Mo za

Hell yeah

Mo za

I was just rewatching the fan letter

Sanji Joestar

That little intro at the beginning Man, i haven't seen it in so many years Reminds me when i was watching and catching up to OP around 2016

Matthew Gilroy

No convenience here. This isn't pre-Timeskip anymore. Gone are the days of "last-minute" writing such as Lucci's backstory. This is post-Timeskip. Critical thinking is a necessity

Sanji Joestar

Rayleigh mentioning Luffy's hat fitting him well was the first thing he said to Luffy❤️i love this show

Matthew Gilroy

Kizaru gas from Sentoumaru. "Dark King Rayleigh could even keep up with Uncle Kizaru"😂

Albanese

I don't really agree here. Oda started taking the story more seriously post timeskip, whereas before Luffy could just make a funny face and counter Enel's mantra (you know the stupid meme face) now (I don't know if voluntarily or because of editorial needs) he takes it more seriously. There's a problem with that tho, if before he could come up with a silly idea to make the story make sense and go on now he has to show his real skills as a writer and I don't have much faith in that post timeskip

Mikki_Frost

Now you know why Shanks told Luffy that the hat was very important to him! :D I absolutely love this flashback!

Sanji Joestar

Luffy seeing a white whale and automatically calling it Whitebeard will never not be funny to me

Sanji Joestar

Questions are being asked Mysteries are being set up And maybe future plans are in works both story wise and writing wise Only one way to find out where it all leads

Oussama Essamadi

The way Oda turned Sanji's silly nose bleeds into a plot point needs to be studied. #JusticeForSanji :sob: Strawhat Roger is real. Looks more like Luffy than Ace. I really like Lindsay's point on how Roger was gifted the straw hat from a Shanks like person and so on.

Sanji Joestar

523 was a personal contender for the episode to stop at before Fan Letter, but that's mostly because of the first half with the Rayleigh/Roger part. Tho both 522 and 523 were perfectly fine Last episode has the quality of ending at the same point as Fan Letter while this one shows us where the journey of the man who started it all actually started. In Fan Letter at multiple times, characters discuss about Roger's role throughout the story and what would have happened if he never started the great pirate era. Nobody knows but that's why it's so great. Roger is the most haunting character in the way that he lives throughout the narrative of One piece and Luffy's adventure even after his death. A man dies when he's forgotten !

Zoodinger

Yeah can't describe how much I waited for the strawhat Roger reaction XD What I love about this is that sure, Luffy resembles Roger but the interaction between Reyleigh and Roger resembles the interaction between Zorro and Luffy. This cheery idiot shows up out of the blue and asks them to follow them and change the world, they think it's ridiculous but end up following anyway.

One Piece is so good on rewatch. The Rayleigh/Roger scene at the beginning is one of my favorite One Piece scenes of all time - it completely recontextualizes so many interactions and lines. I'll always get chills when Rayleigh meets luffy and says "That straw hat suits dauntless men very well"

Drakojin

Hating on caribou never gets old

Fweaboy

same lmao

Szonin

Kuma is the greatest mystery Oda has written.

Sonicluis

That’s why I always get chills on that line every rewatch.

Extra Crispy

(no spoilers please yall im just playing around) YEAH ROBIN ANYTHING TO CONTRIBUTE!? 👀

Extra Crispy

For some reason the part where Roger asks Raleigh “do you wanna turn the world upside down with me?” Always really gets me.

fia

w discussion

Michael DeArmas

You can watch the opening for this section now btw

Ty

Not true they have about 10 more episodes until they can watch.

Albanese

11:25 wait, was that a dark souls reference? 😄

Michael DeArmas

Respectfully disagree. The last thing worth not getting spoiled on just happened this episode (Roger having the strawhat) seeing the image of characters who haven't been introduced isnt a spoiler as there's NOTHING to latch unto without context.

Ty

I wont discuss it here because I do not want to bring up spoilers. If you are in the discord I will be willing to talk about it in the one piece channel .

Gobbo

Reyleigh's will to live being reignited by Luffy is just so good

Michael DeArmas

I replied to this but I'm not seeing my response so i'll post it again. Apologies if this is the 2nd time you see it. Not on the discord and connecting my Patreon account to discord is more of a hassle than it's worth. Agree to disagree.

Lūthér Hölâyèãhmé

I hope you guys react to the Fishman Island Remake's opening and ending when you finish the arc.

Rayleigh quote is probably one of the most important quotes in the entirety of this series because it truly encapsulates everything about this story. Here is a more accurate translation: "Maybe there are no coincidences in this world. It’s possible that everything happens for a reason. Fate works in mysterious ways. Whatever the case, Luffy has become a man worthy to wear that hat." Its almost as if Oda himself is using Rayleigh’s character to speak to his audience on a personal level, saying that yes events that transpire in my manga are not by mere happenstance, they have a “reason” for existing. I love this so much because after seeing up to this point in the story and witnessing alot of the connecting tissue of the plot, it just puts into perspective how good oda is at writing when it comes to creating a cohesive narrative.

BOLDcast

Yes lol Tell me that’s not Ash Lake

BOLDcast

That’s what I’m saying Like ok, in this case I don’t I’m being spoiled by talking about this really, but anyway It’s like, either she HAS shit to say about this and Oda is being super precious with his mysteries for no good reason (no un-convenient reason) OR he just fumbled. Or both? Like why is Franky the one to explain this to us when Robin literally spent 2 years (maybe less idk) with the revolutionaries and probably met Dragon? Like i know Franky was the first to go to the ship, but it feels like where the revolutionary plot line is concerned, Robin should be the one to give us some of that info In reality I think Oda just want to save info for later

Albanese

One piece AND dark souls enjoyer? You have my deep respect

Tony

Pretty interesting that when Luffy first got his Bounty, Oda highlights this with the Mayor of Windmill Village who stated after talking about Luffy's dream " Is it his Dream.. " " Or His Fate ? " And, even with Crocus " perhaps they're the pirates we've been waiting for " " That Captain has got quite a mysterious aura about him " " what do you think roger...?" Them Rayleigh says that as well on top of the obvious Shanks giving his hat

Artemis

@micheal Ive tried to argue this before in the past with the community and trust me your not going to win. What it boils down to, is boldcast doesn't even want to see what the designs of the new characters even look like. They rather everything be a blind reaction, despite the fact that it might not have any context. So that being said, the only time they will watch the openings is when there is no new visuals being presented. Basically means that everything displayed, has been shown in the story which kind of defeats the purpose of generating hype and some expectations through the openings, but thats the way they prefer it.

Rocketboy

After rewatching this I think Kuma might really be my One Piece's Goat...
