Update 7 Progress & Lighting Discussion (Patreon)
Content
Hey everybody. This is my first progress report for the next update, and I have a TON to talk about, so let's get into it. First, here's where I am right now in the update:
Write Scenes - 13/15 (87%) - Close to being done with these. I have two somewhat difficult scenes left to write, but I expect to be done with them by next week.
Render Images - 105/282 (37%) - 282 is not the final number of images in the update, so expect that to change. Still, moving along on these.
Render Animations - 5/18 (28%) - I don't expect to add any more animations, so 18 should be right there.
Write Dates - 2/4 (50%) - This is mostly coding the dates into the game, and I haven't started coding quite yet. These are fairly easy and quick to do though.
Write Replayable Sex Scenes - 8/8 (100%) - Of course, I managed to get all the sex stuff done first. Why wouldn't I?
Write Conversations - 19/57 (33%) - Moving along on these. There's a ton of them, so I'm mostly writing them on spiral notebook while watching tv and such in the evening.
Functions - 2/6 (33%) - The functions here tend to be simple things. The two I completed are that I have changed the way that Mari's dates work, so that you can take her on dates in the morning or the evenings on weekdays now, and the second is that I added the replayable sex scenes as an option at the end of good dates. Remaining functions are adding reba to the phone, removing money from the game, removing the suit from the game, and adding date-specific clothing (which is probably not going to completely get done in this update).
Total Completion - 53%Estimated Release Date - February 26thI'm pretty happy with how this update is progressing. I have a few difficult scenes ahead, but have been rolling along at a pretty steady pace and the update is looking very good. So let's talk about the other thing that I've been working on a lot.
Lighting
I mentioned in the roadmap that I'm planning on remaking much of the renders in the game. That's kind of always been the plan. I started this game without really knowing much about what I was doing and planned on revising it as I went along. Now we're to that point where I feel like I can make the game look better, starting with the lighting. I'm just going to show you some comparisons of the types of changes I'm working on. The Old version is on top, new version on bottom in all these images. I hope that you all will like these improvements. This will be an ongoing process that will likely not be finished in this update. I'm working on getting a new video card that will help speed up the process significantly, but mostly, it's just going to take hard work and time to go into each of the scenes (or rebuild the scenes in some cases) and change up the lighting and camera angles and such. I'll show you more of these type of previews as we continue the process.
Final Thoughts
I could probably keep rambling for hours, so let's cut this off here. Let me know what you all think. Love ya and can't wait to share more with you on the next update.
