Sanji Joestar

Sentomaru coming back with respect for Luffy's strength, even as an enemy, is such a nice touch.

Sanji Joestar

I think you were thinking of Usopp attacking Kuma in Thriller bark and him calling him Sogeking. Also Sentomaru calls Kizaru uncle in a yakuza/mafia way.

Sanji Joestar

The current OP playing as Luffy destroys the Pacifista is peak comeback !!! Rayleigh like a proud dad ! WE GO !!

Manthan Shah

i have never seen these two this excited. i am very happy you guys are enjoying this. TO THE NEW WORLD.

Meira

I feel like crying to see Luffy smile again after everything that happened to him.

Degenerick

this is one of my top 10 favorite episodes of the series

Degenerick

i hate to ask but will you be watching the fan letter after 522?

Vasco Pires

Straight up impossible to not smile the whole episode

slowchem

current opening has a slide of fishman island characters, once all of them are introduced, you guys can watch it (after Episode 531) song name is "We go!" by Kitadani Hiroshi who also wrote/sang the iconic goosebumpy OG "We are!"

Matthew Gilroy

From what we've seen so far: While it is true that Zoro fights the 2nd strongest opponent and Sanji fights the 3rd strongest, it is also true that Sanji has a considerably easier time defeating his opponent while Zoro struggles a bit more. I am referring to their biggest fights: Zoro vs Mr 1, and Sanji vs Mr 2 Zoro vs Kaku (power 2200) Sanji vs Jabra (power 2180)

Kiki Varas

I hope they do. 🙌

Artemis

This is a great episode because it’s a return to form for the main character, seeing him energized, enthuasistic and excited about the adventures ahead after suffering all the misery during the WB war. Time to put the past behind you and move forward!

Artemis

The song you heard in this episode is called "We Go" by Hiroshi Kitadani, the same group that sang "we are". Also "We Are" is the main opening theme for the first part of the series, and its replacement with "We Go!" signifies the story moving beyond the initial stages.

Isaac Sato

He might have also been thinking about right before the Straw Hats got scattered, and one of the Pacifistas scanned Usopp and it said "Sogeking" on his HUD

Sonicluis

Yes but the power scale of kaku was before his devil fruit and Mr 1 is way stronger than mr 2. You needed haki for 1

Matthew Gilroy

Where was it stated that Mr 1 was way stronger than Bon Clay? Also, when did Zoro use Armament haki? We watching the same show?😂

Dreamknight942

Yessss I get teary eyed every time at the end with Luffy and Rayleigh

Dancing Viru

I think it doesn't matter who's the stronger one between Zoro & Sanji; imo it's more important to note that for Sanji fighting is 2ndary, while for Zoro it's his primary focus. That's why I think Zoro was against Sanji sacrificing himself at Thriller Bark. It's super rare to find cooks like Sanji, but there are plenty of fighters who pursue fighting, that Luffy could pick up along the way.

Oussama Essamadi

The song, the dodge, the "too slow", the one shot. Perfection! Love this episode, really feels like the first episode after the timeskip. A true back to form. Crazy how one Pacefista took everything from the entire crew to take down and now each of the trio can simply one shot it and not even look at the explosion.

beannie

I could cry any day just by seeing luffy smile ngl, your feelings are very valid Carson🙏

Matthew Gilroy

Sanji is one of the best characters in One Piece. Definitely the best out of the Strawhats in terms of writing

Veritas

It is retroactively clear that Zoro bypassed the Dice-Dice Devil Fruit using Haki when he heard the rhythm/voice of steel, it's called subtext. He didn't use it consciously though.

Matthew Gilroy

No. the 'rhythm' allowed him to dodge the falling pieces of building. This has been theorised to be an application of OBSERVATION haki. Nothing to do with Zoro cutting steel👍🏽

Sanji Joestar

@sonicluis The Doriki system is said to not take in count the powers of devil fruits So it's not a factor since both of their numbers would be different then. Luffy was already breaking steel in the East Blue(Buggy's dagger, Arlong's saw) before fighting Crocodile for example. I doubt he wouldn't be able to defeat Mr1 even without Armament so that's not a requirement.

Veritas

Yet the whole point of his flashback with Koshiro was that a true swordsman can choose what to cut or not cut using will, and afterwards Zoro vowed to try to recreate the power. It feels like an obvious application of Armament because Zoro clearly couldn't cut Daz in their fight until the end no matter how hard he tried. The whole thing was so spiritual so I thought it common knowledge Zoro used both Hakis. Not everything needs to be explicit.

Matthew Gilroy

1. It is not common knowledge that Zoro used both hakis. It is a niche theory within the diehard fandom that Zoro MAYBE used OBSERVATION haki to dodge the rocks, not defeat Daz Bones. 2. You're proving my point that Zoro had a WAY harder time defeating Mr 1 than Sanji had with Mr 2

Veritas

The power argument was never my intended topic, I choose to never agree or disagree with those. My point is that Occam's Razor in One Piece is often Haki which everyone possesses and was written in because it bypasses Devil Fruits. It is a super common theory from my pov for years based on his obvious dialogue of "his WILL flowing into his sword."

Matthew Gilroy

So what was your intended topic then? Because everyone else here is talking about power😂

Veritas

You asked someone when Zoro used Armament and I meant to correct you based on theory. If you genuinely don't believe it, that's fine, but you presumed what I replied to.

Matthew Gilroy

You know why that's not armament on the blade though, don't you? Can't explain due to spoilers

Veritas

I can't be 100% so I 'll let it be 🙌

Hisoka

After episode 522 one piece fan letter MUST !!!! MUST WATCH

Allain Gumapon

In terms of who is stronger between Sanji and Zoro, I do agree with Carson that Zoro is stronger. Simply because Sanji provides other benefits to the crew other than just fighting. Sanji is the chef of the crew but he is also smart and strategically gifted. In fact, all my favourite Sanji moments don't include any of his fights; when he pretended to be Mr. Prince when talking to Crocodile, shutting down Enel's ship and closing the Gates of Justice back at Ennies Lobby. If Sanji was a strong as Zoro then that kinda defeats the whole purpose of Zoro within the crew since the biggest thing that Zoro brings to the crew is his fighting prowess, and being the Vice-Captain.

Matthew Gilroy

Zoro's purpose within the crew is the swordsman. Simple as that. Just because Sanji provides other benefits as well as strength doesn't mean Zoro is stronger. The portrayal of the 2 characters when it has come to the major fights so far DOES NOT insinuate that Zoro is stronger. Zoro has a hard time fighting the 2nd strongest, while Sanji has an easier time fighting the 3rd strongest

Christian

Shame this won’t be on the reaction tier list. S tier stuff right here lol

ChocoBoshi

It makes me so happy that you guys are having such strong emotional reactions to these cathartic moments in the series. Everybody talks about how One Piece hits you in the feels with peoples sad backstories but the moments like these where everyone is finally getting back together again just give you this sort of nostalgic and hopeful feeling that I've rarely been able to experience in any other series.

Ty

The strawhats are sooo back

fia

caribou 😾😾

fia

sentomaru 😸😸

Cheddah Slammer

I want to point out those examples don't entirely prove your points. They just prove that Sanji might be more strategic then Zoro. Like Zoro never thought about closing the Gates of Justice in Ennis Lobby because he was focused on fighting all those marines. Those scenes defiantly don't show that Zoro is stronger then Sanji, or that Sanji is Stronger then Zoro.

Cheddah Slammer

I think the reason Zoro didn't want Sanji to sacrifice himself is because he actually cares for Sanji.

Cheddah Slammer

Its still up for interpretation but the definitions of Haki and what Zoro did to Mr 1 aren't the same. It isn't Observation haki because as stated you can't use observation haki to detect non living things. Zoro detects the Rhythm of the rock, then the Rhythm of MR. 1 Steel. As shown with Enel later, he can't detect Luffy when those punches ricochet off the ship because their is no intent behind them. A rock wouldn't have intent, their fore what Zoro was using wasn't observation. Its also not Armament because Zoro fights against Enel in Skypia, he should be able to cut Enel, since Armament allows you to cut Logia devil fruit types. Likewise he fights Aokiji, and can't cut him. So if you give Zoro Armament after the Mr 1 fight it forms a big plot hole in the story for Zoro. I feel like this is Fans trying to tie in their head canon cause the abilities seem similar, when Zoro could be just using his own swordsman technique that isn't related.

Extra Crispy

This is one of my favorite episodes of the whole series it’s really hard to beat the raw hype and joy I feel even now watching luffy flex his new powers and reunite with Zoro and Sanji with that music in the background! Pure cinema.

Gino

They did

King Cy

one of my favorite episodes !

SomeoneElse

Sentomaru's one line "Straw Hat is not scum like you" does so much for his character and so quickly lol. He is cool

Szonin

The first opening post-timeskip is as special as the first One Piece opening, truly feels like entering the next chapter.

Allain Gumapon

I'm more so saying it from a meta-narrative view. If Sanji is as strong as Zoro then it would kinda diminish Zoro's role a little bit since Zoro's role is the Swordsman, fighting is his thing whereas Sanji is the cook. Sanji does not need to be as good at fighting as Zoro because he provides other things for the crew whereas Zoro only provides his combat prowess.
