Robin won't say anything unless she is explicitly asked about it. She knows where an ancient weapon is located but isn't telling anyone.

Sabo could've for sure been a late addition during early Marineford (3 sake cups shown early on in the arc), but so far the only pieces of information we have from Oda himself seem to indicate that he had a "Sabo-shaped idea", if you will, since Ace's introduction. In this cover from chapter 596 (a chapter right before the timeskip, so WAYY before even hinting that Sabo was alive), Oda seems to imply that if Sabo had survived, Ace wouldn't have had a crossed out 'S' in his tattoo (https://imgur.com/fzpUuLo) So either, as I said, the 'S' was always referencing Sabo and he had an idea about a character named Sabo with a vague role he was gonna serve down the line, or Oda simply retconned (not in a bad way) a misspelling joke into a new meaning of its own.

Honestly I think it's quite heavily suggested based on her reaction when Sabo started talking about the heavy part that she's aware of what happened to him and we know she knows his relation to Luffy. Which is exactly why she wouldn't reveal it because it's just not her place? If for example , before the Timeskip, Luffy knew Sabo was alive and in the RA, Robin would just tell him she met him during the timeskip. But this is different, Luffy doesn't know he's even alive. Revealing that involves a much bigger mix of emotions than just ''I met your supposed dead brother.'' So letting instead Luffy meet Sabo in person, so that he knows and sees that he IS alive is more fulfilling for Luffy. I'd imagine if she told him he wouldn't rest until whatever day he actually sees him again. That's also why the first thing Robin asks to Sabo when they meet during the arc is if he saw Luffy. Implying they expected Sabo to do the reunion personally.

next ep is hype !

So here's a fun fact You know how Seagulls(News Coo) are the ones distributing newspapers to the people of the world. It would be weird for them to also deliver them to the Revolutionnary army's base wouldn't it? Well if you remember during Robin's adventure after Sabaody, when she meets the RA, they receive a newspaper about Luffy. The paper was delivered by a black crow, implying the RA has its own bird news system, so it's neat seeing Sabo flying on crows here.

Imagine losing your memory and suddenly getting hit with the worst realization possible about how you're already too late to do anything. The worst part is Ace was killed by Sakazuki. The Sakazuki cups they drank from solidified their bond and Sakazuki broke it. Reading that might have even been a bigger memory trigger actually.

Drakojin

Additionally the time line doesn't really lend itself to much talking about the last 2 years. It hasn't even been a 4 days since the end of Fishman Island. I'd wager not even 4 or 5 since they reunited in sabaody... And look at how much shit went down in that time frame

Sanji Joestar

Very true lol It's been much less than a week for them

Wind hashira

Even though Sabo is a late character, there’s not too many artists that can write a story without contradicting themselves especially in long running shonen🤣

Kaku 💫

The trigger for sabo's memory coming back would have actually been more of a mix of Ace's death and Akainu's name " Sakazuki ", because "Sakazuki" is also the name of the ceremonial cups Ace, luffy and sabo drank from to become brothers. Its a detail you cant really get if you dont know japanese unfortunetely. ( sorry for my english )

Matthew Gilroy

SaD. Bo should be thankful to Daddy Akainu for restoring his memory. Without Daddy Sakazuki SaD. Bo would be living in ignorance his whole life.

RedFaulkner

I’m gonna refer to my comment on the previous episode about Robin telling Luffy.

cyberc33

Why would robin spoil luffy ? And ruin their reunion ?

Degenerick

Carson, Oda drew a “what if” panel where sabo rescued ace from akainu’s punch. its actually pretty epic

Capitano

I agree, Oda probably came up with Sabo during Marineford. But he always intended for Sabo to be alive because I think that's why he was written into the story to begin with, to "replace" Ace. That's why they are very strong hints that he survived during Luffy's flashback post-Marineford.

Budaika

I really appreciate the uploads and we also got all the ones from the missed days. Keep up the great work!

Monkey bing bong

Dadan was mentioned by the mayor of Windmill village quite a bit earlier than her first appearance so Oda might have had an idea of a second brother but yeah he was probably fully thought out around Marineford.

klairvoyage

amnesia plotline is the weak/convenient one for me (though I do like the Sakazuki wordplay tie-in to at least justify why the trigger only could/did happen after Marineford) Robin however doing anything other than *not* tell Luffy yet would not make any sense at all imo

BOLDcast

the last paragraph lines up with what I was thinking. Thats pretty much how Oda approaches most things as far as i can tell, with a few very important exceptions. He sets up an idea without being attached to what that will look like in the final product and lets the story shape what that idea will eventually look like. Doing so in a way that he can make it look like it was planned all along. a lot of cretors do this obviously, in fact most probably do. But some are more subtle, or for others that "initial idea" will be more or less set in their mind before proceeding

Matthew Gilroy

And then there's arcs where Oda planned everything for. Skypeia and Fishman Island

Cheddah Slammer

To each is own, for me I wouldn't say that its weak, just overused in media. In this case, Oda uses it in a strong way. Cause any other plot, makes Sabo look like a dick, for not showing up to save Ace like Luffy did.

klairvoyage

Streets are saying Sabo faked his amnesia to not have to go to Marineford🤫 He might be worse than Trafalgar D. backstory-inventer Law

myridiann

i cant wait for 739 xd

Take this as you will but during the Logue Town arc, in the manga there is a character drawn in a silluette with a tophat and cape which looks very similar to sabo present in the crowd during luffy's execution. It was such an easter egg, that the anime did not catch it. https://imgur.com/03IQVrq

rinji

I’d argue Sabo probably told robin to let him talk to Luffy instead of her just telling him, obv some context in the story would be nice. I’d argue the biggest issue with Sabo is that if he’s such a well known figure in the RA how did Luffy and Ace never hear abt him like when Garp talked to Luffy abt his dad? While Luffy doesn’t read the newspaper I’m pretty sure Ace would have and would have probably known the top figures in factions across the world. The only way Sabo being well known makes sense is if happened with the 2 years after ace died.

It's incredible how Oda operates. He has this knack for turning minor details into major plot points that feel completely planned from the start. A perfect example is the whole Sabo storyline. While it seems likely the character was conceived around Marineford, Ace's 'A S CE' tattoo, with the crossed-out 'S', was initially probably just a piece of cool design. Yet, Oda retroactively spun that little crossed-out letter into the profound, emotional core of Sabo's entire existence and somehow weaved it into the story. It's the same kind of brilliance we saw with the Whitebeard/Doflamingo connection which im sure you did not even realize, but go back and view the first time Whitebeard made his first introduction. His IV bags had the smiley-face jolly roger long before Dressrosa was even conceptualized in the story. You should start to pick up on alot of these as you get deeper into the series such as the dwarfs being listed on the wanted poster during sabaody arc or shanks showing up at the marinford war, which clearly was telegraphed earlier in thriller bark, yet oda said he never planned it. Oda takes these small, almost insignificant visual cues and minor scenes and weaves them into the overarching lore so flawlessly. Sometimes its difficult to surmise what he actually planned and what he didn't but it just works so well for the story. There is quite alot more of these bread crumbs very early in the OP series, that you are not even aware of because you need to get further, to understand the future implication and how it connects, but im sure someone here will point them out when the time is right.

After Robin met Sabo, and learned he is his brother, why would she tell Luffy? It’s not her place and as we saw, Sabo clearly wanted to do it himself and be there in person for the moment..

klairvoyage

the 1st thing Robin said to Sabo when she saw him was "did you go see Luffy?" iirc
