Kevin McCoy

One of your best videos, and with a great message. Totally worth the wait. I especially liked the underscoring. Thanks for all your hard work.

Eric Wellbrock

That was pretty heavy. A new direction on that one.

John R Folsom

I really enjoy supporting you, Capt'n. Upped my pledge after watching.

Matt Curley

Great video CD! Any chance of an upload of the song being used around 3:15? Also, your "Keep making whatever you like to make." quote from the Mirror Ball episode really stuck with me and whenever you try something new on your channel I am always really excited and impressed.

I'M IN A CAPTAIN DISILLUSION VIDEO!!!!!!!!

Anonymous

So what I'm getting from this video is that Captain took the money we gave him this month all so he could afford that new velour jacket. Then he purposefully makes this video to dissuade people from digging and asking questions, meaning that there was no Zeitgeist. It was the Captain all along, creating the persona of Zeitgeist as a way to justify embezzling Patreon funds to buy the jacket AND discourage people from asking questions. You might have everybody else fooled, but I'm not falling for it.

Taz's lawyer

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Quality over quantity! Thank you for the new video.

Kevin Frear

Great video and well worth the extra wait! I really liked the overall message and the effects were fantastic. Looking forward to seeing some tutorials from this one!

Netheus

Amazing video! Love your stuff so freaking much.

Danielle Davis

As always, we loved it. Great video, and keep em coming. This is my favorite time of the month or so.

So, we come to the end of this

Honestly, at first I was a little bummed that I didn't get to see one of your brilliant debunkings. But after considering it, this is way more important. And very very well done. Congratulations, sir.

Wow. Thoroughly enjoyed that video! Please keep it up!

Gary Leigh

Eh... wall still needs a lick of paint.

Thank you! Although I do original score for my videos sometimes, this time I had no time/stamina, so all of that is stock music. But picking and timing all the right pieces took effort :)

I didn't have time or willpower left in me to create original score for this video so everything after the alligator segment is various stock music. That one is a modified version of a track called "Deadline for Duty" by composer Amotz Plessner. The full mix had some huge drums and choir, but it was a bit too much even for my video :P So I toned it down to what you hear.

Thanks! Maybe the tutorial should be How to Not Curl Up Into a Ball and Cry When Faced With Rotoscoping Thousands of Frames :P

Thanks! I promise the next one will be a nice, simple to-the-point deconstruction of a specific effect. It'll be a while before I torture myself with something like this again :P

Brian Coule

Haven't seen that Fellini scene since cinema studies in college... Still just as powerful an idea. Great video and message, cap! It's nice to hear someone else say what I'm thinking.

GeekDad & GeekMom

Another masterwork. This one may not quite be right for the kiddies, but it's a powerful message. Also, feels like Zeitgeist should be another character from Neil Gaiman's "American Gods."

Ali

Wow that was quite a poignant video, Cap! Thanks for putting in so much hard work to get the video up for our viewing pleasure.

Ali

Oh also, more HOLLY! Please? :D

Aaron

u ok bud?

Hoder Erroneus Jensen

Woooav! That was brilliant! Not every video has to be debunk-mania, this was a very nice change of pace with a great message.

No prob! It still sounded really good and I started to get hyped once the music built. Thanks for the info.

Coleman Watts

Agree about the important message about facts over fads. Pardon my ignorance but why did this one require so much manual rotoscoping that couldn't be done with green screens?

CaptainDisillusion

Well, we had a green screen, but it was a smaller, portable one that didn't always cover all of me when the camera did big moves. And the reason we had to use a portable green screen is because the continuity of the makeup changing required us to keep switching between regular room shots and green screen shots. So it needed to be popped in and out quickly at various angles.

Kelly Young

Bravo! I friggen LOVE the idea (and execution) of Zeitgeist as CD's nemesis! Maybe we'll get to see them fight in a future episode? So cool! And that makeup is rad!

Kelly Young

Also, congratulations on surpassing 200,000 followers on your channel only a couple months after hitting 100,000!

Charlie Deets

Thanks for helping spread a positive thoughtful message in an entertaining way.
