February 2020 Trailer - Abyss Demons Set (Patreon)

Hello friends, and welcome to all the newcomer!
We are really happy to show you what we have been working on the last 15 days!
Now it's time for us to start actually transform these "half-gigabyte sculpts" into proper light STL, starting the testprint phase and correct the issue that might happens between a print and the other.
As always, the plan is to finish the sculpting phase before day 20 to have enough time to test and makes adjustments... honestly we didn't think we could finish it in time, those sculpting nights have surely helped!

The Abyss Demons Set will be live day 3 February

With the new year plan of +2 modulars, all-modular heroes and 1 Scatter Terrain the sets are looking really big, we can't wait to see the combinations you'll obtain mixing models and equipments!


Double Pinup month: meet the Lust Demons Vanos & Aya

If we have to make a male pinup, this was really the month to do that! Succubus and their male counterpart are really useful in most tabletop games, so not only we have 2 Pinups in february (lady and guy): both also come in their alternative "hidden form" version,without horns and wings. There's a third version of the female Lust Demon Aya, a topless demon version.
This is really the exception, we are not going to make a male pinup during another month ;)

There's definitely not enough space to show all the variants and the modular options (and weapons), so here a brief summary of the set.

The mount reminds me of a baby cat learning to pounce. Or someone jokingly going Boo. The abyss guardian with tentacles looks a bit misplaced, like it is sea based or something. Succubus looks good, especially like the pg(ish) version. Portals are cool.

I think the tentacles look OK. The sculpt reminds me of the Draeni from WOW, and they had nothing to do with the sea. In fact, Draeni ARE of demonic origin, so I think the tentacles are totally appropriate. :)

Yeah, meant more from a theme feel with the rest. Feels out of place due to no other figures with a similar feature. If the grunts, mount, or maybe a weapon had similar features to tie in, it would feel part of them.

I think you guys nailed it. The sculpts and poses are excellent...especially the far right smaller modular demon that's running...he looks half crazed and that's spot on. The portal is super and I like that you're offering a version without the magic swirl because that makes it more versatile as scatter. Awesome job guys...can't wait to get my hands on these! :)

In DnD terms they are tieflings, not demons. Would've loved to see an ape-demon or a fly-demon... but I am not going to complain about a perfect set of tieflings either. Great job!

A lot of them look reasonably similar to the Baatezu demon pictures in my 2E Monsterous Manual, which was before Tieflings were introduced.

I know this is probably a LOT to ask, bit for the demon pointing and holding the flag, is there a way we can get a variant with just a gnarled staff instead of a flag? He looks very spell caster to me and would love to have him with a staff instead. Thanks for reading this rediculous request.

I usually don't like demons, but your work help me to change my opinion ! They are just perfect ! Congratulations ! Just one question : is the terrain with the vortex will come in two parts ? Printing the vortex in transparent resin (green or red !) and the rest of the terrain in grey can be absolutely gorgeous ;-) !

Devil with Beards had been hugely requested so we wanted to give at least one of the major modulars a fancy tentacle beard :) I didn't know about wow tentacles, looks like they draw inspiration from the popular tabletop rpg too! Being modular you can just mirror it a print 4-5 bearded demons with many different weapons and bases

Pretty sure that's one of the modular minis, which means the hands (and what they're holding) are interchangeable. Which means you could find a suitable staff (from this set, another set, or somewhere else entirely) and swap it out.

our sculpts are around 5-15 million polys each one (super heavy!) but we optimize the mesh to the maximum to obtain around 180K - 250K polys each.

If you are a patron this month there's Uldar weapon (coming also as standalone weapon to insert anywhere in your slicer) that is a gnarled staff :)

Any chance they'd be willing to share their print settings and give advice? Especially on printing with non-resin printers? The ogres were easy to orient, slice and print, but the goblins are giving me a lot of trouble.

It looks like it might be possible to print the whole thing in transparent resin and paint the rest opaque, without it being too obvious... worth a try, at least :)

It should be possible to drop both models into your favourite 3D modelling software (I like Blender, it's free), and then use the empty portal as a boolean modifier to remove everything except the portal swirly bit from the other one. If the gemoetry is complex then your computer might struggle, but it's worth a try.

I will say it's a bummer hearing that you guys won't ever be making a male pinup again. I'm all for sexy ladies but it really is cool and refreshing to see male characters getting the same treatment. It would also make for making taverns be a bit more "lively" if you know what I mean.

One area where there is a big gap in the miniature market is regular guardsmen and soldiers - I'd personally love to see a set expanded on that, I really need some nice city guard minis for my games!

Is there a tier that i can join or a way to buy all the models? I'm not interested in selling them, but i am active in 3 D&D campaigns and i make the mini's for all of them lol. The Artisan's Guild mini's are the best ones i've found! i have purchased a few on myminifactory but it seams easier just to get everything in one shot.

No there is no tier such as this. But if you join the patreon you will get a discount for the myminifactory shop. For most sets it's 20% I think and for the epic bosses it's even 50%. Watch out on Kickstarter campaigns the last one provides a huge amount of miniatures for only 50$ 😉

Any chance we may one day see an alternate pose for some of these pinups? Something less dynamic and more standing or striding?

It look awesome, as always! Love the double gender pinups! Just in case Creators need some ideas for becoming races, what about dragonborn, gnomes, halflings or catfolks? Also, it would be great if we could have a little more variety in the models "classes". Usually we have a lot of "warriors", but there are little casters or stalkers or non from other classes like clerics, bards or monks for example. I know some of this classes won't fix in all the races, but in the ones it do, would be great if we could have some of them.

Same, there's not quite enough man meat minis, and I know my players will be elated to finally have a mini for the incubus they summon routinely for comic relief.
