The marketing for this film made it look like the actors really disappeared filming this and many people sent letters to their families 😭

OMG was not expecting this, this is a good one, can't wait to watch in a bit

I've heard a theory that there may not be a witch and the two guys murdered the girl. That all the strange things that happen in the woods were set up by them to mess with her. There is a really good youtube video about it from Film Theory.

Mannygogou

hey have you seen CLOVERFIELD (2008)? There are these friends at a party having a good time and wait, what's that? Something is happening... huh? There's something very wrong going on outside... quick everyone go!! 😮😊 😲

The Gamer's Club

do you think you'll react to evil dead rise when it comes out on dvd?

Kaitlin Hilton

sad that it was more annoying than scary, and for a barely there reveal too

Yes, that's why I love this movie so much! The first time I watched it, I was a teen and home alone. Now, my dad had one of those big home entertainment systems with a big screen and big surround speakers all around the living room. And back then we were living in a house at the edge of a small town, a bit isolated and just on the edge of the woods. So...it was very immersive!

I love your videos <3 I'm glad you chose this film. Very nostalgic. Saw it for the first time as a teenager and it almost made me pee my panties . I hope you will also watch the second part of Blair Witch. Or what I also found quite entertaining was "Unfriended" or "Truth or Dare", "Grave Encounters". I can also highly recommend the Fear Street series by Leigh Janiak. The series has 3 parts and are really good even if they are a bit older.

nooo.. honey, the most recent blair project is SOOOOO much better, pleaaase watch it🥺 it’s one of my fav movies of all time! it’s so much better than this one

This is the kind of horror movie that creeps me out after it’s over, rather than getting scared during the movie. Does that make sense lol

I was in high school when this came out and the way they marketed this movie was touted as real and we all believed it at first. Eduardo Sanchez is a beast of a horror director. You must watch his found footage on Big Foot. It's called Exists! It's good if you're into cryptozoology. Anyways, can't wait to watch this with my scary movie pal!

I do like this movie for what it is. It was ambitious in its objective but so simple in its execution. The acting is really good, all the anger was great and very unsettling. I like we don't have a lot of jump scares but the construction of the whole fear atmosphere was amazing. I like what you said about the connection between what happened at the end and the kids' situation. I always think that the scream was like the thing that happened before in the woods when they were "hearing Josh" but it seemed it was not him, like as if the witch was playing with them, mimicking each other.

The film theory behind this is SOOOO good

So here is a weird thing: when seeing your YT video pop up, I thought to myself "Oh yeah, awesome! I watched someone react to this just a few days ago and now I can see Caitlin's full reaction and enjoy the whole movie on Patreon!" - and then I realized that I *didn't* watch someone else, I watched your full reaction on Patreon. I don't remember watching the whole movie with you at all! I think I've been working too much and sleeping too little, seriously.

I thought that too. I told my fried "I bet t hey took that annoying bitch out to the woods and killed her then went to Mexico"

Patryk Walenczak

This is one of my favorite movies❤️ you should watch Skinamarink and Hereditery next 💀

It definitely got found footage on the map, but the McPherson Tapes predates the Blaire Witch by like ten years or so. What about Cannibal Holocaust? Not strictly Found Footage but a cousin of the genre for sure. There was another one with news reporters that got lost out in the woods, but I'm drawing a blank on the name... Either way, found footage has a long and interesting history and I do believe The Blaire Witch Project stands up. It still creeps me out to this day.

Yep. That's what makes it and others like it so good. After the movie, if you have to reach your hand into the dark bathroom to turn the lights on so you can safely go into pee, then the movie was good!!!

She reacted to MidSommar and she was very unsettled by it. I believe that's made her afraid to react to anything else done by Ari Aster. Of his two films, Hereditary is so much better and I'm afraid she might never watch it now!!!

Can never say no to a JJ Abram's production!!! The director Matt Reeves did Let Me In which was legend as far as vampire movies go!

So much of this movie is so good. This was the movie that had me going down rabbit holes for years - between the different theories, the production behind the movie, and the fact that Heather (the actress) only did this movie and ended up a weed farmer. I had a shitty little VHS tape as a kid that I would go back and forth on trying to see any kind of clue as to what the fuck was going on. My favorite theory is still that Josh and Mike came out to kill Heather, only for shit to go south.

PlumDutchess

I used to watch this movie all the time. Funny thing is, I never realised the kids disappearing happened in the 20th century. I always thought it was at least a few centuries ago.

Kat Watches Horror Movies actually did a video where she watches this Blair Witch in the woods. I just thought it was funny you mentioned maybe doing that. She also watched Jaws while in a body of water in a tube.
