Oh my, this was heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. I almost wanted to scream at the end that it wasn't how I wanted it to end but it was perfect!

This was definitely more of a safe ending. I was thinking about doing an alternative ending if I have the time… Maybe!

Amentio

I was so worried about how this would end. I was invested to know. And this ending is more than satisfying for me. It feels extremely human and down to earth, and realizing what the next steps are. Thank you Moon, this audio was wonderful to listen to and receive closure.

This continuation is part of what got me to become a Patron after hearing the first part on YouTube. Wasn't expecting to get the heart broken first time out. It's a very realistic conclusion, but ouch.

Hi CaterDawn. This story was definitely controversial, and I was worried about how it would end myself. I agree, this ending is very realistic. I'm glad that you found it satisfying; though next time, I think I'll explore a more adventurous route., one that is both satisfying and unpredictable.

MoonBerryAudio

Sorry about that! I played it safe with this ending. Looking back, I wish I had explored a more adventurous ending, but you live and you learn. I plan to post a continuation to another audio soon. Perhaps I'll play around a bit more with that ending to make up for this heartbreaking one.

I hate this ending, because it's so realistic. Real life is hardly ever as satisfying as all of these audios normally are. I appreciate having such a true to life audio, but man does this actually rip my heart out more than if listener were to just have refused to come on the trip

Can we meet these characters again -- after a few years have passed? I would dearly dearly love to hear a happier ending.

If I found out how my best friend treated her, it would likely be the beginning of the end of him being my best friend and possibly an end to the friendship entirely. I've had a close friend who blamed the victim of a horrible action he did in the past before I knew him and a best friend who was abusive to his spouse, among other things. Both were unrepentant and in denial. It destroyed the closeness of our friendship pretty quickly. I could no longer relate to them. Him going on this trip means that he must have been in love with her too. If not, he should have not gone on the trip, and it makes the ending meaningless because there was no possibility anyway. In similar circumstances, I'm not sure I could have let her go. This whole don't date my exes rule is childish. I want my past loves, even the ones who broke my heart, to be happy and find someone. If it happen to be my best friend, as long as nothing was going on while we were together, I would be sad, but I would find a way to accept it. In these circumstances, there would have been no betrayal. His best friend is toxic and immature, and has not only ruined his own relationship, he's ruined one for his best friend. Continuing to have people like that in our lives seems to be a form of enabling.
