OMG, thanks for this post. Can’t wait to watch it and learn more about mixing colors. Especially greens!

Judy Carl

Great post, especially using the four blues. Good to revisit the basics, learn something new every time.

Susan Bradbury

Good Day Ellen. I have a general question...what are the best watercolor brushes for painting petals? Thank you, Susan

Molly

Thank youSO much! I have the Holbein colors and when I mix, they never have turned out like yours. This was such a gift Ellen! Yay for your wonderful tutorials!

Lori

Thank you, Ellen. This is most helpful!

Judy Fleenor

Excellent demo & very useful! Thank you

Wendi Kendrick

I’ve learned so much!! Just one question, my mind thinks that the darker color should be added to the lighter one - blue added to the yellow. I’m a beginner, and wondering why you add the yellow to the blue? Thanks!!

Ellen W

just what I needed today, greens... i use ds primarily.

CynthiaJQ

Thanks so much, saves on buying a bunch of colors!

DENISE RAINSBERRY

Thank you so much for the extra bonus. I see so many going out and buying a truckload of colors. Hopefully this will help the understanding of mixing without the added expenses!

Michele Immelman

Thank you! As a beginner, this tutorial is so valuable

Barbara Chapman

Love that you are teaching how to mix colors!! Thank you so much for the lesson! I'm really bad at mixing colors, but this explains so much.

Grace Horton

This is vital for learning the range of mixes that can be achieved. Also tells me I can pare down the number of tubes to bring when traveling. A most excellent tutorial!

Barbara Comstock

Thank you for this, Ellen! Greens can be so confounding and you made it easy to see. I also LOVED the "bonus." What a treat. Now to practice . . .

Karen Lin

Loved the bonus! Thanks Ellen!

Mona Lafleur

Learned so so much from doing the Greens… and then of course learned more w/ the bonus info. Thanks so much.

Donna Ulrich

Thank you for this! It as very enlightening!

Carlie Saranthus

You teach such a great variety of different mediums. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Debra Eudy

Thank you for this so much. This was very helpful and I’m sure I will refer to this over and over and over!

Bonnie Grove

When painting with oils, I had another art teacher tell me to mix black and yellow to make green... and it was the most beautiful green! Thank you for this. Q: your purples were so vibrant - would you also mix your purples, instead of taking it straight from the tube?

Lynne Larsen-Miller

Thank you so great! I watch and paint watch and paint. And… for a very unartistic person I am getting better.

Linda Healey

Great job! I learn so much making these progressive charts. I’m waiting for turquoise and cobalt blue to arrive. Don’t have Prussian blue yet.

Jann Merrill

That was fabulous! That took the scariness out of color mixing. You made it a no brainer! I am putting the pan paints away.
