Hey, Manticores!

I've gotten your feedback (and some other folks') and I'm working on getting a Discord server for my channel set up! I'm planning on having Patreon-tier-exclusive channels (so one channel that's available for patrons only, one that's available for Cubs and up, etc), but I'm new to this kind of thing, so here's my question for y'all:

What kind of setup, structure, and stuff would you like to see in a So Okay Here's the Thing Discord?

TL;DR because i realized i wrote way too much: Announcements & Uploads with opt-in able pings, Rules, General chat, one Voice channel, and a suggestions channel that lets members help build the discord. You probably already knew all of that, so follow your gut and do what you think will work, and then fix it later if problems arise! It is heavily dependent on if you plan to make it patron only, since lower member count and the fact that people pay to be there tends to lower chances of anarchists posting whatever. If you do this, you may not even need a rules channel. You seem to imply that you want to make a discord server for the whole community, an that tends to be A LOT more difficult. For starters, posting when you upload and pinging people that selected a role that gets pinged is a good thing. Rules are practically necessary. Personally I prefer when the channel count is low, but most discords have separate channels for fanart and pictures and general chat and so on. This can be good for moderation purposes and ease if finding things directed to you. Voice chats tend to be unnecessary, maybe have 1 or 2. After you have basic rules in place, the absolute best way to build a discord is to open a suggestions channel, and let community members give ideas on what channels are missing and such. Structuring and filtering the suggestions tend to be the hard part. If the member count is low than you don't need much. The more people you get, Start using slow mode on a really high timer (this forces them to write 1 big suggestion that hangs together), maybe have suggestions open at specific times, so that you are there to read them all, and finally you can resort to using a bot that allows people to upvote and downvote suggestions, and lets you filter them so you see the highest ones.
