Hey gang!

Tonight, you guys are getting insight that I’m not sharing with the rest of YouTube… In today’s video I talk about my seven years at the ashram. For the most part, I very much downplay the amount of trauma I endured and the nightmarish, cultish nature of this community… Or at least how it turned out to be.

Since this week we’re focusing on loving compassion… I want to show you how we can be objective about someone’s wrongdoings, but still treat them with respect and kindness. They did a lot of wrong to me, but I have worked hard to still hold love and compassion for them. I hope this inspires you on your journeys!

Namaste, Kae

Why I spent 7 YEARS! living in an ashram

From 21-28 years old, I lived full-time in a residential yogic community. Each morning began with 5:30am meditation...and the responsibilities and expectations continued from there. In today's video, I share my experience living in an ashram, what it gave me, its challenges, why I chose such an austere life, and why I ultimately left. 🌐My Website: http://ecstaticself.com 📘My self-guided, spiritual adventure book: http://amazon.com/author/kaestrouse 📿Go deeper with this work on Patreon: http://patreon.com/ecstaticself 📸Find me on Insta: @selfecstatic 🐥Find me on Twitter/Facebook/Medium: EcstaticSelf #ecstaticself #yogiclife #ashramlife

Thank you, Kae, for opening yourself up with such trust. I am glad that I will have the opportunity to absorb this either later tonight or tomorrow. But given your written comment, I wanted to recognize promptly and with gratitude your willingness to be vulnerable. Namaste. Blessings and love to you.
