All we know is Brook's explanation that Thriller Bark was an island in the West Blue, before it was turned into a pirate ship.

cyberc33

I think you missed it but law said that Caesar wants to outsmart vegapunk and the government by being the first to create giants. So Oars is not likely a gov experiment

Krusche

The Magellan Theory was crazy lmao

100Rainy

Yeah the anime staff popped off on this episode for sure, the direction and music choice especially really set the tone for everything going forward. Like Law said "after this, there's no going back." Are we ready?

Martin Hagen

Laws face realizing what the fuck kind of crew he teamed up with always gets me LOL

Sanji Joestar

What you guys know about Oars - He died 500 years ago by cold(according to Chopper) and his body was found in what they call the Land of Ice. - Hogback said he used to terrorize the people of the past taking even islands and creating a ''nation of villains''. That's where the nickname Continent Puller came from. - He was also known as Devil/''Majin'' - Little Oars Jr is according to Tsuru a descendant of the continent puller, Oars, and his ship had "OARS III" on its sails For Thriller Bark, it's an island from the West Blue that Moria brought with him.

Sanji Joestar

About Kaido All you know so far is - Moria was defeated by him in the New World and lost his crew - Emperor that crossed paths with Shanks on the way to Marineford

Stone Brown

Oh buy the way Carson was the one said kido first lol

Sanji Joestar

Law regretting all his life decisions the moment he actually interacts with the Strawhats, Luffy be like: You're the one stuck with me!

Ariix

I just love Law so much here man, he feels like a super cool, serious character trapped with some looney tunes characters

Artemis

Classic Oda using SFX to obscure or hide the meaning of what was said.

Oussama Essamadi

Oda makes Law even cooler than the Yeti Cool Brothers only to have the Straw Hats strip him from all his dignified edginess lol.

fia

superrr cute

What's your policy on new info (minor but relevant in the upcoming episodes) that is meant to be given in a title-box/caption like in the manga but the anime accidentally forgot to include? Will someone provide a screenshot of the page when needed? Some of you should know what I'm referring to.

Sanji Joestar

When there's informations or title cards missing I mention it in the comments or send it to them if it's relevant. Is there something to look out for in this or the next episode in case I missed it? Without spoiling obviously

Veritas

Thanks yeah, I'm referring to the card in chapter 673, page 9. The episode in question is 599. This is a case where over-speculation is avoidable if all the intended source material will be available.

I stayed up till 4 AM in the morning last night catching up with the episodes and I have to say. Holy crap!!! Where Do I even begin with this one? So if the WG has been studying Gigantification for hundreds of years, does that mean other experimental labs like this one exist in the world and the WG has been trying to bolster a Giant army? 🤯What a bombshell that changes everything. I don't even know how to react to this new information. Does that mean parts of the giant race in the OP world could be man made? I don't even know. This is crazy. Doesn't that also insinuate that Chopper is using some form of Gigantification with his Rumble balls. I mean they are kind of like drugs, aren’t they? Scientifically manufactured with synthetic chemicals to create a spherical pill which enhances his abilities of various forms. But one of those pills makes him a Giant. Just an observation. After the awesome last ep cliffhanger when Law revealed to luffy that he wants to form an alliance. You see the juxtaposition of a more serious character like law mingling with the comical straw hats and it made for some very interesting meme worthy expressions. Even though parts of it weren’t in the manga, it was really entertaining. Law's interactions w/ the crew are hilarious! The episode introduces the main antagonist, Caesar Clown, and his Logia-type Gasu Gasu no Mi (Gas-Gas Fruit) who is a scientist who worked with vp sometime in the past and lastly “smiley” which is a huge slime like monster from Dragon quest. An iconic creature of Japanese media that is still so successful in modern times. Well, when I think slime, that’s what I remember, but im sure its origins can be dated far back in works like H.P love craft and even old classic vintage films. Anyways cool to see an amoeba like slime in one piece. Man I am so glad I’m watching this arc finally, I’m gaining so much more context that I other wise never had in this series.

BOLDcast

this arc is so good so far!

Drakojin

Wait. What did you read/watch of OP so far?

Artemis

The stories that I skipped are Punk Hazard and the next arc, kind of all combined into this one saga. So outside some obvous big spoilers that I could not get away from, alot of this is very new to me. I picked the series back up after this saga, in the manga and then eventually the anime to the point of being caught up with the story presently, and have continued to be a weekly reader/watcher.

>Doesn't that also insinuate that Chopper is using some form of Gigantification with his Rumble balls? A popular theory says that giant chopper is a "forced" form of awakening, like the awakened Zoan guards of impel down. I like that theory and I think it's the one that makes most sense. Edit: before anyone says this is a spoiler (has happened before)... it's not, Crocodile explicitly mentioned awakened fruits in Impel Down.
