Peak asf

Kat DeLaney

Peak incoming next episode! Can't wait for tomorrow!

hussam abdelalim

Just a note, "creepy" was the first thing you guys said when you saw her eye for the first time

Lūthér Hölâyèãhmé

Yeah a third eye would be kinda freaky looking especially if you were not expecting it.

Lūthér Hölâyèãhmé

Yes a 3rd eye is less remarkable than literal Giants or Fish people. But clearly 3 eyed people are exceedingly rare in the One Piece universe. The One Piece citizens may consider it a mutation or birth defect at first glance.

Sanji Joestar

Oda did confirm that for the Monster Trio Their specialities are Luffy Conquerors Zoro Armament Sanji Observation And yes they can still be very good at the others they have

Sanji Joestar

This at the very least shows one of Big Mom's biggest failings as a parent She praives diversity bit even within her realm she pushes some of them away And doesn't get it fixed Instead her own daughter gets bullied and we see a cycle forming

Monkey D.offy Lucci

Love that Katakuri is voiced by Gintoki from Gintama and other iconic characters.

Michael DeArmas

They confirmed back in Fishman Island that Luffy, Sanji, and Zoro all have observation haki. One instance of note being when all 3 sensed the presence of Caribou creeping on them near the end of the arc

Sakarael

It was in an SBS in Punk Hazard where Oda already confirmed that Zoro specialized in Armament and Sanji in Observation Haki, so you're spot on!

Michael DeArmas

The way Carson explained how Katakuri is hyper sensitive and that manifests in his obs haki being able to see into the future, is pretty much how I feel about it too.

The goatt

DefensiveOnion

Lindsay every episode embodying the spirit of Bege or the classic "Boldcast Lindsay with a Gun emoji" and outright threatening 𝓉🍬𝑒𝒾 to give them more Musical sequences or else... 🇹 🇴 🇪 🇮 🔫

Sanji Joestar

IT'S THE SENGOKU GUN Toei Do as she says!!!

Oussama Essamadi

Lindsay needs to be tried for that pun lol. Pudding was on her knees, Carson was one that fury.

100Rainy

Aw man, when this eventually drops on YT I can already sense those comments being very chill and understanding about Carson asking if Sanji has Obs. haki during the reaction. Yup...totally cool and chill

DefensiveOnion

I cant wait to see Wit Studio, with the help and financing of the Boldcast production comittee, implement the Sengoku Gun during remake Marinefird in 2036 and show Toei how its done

Artemis

Man, I can’t praise this episode enough. Just when you’ve accepted she’s just another villain for the story BOOM -- Oda flips the script When you see that Sanji and Pudding are just two sides of the same tragic coin. Both are just survivors of childhood trauma. Oda’s brilliance here lies in how he writes these character parallels as there scars manefest in different ways. Sanji uses his hyper-chivalrous and pervy persona as a defensive mask. It’s a way to overcompensate for the worthlessness drilled into him by the Vinsmokes. Pudding takes the opposite route, putting on a charade and acting like a cold-hearted monster. She weaponizes her third eye, the very thing she was bullied for to maintain that ‘monster’ status to protect herself from being ostracized. When Sanji called her eye "beautiful," he did what no one else had ever done in her life, he looked past the monster she pretended to be and saw the person underneath. Bet you didn't see that one coming did you carson?

Coqnbauz

Looking back on it, it’s actually insane how all of this was fit into a single episode. I’ve never realized how good the pacing is in Wholecake Island

BOLDcast

wait can i ask why? am i stupid or does this have to do with spoilers? Like should i edit that out of the YT video?

Sanji Joestar

Oh no nothing egregious It'd be more like '' How are you wondering if he has observation, obviously he does. He used it a lot already. '' Let's just say some of his fans are quite sensitive on that topic, because for a while he was memed because we couldn't visually tell if he actually used Haki. (Even though Luffy literally tells us in Punk Hazard he has it.) That's because Haki is drawn black and Sanji's legs are almost always drawn with his black pants (Black Leg) in the manga, we don't often see him actually coated. It's mostly implied by context clues. Or sometimes Characters will just say it (Judge for example when they fought). And as for Observation Haki he showcases it at multiple occasions. Like how he detected Kinemon's torso underwater. How he noticed the sniper aiming at Viola in a flash etc Also the Jelly bean dodge has unironically been a debated point ever since that chapter dropped. About who got the better observation etc Tl:Dr Don't worry about it, it's just fans being fans😂

100Rainy

During the episode you simply asked if Sanji might have Observation Haki. And it's been confirmed for quite some time that he does, since Punk Hazard I believe. So I figure some fans on YT might take your question the wrong way and assume you forgot about Sanji's haki. I remember they were kinda rude about your theory over Reiju's name before it got revealed, I can already imagine them racing to correct you/call you out over asking if Sanji has basic haki. Tbh I'm just kinda poking fun at the YT crowd, hopefully they actually will be normal about it. Some fans can get wild though, especially about Zoro & Sanji

Veritas

You explained Sanji’s observation perfectly by the end but the initial question came off as forgetting what was established since Fishman, that Sanji already exhibited basic Observation many times. This is all chill with us of course, maybe you meant to ask if Sanji has Future Sight but misspoke. Since Oda outright said what you said about Zoro and Sanji’s preferences after the timeskip, your understanding is all good.

Arkham

Don’t speak too soon

Veritas

I love Observation as a power in general but what few people discuss is how it's like an RPG skill tree with multiple branches being different specialties like stats in my headcanon. Almost nobody specializes in every aspect equally. There's basic reflexes and senses, mainly to detect hidden enemies or react to attacks. Everyone who trains in Haki does this more or less. Some even use it to power scale others, being able to size up someone's Haki. But the branches spread from there. There's focusing on Distance, to see farther away than normal (with living things appearing as "aura" or "voices"). The very best at these we've seen are Fujitora who can find meteors, Enel who can monitor a country, Aisa and Rayleigh who did the same, and then Sanji who always finds women. Usopp briefly had a clutch moment with this. There's Empathy, which is being in tune with others. This gives an edge to dodging attacks with intent, or being diplomatic or charismatic, as we've seen with Queen Otohime. Koby showed too much of this at the end of the war, with it coming off as telepathy. I can see Sanji also being good at this. Finally, the branch that gets the most hype is Future Sight, as it is very broken with the most XP levels. It's not confirmed but many fans think Fujitora might cheat at gambling with it.

charlie

i’m pretty sure that is confirmed when Law asks who has haki on the crew to deal with Ceaser being logia

Cheddah Slammer

Another problem with Charlotte Katakuri's future sight is that you need to interpret what your seeing. He clearly saw pudding bend over crying but had no context for why so he didn't do anything in that moment.

Arkham

This is such a great moment for Sanji. He isn’t the ladies man he thinks he is, but he is genuinely kind and accepting which is so much better. Worth noting for Pudding that kids are cruel, it doesn’t matter how normal or abnormal you are. And Big Mom is nothing if not a big, spoiled child. Imagine what that did to the kids she raised.

Jack Shadow

Let's be honest, long legs or long arms are not something that your eye catches, but the third eye is something that makes you feel uneasy. Plus, yes, WG probably killed the whole race of third eye people, so Pudding is the last survivor of this race. When I first learned about Pudding's ability, I instantly believed that she would play the major role in the final arc. The ability to read poneglyphs puts her on the same level of value as Robin.

Fabulous

Solid discussion!

Matthew Gilroy

Whole Cake anime feels like a Disney movie. Shout out to Toei. But fans prefer the typical Shonen beats, even poorly adapted. The fact that fans have the Marineford anime over WCI just shows the fandom is full of braindead baboons. Ah yes, Marineford, where after a single punch the camera would cut to every single named character on the island and unnamed foot soldiers too. Versus Whole Cake Island anime that gives us Musical numbers not present in the manga and expands on scenes that were skipped or unusually panelled in the manga. Same is true for Enies Lobby vs Thriller Bark. Huge budget increase in Thriller Bark with some very creatively directed episodes. A horror movie atmosphere versus a low-budget action Shonen adaptation of Enies

Szonin

peak wedding cake!

Oshidi

Lots of paragraphs today😆

Oshidi

I agree! But I also feel like it’s not just about adaptation. Some arcs just have more going on narratively to dig into. WCI looks incredible and adds a lot, but Marineford & Enies sticks to people more for its impact despite the lack of creative presentation.

Matthew Gilroy

Sanji is a ladies man though. Most recently Viola, Pudding, and the waiter from this arc Cosette-chan come to mind

WaffleFrog

I’ve been loving the reactions and discussions to this arc, I’m having so much of fun with you guys!

Sanji has observation, he even used it while in Nami's body when he rescued Kinnemon's lower half in the water at Punk Hazard, remember?

Bege's like: y'know what that was pretty funny lol
