is still pleasant in October, variable in November, and can be uncomfortable in December, but there is recently a large tourist presence around the winter holidays, so it must not be too bad. Haha. I would not consider February/March. -October is my favorite time of year - Perhaps contact the Dare County Chamber of Commerce. They are very helpful and might be able to save you some time.

No sorry since it’s not easy for ppl to get to - then it’s renting cars only picking places with good public transport or places Uber is high.

Well I had not thought of that. But you are so right. NO public transport here and the airport is in Norfolk. And u can forget using Uber here. Smh. What was I thinking?

I'd love to go to a workshop anywhere withind driving distance from KY. But I need more plannng time because we tend to have vacations planned out at least 6 months. Can't wait to go to one.

I am super want to participate in one of these, but I'm also going to need time and savings to do so. Have you considered Cape Cod? It's close to you. I'm not sure about space but Cotuit Center for the Arts might be a place.

savings and Cape cod do not go together if I did a workshop in the cape esp in Summer it would cost ppl 1200.00 a day the Venus in the cape are $$$$$$ Also just because ppl see Art centers etc they know about doesn't mean they let other come in and rent them- mostly you have to belong to these places and even then you cannot do them.
