I've done it and at a hotel no less. It's a crappy job but some one has to do it.

We had to clean ours out too. At first we thought we were doing it wrong, but then we called a septic company that told us it was the worst they'd ever seen. It was so compacted. They said it seemed like it'd never been maintenanced before. Even with their heavy duty equipment, it took a few hours when he said normally it's about an hour!

That is a perfect example of why I'm glad to be on city sewer. That's the good thing about the house my partner and I are buying. I mean it's about the only good thing. Everything else is taking apart faster than I can fix it. Wouldn't trade a thing.
