And yes, as this arc was coming out it was considered to be the best arc to date by many people!! It's a fan favorite for sure. It's not my personal top 1, but it's definitely up there

Talking about Cracker, this episode's content is why it was hard to talk about the Cracker fear factor without just giving it away. But yes Big Mom and her powers basically work on fear. That's why it's so interesting that when Cracker got defeated she sent out Zeus and Prometheus to darken the skies. Showing to the citizen that she is in a bad mood. Meanwhile she was pissed but got her mood lifted after talking to her kids and went for the dinner with the Vinsmokes. It's really amazing how Big Mom's powers literally give life to the setting.

Whole cake is in my top 5 for sure, it is an incredible arc, so it makes me very happy to see you enjoying it so much. In my opinion, Zou/Whole Cake started arguably the best stretch of arcs in One Piece, which you will ofcourse find out and judge on your own later on, just know that it does not get worse from now on.

So fun fact, when the reveal of Katakuri's devil fruit was done, it was introduced as a Mochi Logia. But it was quickly correct as a Special Paramecia. In early concept he was gonna have a Logia Flour fruit. Since he's the Minister of Flour.

me too lindsay ! This arc might change your number one arc after it’s over, but until then it was my number one too. I love everything about it — Big Mom, Whole Cake Island, the musical elements, and the dark fairy tale vibe.

You're getting to the era where One Piece really had to step up its game. With shows like MHA, Demon Slayer, and AOT blowing up, Toei finally realized they needed that prestige look to keep them above the competition. Lindsay is spot on. WCI is where the show starts feeling truly modern. You can tell the production is shifting ever so gradually, since ZOA arc and its just improving, the music is more dynamic, those theatrical musical numbers feel massive, and the emotional beats hit way harder because the animation finally matches the quality of the writing. Before this, the story was always great, but the production definitely struggled to keep up with its moments in the manga. And dare I say, it only gets better. but yeah WCI is one of my top 5 favorite arcs of all time. Not my number 1 but its in that list of top 5.

Yeah this arc is number 1 for me, for me Big Mom is just a very cool and interesting villain. Their are so many twist in turns in this that are foreshadowed but not obvious. I am also a music major so all the songs are just the cherry on the cake.

Whole Cake is great. Top 5 so far for me maybe. Doesn't have quite the writing of Dressrosa, impact and grunginess of Sabaody, or the life lessons and thematic beauty of Fishman Island or Skypeia. It is a great arc. Grade A+ The production value is definitely the most consistent so far episode to episode

also yh on content alone (manga content) - whole cake is rly good. One piece is a manga/anime whererin at the start of every arc people say its 10/10, then near the end they say "im so happy we are outta there get us somewhere new" - rinse and repeat, one piece fans are hilarious man

This is my favorite as well. After watching this arc, it made me so invested that I started the manga as well after xx years. It has the whimsy adventure, romance, drama, hype and tension that I didn’t know I needed.
