Also, I’ve been getting whiplash from the change in styles of her music lol (in a good way). I love how she can go from country pop, mainstream pop, traditional country, soft rock, and even folk.

I agree, beautiful film. This was released on Valentine’s Day and it was something I desperately needed to hear lol

Drew

I voted for this one! Hehe

Claudia Pinillos

I love this project and EP so much. Also, we’re obviously not fans of her ex but if you read the lyrics to his song Over For You you’ll see that she’s calling back to it in a couple of the songs.

Ashleigh

yessssss would love more kelsea content!!!

Claudia Pinillos

I see leave me again as directed to both. She wants him to get all those things that maybe he missed/didn’t have during the relationship, but for herself, she just hopes she never leaves herself again.

Claudia Pinillos

You have to check out her SNL performances. Both are so good! But, she also does an added outro on Blindsided which is also very much pointed at her ex.

100% i feel that first verse could be both ,but that 2nd one is him

if you want more details/tea on their relationship kels was on call her daddy and she spilled her truth on it. awesome listen

i would love to see you react to more kelsea content. she did a feature on fletcher's song better version and it was beautiful. i remember watching your first reaction to her kelsea album and waiting for more and now we finally got some! the ballerini version was like the sadder version of most of the songs which i liked better than the original and maybe you would too if you gave it a chance

Lucy

I am so excited you watched this!!! I was literally just thinking earlier that I would love to see your reaction. Also, just a note: when she says in penthouse “it hurts knowing you got half”, it’s because he got half of their house in the divorce (the house that Kelsea paid for). If you want more context her interview for the Call Her Daddy podcast was really good.

Also, I personally think in leave me again, the verses are all about her ex husband but she’s saying “I hope you have everything you wanted but what matters most to me is that I don’t lose myself to give you all of that”. Not sure if that makes sense but that’s how I interpret it

Ashley Kinney

So happy you reacted to this! I love that Kelsea is finally getting the recognition she deserves!!!

Kelli Miller

Kelsea commented that the toast was a metaphor for her being the breadwinner Lolol

Allison Schleicher

I'm so glad you reacted to this. I think this EP is some of her best songwriting and the visuals are beautiful. They got engaged after 6 months of dating, he moved into her house. You should check out her performance on SNL. She changes a couple of the lines in "Blindsided". He put a song out when the divorce was first announced called 'Over for you' (which she references in 'Mountain with a view') basically saying, 'how long has it been over for you, when you said you loved me when you didn't mean it. I would've searched the world for you'. He's been putting the bulk of the divorce on her. In the SNL performance she says "you're singing the songs on the radio you couldn't say to my face, would've searched the whole world over, yeah sure ok". Just iconic

Kassie King

Love that you watched this project! Her ex is Morgan Evans who is an Australian country singer, so she is talking to him in the last song "Leave Me Again" (also Jane is his sister). Also right after they split before the divorce was finalized he released a song called "Over For You" which basically said "When was it over for you?" acting like he was blindsided and it really pissed her off which is where "Blindsided" came from and also the lyrics "this is when it's over for me" in the first track. She did an interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast that went way more in depth into the relationship. If you liked this, you might also like Carly Pearce's album "29: Written in Stone." She's also a country artist and good friends with Kelsea (they co-wrote some songs) and she got divorced a few years ago to a douche nugget country artist Michael Ray. It's definitely more country than Kelsea's project but the lyrics are A+++. Also I know you didn't love Kacey Musgraves "Golden Hour" album but her most recent release was also a kind of divorce album and came with it's own short film too! It's also less country than her previous work.
