I absolutely love the symbolism of Doffy literally unraveling his entire kingdom by himself and causing most of the damage with his own abilities. He’s a spoiled toddler that’s throwing a tantrum and breaking all of his toys. With the birdcage he’s embodying that kid at the playground that gets mad because he’s losing, picks up his ball, and leaves. Doflamingo thinks he’s better than the Celestial Dragons but he’s never outgrown them. He may be hotter than them, stronger than them, and smarter than them, but at his core he’s just a snotnosed brat that spends all of his time in an oversized playroom/hugbox Also love how Luffy is forcing Doffy to constantly have to look UP at him which is the thing that Doflamingo hates the most (being looked down upon by others). Luffy intentionally held Gear 4 back this entire time because he thought that him (with G2+G3+haki) and Law would be enough to defeat him.

Just like how Doffy's 'Skypath' move is probably modeled off a real world spider behavior called 'ballooning' and he also has a literal shield move that's shaped like a the stereotypical spiderweb design, I've always been obsessed with how Doffy's Awakening techniques kind of look like sheet webs created by certain species of spiders that live and hunt mostly on the ground - not to mention him 'cocooning' buildings in string the same way spiders cocoon their prey. Honestly makes me sometimes wish that Oda gave Doffy his own version of Gaara's 'Sand Coffin' move.
