Episode 497 is one of my all time favorites The feel good vibes are off the roof and the childlike wonder the 3 of them share is so contagious. The treehouse is a kid's dream for sure. What kills me most is Dadan caring about them and looking out for them. When she notices Luffy is not well covered, it literally breaks my heart❤️😭cuz these devils reward her in the funniest way possible That dream sequence is also hilarious

Was always odd that Ace was designed with a crossed out letter on his tattoo so the brainstorming on its meaning is really fun to watch.

The mayor always looked like a much older Mr. 3 to me, and he never seems to have an established VA either. Nearly every time he's appeared he's got a different actor. In this flashback he's voiced by Buggy's VA.

This episode is not even all manga canon, it's anime canon but it's good. There are more episodes like this in this arc but I won't say which ones because they add a lot of value to the story even if not everything was in the manga.

Man this flashback making me nostalgic for a childhood I never had lmao.

You’re the goats for releasing two uncuts today to catch up 🥹

Actually, "AS" is how we say "ACE" in Portuguese when referring to playing cards.

tavuntu

I love that Ponyo sweater.

Gobbo

I agree, anime added stuff can be pretty good sometimes

ImZeaT

Also in French and Spanish + German and Italian which begin with As

The tattoo means something, don't wanna spoil it, but look it up after this arc.. One piece green secret pieces, its the fourth databook, which released in 2010..

The bathtub scene is a good example I like to use often for the explanation of devil fruit users' weakness to water. Since it's any kind of water, and more importantly about how submerged the user is, Luffy can splash himself with it no issues, same for showers and rain. And according to a previous SBS i forwarded a while ago, Df users suffer lessened effects when half their body is under. Fully submerged is KO tho. Basically, the amount of body submerged is the key difference.

These episodes are so precious, the added anime canon is really worth watching for this one.
