Not Jinbe's finest moment tbh, got caught by a Scooby Doo trap.

Yay, 2nd. I think what Vander Decken is supposed to embody is a villian that does the most damage despite being "just a buffoon". He acts completely unreasonable and only because he somehow got his hands on a super power, he is able to create more damage than a normal delulu person would. There is a lot of delusional people or people who do not understand other people's emotions or situations, only caring about themselves. But they are most of the time harmless, whereas that kind of person with a huge power becomes the biggest danger - unreasonable, unpredictable, you can't speak to their conscience nor argue with them. A power with no point, no target, no reason becomes simply a randomized tool of destruction.

Oussama Essamadi

The Alabasta ship incident still in effect lmao.

Sanji Joestar

Love how you can easily deduce that Hody might have something to do with the Queen's death so it's not a real reveal. While Shirahoshi knowing about it is the actual 'plot twist'

Sanji Joestar

Shyarly did say she's not aware of the specifics regarding the Island's destruction so there's more room there for what's possible.

Edit: Read that sequence wrong, the anime seems faithful to the manga and only expanded on it. Disregard the rest of this comment (leaving it in for context) Also side note, last episode had the princes defeated immediately by Hody's minions while in the manga it's inferred they were dominating that fight BEFORE they took the pills to win.(It was offscreened to get directly to their capture) That's why the dialogue from the crowd in this episode, saying the princes were winning, doesn't match last episode's events. A lil bit of anime inconsistency there

Sanji Joestar

In the manga there's a panel of some of the New Fishmen Pirates shocked at the reveal from Hody asking him '' Is that true, captain?". For some reason the anime cut that out.

I really don't understand Oda. Sometimes his writing is great, sometimes he makes the most stupid decisions possible. I don't even know how much the editors are involved since the show is so popular

BOLDcast

Wish they showed that or at least implied that they were holding their ground. Feels like a weird thing to just not do considering how much they pad for time?

Sanji Joestar

I know right? They wanted to fill in with content but then messed that up too.

Sanji Joestar

So, as previously mentioned, Hody doesn't know she lacks control of her powers and thinks she uses them consciously, which explains the hostage situation. He thinks she wouldn't risk her family's life. He doesn't know it's linked to her emotional state.

millecamps

yeah, hordy must be thinking that after 10 years the princess must learned how to control this power.

Sanji Joestar

Yep which is why he needed Decken's ability while she was inside the palace. And since Decken's history isn't strictly tied to the island he doesn't care if he destroys it.

Rook964

Hordy went from a normal to George Washington ahh hairdo

Matthew Gilroy

Boldcast, Toei phoned it in that episode, that's why😂

Matthew Gilroy

Hody's lungs must be hurting from all that yapping he's doing🫁😂

Jeremy

You can be critical just have to wait and see how things play out

David P
