So we’re doing that, like, knights of truth and justice against an evil paladin empire thing for this campaign, right? Can’t wait to see y’all’s characters.

Nat

I’m actually playing a former member of that evil empire. I’m a Acolyte background Dragonborn Oathbreaker Paladin.

MMS

Ooh, interesting. Saw the light and became pals with the good guys, huh?

Nat

Ha, if only it were so easy — see, my character was a high-ranking member of his holy order, totally devoted to the cause, and it was only after finding out that his people were being lied to that he rebelled against his former rulers.

MMS

That’s much more involved than your backstories usually are, I’m impressed.

I think my character is a pretty cool guy. Variant Human Banneret Fighter, Soldier background. He’s got the Lucky feat, and that Ring of Mind Shielding I asked you if I could have?

MMS

The one with the soul of the Aasimar in it?

Trish

Yeah, that one. The Aasimar communicates with him, helps him out with stuff.
