Unreal! I loved this so much I just watched this this afternoon for my second time! Shoot, third times a charm if it's with my scary movie pal. I'm pretty sure Sam Raimi produced this (context: He directed the first two). It has his feel all over it. Alyssa Sutherland made the best Deadite ever!

I looooved this movie! The cast is amazing, the phisicality of the actress playing The mom is soooo impressive, she was great in this and everyone else also. The Little kid was remarkable and I loved how They built their relationship and family and just turned the intensity up since the start. Also, one of the greatest title cards!! For me, the most disturbing scene was Bridge eating the glass. That just threw my disguss up for New highs hahah

The 2013 Evil Dead still holds a special place in my heart, but I still enjoyed this one. IMO there aren’t any bad Evil Dead movies.

yeah honestly the entire cast was great! and the GYMNASTICS that ellie was doing was ferrying 😭 and totally agree on the title card. so good.

god this movie was so fun. always love seeing your commentary! fun fact; the cat lived because of audience influence: "ultimately, though, the thing I've learned is that people fucking hate if you do anything to animals. It literally turns people off your movie" (<-the director) other movies where the cats live (if you want)(kinda not really spoilers): Alien, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, American Psycho, Slumber Party Massacre, Black Christmas (1974, although the 2006 one is pretty okay)

Does anyone else think the demon voice sounds like Owen Wilson? The actress is Australian, so I think she unintentionally put a slight twang in the line “Mommy’s with the maggots now” lol

As I sit here watching Caitlin shout that the Necronomican has bugs on it and not to remove its shroud, it reminded me of Drag Me To Hell. Another Sam Raimi classic I hope we get to check out.

Aaaand this immediately goes on my favorites list! Apart from the somewhat goofy eyeball scene and the one thing they kind of stole a little bit from Hereditary (possessed mother furiously knocking on the door with her head instead of her fists), this is probably the best horror film I've seen in a few years now.
