Sanji Joestar

On today's episode Everything goes wrong😂

100Rainy

Let's go! Things are heating up and not just cause of Caesar's gas. Also yeah the clapping instruments are called castanets. I agree that it's such a shonen trope for people to straight up explain all their tricks and powers to whoever they're fighting. So I appreciate the rare instances when Oda withholds all of that and keeps us guessing along with the characters.

Not only within the arc itself, but with the 2 years timeskip and especially from Luffy's perspective, there's a lot of stuff we find out alongside him. Meanwhile we're kept in the dark and that's kinda cool as a way to reintroduce us to the world slowly. Which is funny cuz some events are even known by some Strawhats but since it's not relevant or brought up until someone talks about it we won't know. Like Luffy finding out about Aokiji vs Akainu when even Chopper knew😂

We actually got confirmation of Luffy's poison resistance back in Fishman Island. Near the beginning when Luffy encountered the drunk octopus guy, he mentioned he accidentally stung Luffy out of reflex but it turned out that the venom didn't affect him. It's kind of a forgettable moment though tbh, so I think Oda just wanted to reiterate the point again here with Caesar. Magellan really put that old saying to the test, "what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger".

wow talk about whip lash. I feel disoriented after this episode. One moment, I’m rooting for the characters and thinking everything is alright and ceaser is just some pushover and then the next, i have extreme anxiety over how the crew is going to make it out of this alive and who in the HELL was that that shown at the end, that caused law to feel pain his heart. Anxiously awaiting the next episode.

I love the fact that one piece doesn't go deep into its internal monologue during fights to explain mechanics of each battle like naruto does. It allows us to interpret and experience the action in real time without characters telling you how everything works. I feel like this was a bigger issue with early OP that oda has indeed improved upon. Embrace the "Show, Don't Tell" approach instead of explicitly explaining every technique, the narrative can demonstrate a character's growth and skill through their actions and strategies, and it feels more authentic. Carson just reaffirmed at least with this one point, why I consider new world post story to be superior.

I dont like cesar because I cant take him serious

Oussama Essamadi

CC doing all the shit talking, he earned is flex though, that power is terrifying.

Jack Shadow

Yeah, Ceaser's powers are cool

Cheddah Slammer

I think the difference is that in Naruto the abilities people have don't necessarily make sense unless you explain them. Were on the other hand in One Piece, we get the Devil Fruit Name of an individual, and we generally know what's going to happen with just the name of a fruit, so it doesn't need to be explained. Like Ceaser here we know is going to be using Gas, but its really how he uses the gas that's the problem.

Drakojin

Tbh no one takes frieza serious 😉

n Ferrante

Please dont compare Frieza to this Clown and did you forget how scary he was in namek arc

Zoodinger

I think this is the episode where I finally caught up to One Piece on my first watch. Each time I catch up I stop watching for years to let episodes pile up, and then I start rewatching the whole thing from scratch until I catch up again.

Bro punk hazard is way better than I remember it being 😂

I will say that 99% of the people that clown on Caesar Clown probably base their opinion on his laugh and voice. From just this portrayal in this episode, he’s incredibly menacing as a villain. If he had a deeper voice and a different laugh people would probably switch up real fast 🤷🏽‍♂️

Kishimoto had a great base for a power system and completely obliterated it. A better writer would take the chakra system and form it into something more concrete.

tavuntu

I love it when Luffy does Looney Tundes sh*t.

tavuntu

Young people will never know how scary Frieza was (back in the 90s when we saw him for the first time, as kids).

Monkey bing bong

I wonder how applicable the gas gas fruit would be on someone that wasn't a scientist with a vast knowledge of different gases. I imagine it would be something more like Smoker.

Fabulous

I am rewatching punk hazard after a long time and I forgot all the details in the middle. i have no idea on what Cesar is doing either

I assumed the little clicker thing was basically like a flint striker that you’d use for welding or a Bunsen burner…but no sparks, so idk for sure

Matthew Gilroy

Not sure what Franky's gameplan was😂

Matthew Gilroy

NIGURANDAYO, SMOKER CAEEESARRRRR Mugiwara no Luffy, retire

Matthew Gilroy

RIP Punk Hazard toilets with the gas gas fruit💨🚻😦

Sloth

That's exactly it I'm pretty sure. He sends a bunch of gas towards the person he's targeting and it leaves a gas trail to him. There he sets the spark with that thing, and it essentially sends the spark to where the explosion is going to be. Pretty smart application of his quirk.

Blake Johnston

Caesar getting everyone slowly one by one is anime filler IIRC. Poor Franky taking an even harder L because of that
