Jeremy

I know that fan letter episode had y’all like wait what is this animation 😂

DefensiveOnion

Lets Gooooo, I would honestly be down if you just wanna react to the Fan Letter multiple times or every 100 episodes just reacting to the Fan letter again lol Its just outrageously good

Matthew Gilroy

Fan Letter is a teaser of the animation to come. Be patient my brethren🙏🏽😤

Extra Crispy

I don’t know if I’ll ever forgive Oda for the smear campaign he ran against Sanji in the start of post time skip 😤.

Gobbo

Let's go to Fishman Island! I just finished it and you guys are just starting your journey there, I hope you enjoy it like I did!

klairvoyage

it's between him & Toei 🫠

Oussama Essamadi

"SET SAIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLL" Hits diferent knowing the Fan Letter comes next.

Zoodinger

Nice to see everyone wrapping up and saying goodbye to their other friends. But it's kinda sad that the revolutionary friends Robin made weren't here to contribute.

IBG_Music

🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 Fan letter is the episode I’ve watched the most amount of times. Really excited for it!

Isaac Sato

The biggest slanderer of Sanji has always been Oda himself. Toei could never even in their wildest dreams do him even one-tenth as dirty. In the manga at Sabaody, Oda actually had Sanji ask Nami if they could buy a slave girl. Toei actually changed the scene and made Sanji be furious at the idea of a girl being bought and sold. Oda was the one wrote Sanji at Thriller Bark and made him act like a bigot at Kamabakka Kingdom. And Oda wrote all the other things I can't talk about here yet. The only reason that Toei is even able to do Sanji dirty at all is because Oda has been setting the precedent for decades.

Zoodinger

He asked that? I really wish I hadn't read this. I can maybe excuse Thriller Bark shenanigans as a tone deaf joke that didn't land, but this is too much.

JoshVPlays

YES FAN LETTER LETS GOOOO

Dancing Viru

in my headcanon Zoro is soo bad with directions, the only reason Perona accompanied him all the way is because he was unable to leave Mihawk's island otherwise xD

Gaetan

Oh please... You all know why, let Oda cook

fia

i didn't want to spam in the comments telling you to watch but i am so glad you didn't wait lmao

fia

for real!! I've seen it multiple times and each time i notice something new, the attention to detail is insane

Sanji Joestar

FAN LETTER LETSGOOOO Amazing episode once again Now we set sail!!!

Sanji Joestar

@Isaac that one moment at the auction is still in bad taste but also let's not pretend Sanji wanted to buy her just for his own. It's a bad joke but the implication at worse is he wanted to free her. Chopper smacked him because Camie was the priority. Which kinda goes back to the suffering we see in Saboady yet all the crew could deal at the time with was saving one person. People overblow that moment for implications that aren't there.

Dreamknight942

Omg I’m so glad you’re watching Fan letter now !

Isaac Sato

I respect your interpretation, I really do. It's valid, but I can't personally agree, because I feel like I've been burned by Oda about ten times too many. People's (including mine) expectations of Sanji and what Oda actually does with him have a history of not lining up. For example, if Oda had Sanji simply say that he'd always wanted the Clear-Clear fruit and never specified the reason (to snoop on women), people would have assumed that he wanted it to do more James Bond stuff off-screen and the community would have ran with it, and anyone who would have suggested out that he probably wanted to snoop on women because he's a perv would've gotten absolutely torched by the community. This is because fans always assume the best in Sanji's intentions and Oda always finds a way to disappoint by going out of his way to give Sanji a massive L, and this happens time and time again. This is why Toei could never in a million years compete with Oda's slander of the character. The way that fans would be optimistic here and the way that Oda would give Sanji a massive L in this situation is pretty clear. You may think it's out of character, and I would agree, but so was Thriller Bark, and personally I think it's just totally something Oda would do. But, as an olive branch, I'll note that at the end of the day all we have is headcanon either way, because this is just a single panel in a story where a character's characterization is massively inconsistent because he's become almost completely dominated by gags, so your interpratation is equally as valid as mine, you're just not as cynical as I am. It sucks, because Sanji used to be one of my favorite characters too, but what can you do?

Artemis

May give you a little bit of whiplash because the animation production and style changes alot compared to what you’re seeing in OP now. Just know that this is kind of a very small tease into what the future of OP will look like. anyways with this episode, the straw hats finally get to move ahead with renewed vigor, knowledge and strength ready to tackle the 2nd half of the grand line. The unknown journey finally continues.

Sanji Joestar

@isaac Look i get that at some point you don't bother trusting the show if it's gonna keep disappointing you. But it's not a reason to take the worst implication out of anything he does. The problem's not Sanji at the end of the day but Oda and what he thinks is 'funny'. Literally if he thinks something is funny he'll add it. Bonclay hitting on Vivi, or Absalom as a whole or the crew peeping in the women's bath in Alabasta, and some SBS questions. It's not limited to him, he just gets the worst end of that stick more because it's aligned with the 'perv' persona. However the good outweights the bad enough that it's not enough to deter most people from enjoying the character.

Artemis

Yeah the character models have more distinct looking designs then there early OP counterparts. This isn't just a case with the anime's production but the manga it self. Oda has improved on his talent as an artist. You will see alot more colorful and varried designs in this part of the show.

Oussama Essamadi

1015 for me, I can quote that shi line for line lmao.

Oussama Essamadi

I just know, had the time-skip aired today, Anime twitter would have done Robin the same way they did Mirko's fanart by Horikoshi a few days ago lol.

wilkmojek

Perfect, fan letter and straight into FMI remaster aftter that. If we fight toei-goerment right now youll be youtube-algorithm defying villain! would prefer that or being killed by YT algorithm on a cross like this? - Monkey D. Luffy to Roronoa zoro.

Whoopsie

I didnt know they were going to watch the FMI remaster instead of the arc?

BOLDcast

Why are you so sure the original would do so badly?

Gaetan

Just say you would prefer them reacting to the remaster or rush the fishman island arc, and please don't bring Luffy or Zoro to your terrible takes (imo)

blim blam

dont do FMI remaster, it cuts a whole lot of the show making the moments useless, id much rather the original

Isaac Sato

I'm not taking the worst implication just out of nowhere. I say all of this with respect, but I mean, if we want to choose to take his words more charitably then that's our prerogative, but Sanji literally asks to buy the slave girl on the page, and even Toei saw it as so problematic that rather than reframing it as wanting to buy the girl to free her like is commonly headcanoned, they completely changed his reaction to outrage. If we think that One Piece is amazing and that Oda is brilliant and playing 5D chess, and his actions have repeatedly over decades shown us Sanji being like this, shouldn't we at some point take it at face value? It's far past being just a gag now, toon because no other gag has ever been taken so far, to the point where it repeatedly affects the plot. Nami being greedy or Zoro getting lost could never. Again, I mean no disrespect to you or to any other Sanji fans (I used to be one, and I get why you want to give your favorite character the benefit of the doubt)

beannie

same😭

beannie

Can’t wait to watch them losing their minds because of the insane animation tomorrow😭

Nukouh

people wanna just zoom past everything just for what better animation? the whole point of one piece is the journey and the original material gives us just that, idk why anyone would choose to watch the fmi remastered before seeing the original version

wilkmojek

you will be first in the world reacting to fishman island remastered as first time watchers. In both name and deed you will become... King of reactions

Sanji Joestar

A bit late to the response but Toei also removed Law pointing middle fingers at Kid which you'd think is fine but the audience is still kids. While at the same time showing Sanji fight the Kamabakka residents even tho there's no panel of him fighting them at all. His mission was to just steal the recipes. This depicts his character in worse ways while contradicting his refusal to fight women. Or him being included in the guys rejecting Lola when he was the only one who didn't respond in the manga. So i don't really trust Toei to do best with what they got most of the time. He's also harsh when talking but that doesn't reflect all his actions. I can't tell you what Toei thought removing it. All I know is just reading the page you can see it's a poor gag in a one slapstick panel that didn't translate well (Chapter 501 for people who wanna check the panel and context for themselves, same chapter Sanji calls the slave prices list disgusting btw) Like i said, there's really no need to demonize something into what it's not. Don't wanna make this thread longer than it needs to be tho. I get the frustration, it's just very easy to have two completely different visions of the character from one medium to the other.

Artemis

The FMI remaster is not a good replacement because it’s an unprofessional remake. It’s more of a production edit. They cut out scenes to remove padding and condence space, but the key frames and storyboarding is the same, so the transitions don't match, and you end up with a very bizarre almost like clipshow/recap version of the arc. (Characters teleporting from scene to scene, dialogue conversation being inconsistent, etc.) Its very similar to "one pace". It can definitely be watched after to see the superior animation during some sequences, but the OG is the way you want to watch it first.

Jack Shadow

Honestly, because of Sanji's blood gag, I wanted you to remake of Fishman Island. It's shortened there.
