Yep the effects for Snake Shot were visualization for the pain from Luffy grabbing Hody's chest. Also, the anglerfish swordfishman is anime only so I guess there's that. But it's a cool showcase of Observation for Zoro.

When Sanji and Jinbe face off against Wadatsumi, there's a title card there, like a video game matchup saying '' Wadatsumi, The Big Great Monk vs Sanji & Jimbei " I like it, cuz it really reinforces how they're now all on the same side of the discussion after a bit of a rough exchange in the Sea Forest.

It's really funny how bloodless injuries are depicted in the anime Like Neptune and the princes being pierced by water shots, Decken literally getting stabbed yet nothing or Hyouzou cutting through the crowd.

Toriyama made Super Sayian hair blond as he wanted to save time when inking Goku's hair. There is a full colour page in the manga that shows the blond hair, before Toei animated it.

You already know this but early One Piece faced different censorship standards than later arcs. Anime production companies often had to adhere to guidelines from broadcasters, which may have been more lenient in the initial years. That deffinitly is presented in the later story. As animation technology improved over the years, the show could portray more elaborate and visually impressive fights with a focus more on effects rather then the more gritty realism approach to fight cheorgraphy wich obviously came with blood as a visual element to showcase the intense bouts. The funny thing is though, TOEI doesn't realize but there using more blood with the sanji gag, then they probably did in the entire arlong arc. But I guess sence its protrayed as a joke and not associated with violence, its ok. Ill never figure that one out lol.

Jimbei was "clutch" a couple times during Marineford, but Crocodile saved Luffy at a more crucial point, and also Ace when he was about to get executed. Also, strength wise, Jimbei was not impressive at all. Jimbei is the reason Luffy has that scar. He was sobbing on the ground afterwards about to let Akainu kill him and Luffy. Luckily Crocodile came to save them

Jimbe was impressive, did save him repeatedly, and is strong. Crocodile did come in clutch in big moments too.

Oda took the time to draw in his manga panels of a fight between Jimbei and a Rookie Ace that lasted multiple days. Jimbei fell first (and yes, there was water nearby). Present day Ace was 2nd division commander on the Whitebeard pirates. Decently strong, but not that strong to hang with people like Marco, and certainly not the top dogs such as the Admirals. Jimbei lost to a weaker version of Ace. Do you see my point?

Not a joke. Zoro was literally saying racist remarks regarding the Fishmen at Arlong Park. A lot of the One Piece population is discriminatory towards other races (to varying extents). Some explicitly, some implicitly. Some consciously, some subconsciously. Zoro's empathy is low. Sanji is the empathetic one and emotionally aware. Interestingly, this characteristic of Zoro is one Oda could explore in the future given how on the nose it is. For now, we can make fun of it🤷🏾‍♂️

Also we know that Shimotsuki village where Zoro was raised is a reflection of the traditional Japanese culture of the past where there was xenophobia. It is a trait of Zoro's and we make fun of it. Simple🤷🏾‍♂️

In the One Piece world, everything that isn't human are minorities. That is the reality. Have you been watching the show? Even recently we see a normal and peaceful village and the villagers, for example Koala's mom, view the non-human Fishmen as minorities. The Celestial Dragons even take this a step further, by classifying anyone who doesn't live atop the Red Line at Mariejois to be minorities and scum

Then why does Oda time and time again do this? It happens with ALL of Zoro's opponents. He literally ruined Kaku's character by giving him an out-of-the-blue Zoan Giraffe transformation just to keep the agenda going😂. Giraffes are African animals. Zoro couldn't defeat Kaku until he had transformed and became African. Oda literally gave Zoro an ASSPULL power up that is 9 sword style Ashura because he knew it would be in character for Zoro to show no remorse😭
